A truly delightful and original picture bookBased on their non-fiction book "Ten Sisters: A True Story" by Virginia Rackley, Deloris Hart, Rhita Brniak, Mary Hickmott, Irma Swierk Allen, Pauline Ariel, Phyllis Ferguson, Vera Barber, Audrey Alford, and Doris Wenzel, Ten Little Sisters is a truly delightful and original picture book about ten female siblings and the enjoyable activities they do together, such as fishing, climbing trees, or visiting a real courthouse. Years later, when they are all grown up they enjoy a grand family reunion in this happy tale with upbeat, crayon-style color illustrations by Lana Hill.

One of a KindAlthough this book is miniature it is packed with information about your sun-sign. The feature of this book I enjoyed most was that it paired your sign with each of the other eleven signs (including itself; Aquarius and Aquarius). For example Aquarius and Leo. It then described the chances of a relationship between the two. Another feature I enjoyed was the different chapters about Aquarius. Such as your talents and careers, body and mind, and Aquarius at a glance. I know that you will enjoy this small book as much as I have.

Excellent book on Will Smith's life. This is an excellent book for students and gives a lot of facts about Will Smith's life. It also has many good morals. The morals are to be as good as you can be and not spend all of your money on 6 cars and 2 motorcycles. You really need to read the book to get the most from the morals that are contained within this book. It is a good book for grades 3 - 12.

A Powerful and Refreshing AudioI really enjoy listening to this CD, especially in the car on my way to work.
It's a great way to start my day and to get excited about life. I find the
light, flowing style of the ideas and of Ariel Kane's reading easy to listen
to and absorb. The concepts the Kanes present are simple, and I could see
similarities to other things I've read, but their approach is so profoundly
novel that it affected me in a way that no other book or CD has before. They
have a completely fresh perspective on awareness that is incredibly appealing
in its practicality. I often see the value of their words not only while I
listen, but afterwards, when amazing things happen in my life.
In addition to their powerful and life-changing teachings about living in the
moment, listening to this audio is very relaxing. Whether I am feeling great
about my life (which is happening more since I read their book and listened
to this CD), or I feel the occasional upset, my problems seem to disappear
when I hit "play". It's not that the problems don't exist, but I've realized
I don't have to indulge in worrying to make my life work well and it becomes
readily apparent when I get engaged in listening. This concept of listening
applies not only to the CD, but understanding what the Kanes teach about
truly listening is also one of the main reasons I have been experiencing such
increased satisfaction in my relationships.
It really doesn't matter what track is on, the whole thing applies to my life
and pulls me into the current moment of now, which I think is their
intention. The benefit is more than learning fascinating and new ideas from
their words like how satisfaction arises in you when you learn to live in the
now. In the reading of the book, they have actually demonstrated how
awareness happens by creating this well-crafted audio to get you into this
moment without any "work", just by listening. Don't be surprised if you find
yourself feeling very alive, present, and more enthusiastic even after a
short listen.
If you are looking for something unique that can have true transformational
impact in your life like it has in mine, I highly recommend "Working On
Yourself Doesn't Work". I also think it's one of the best gifts you could
give someone you care about.

Very sweet children's story with a math themeI purchased this Spanish language book for use with a class I teach in math methods for prospective elementary teachers. This is a sweet book with darling illustrations and it is terrific to use to introduce or reinforce the very basic math concepts concepts of "big" vs. "small". In my class I read the English translation while one of my students read the Spanish text, and my students enjoyed the story very much! This also gives teachers an opportunity to introduce multiculturism into the math classroom.

Pardon the cliche, but big waste of treesI would give this zero stars given the chance. First, the title is very misleading. These are not essays by "the new generation of mothers," but rather teen, welfare and wanna-be hippie moms. These flighty, immature, irresponsible writers do NOT represent my generation. (I am 30.) Just take a glimpse at the biographies in the back before you decide to read this drivel. One author is described as a "second generation welfare mama." Now there's a source of pride. These essays include the story of a teenage birth mother who led a potential adoptive couple to believe she was going to give them her baby, then changed her mind after the baby was born, as well as the story of a woman who aborted her baby after she decided to let her body be a pawn to the patriarchy. I am paraphrasing, but trust me, the actual language is even more ridiculous. There are a couple of semi-decent essays here, but it's not worth wading through the rest to find them.
My New Favorite Book!I got this book on Sunday and could not put it down. I love it! Inspiring stories, and so diverse in the approaches and attitudes towards having children. This book makes me feel like I am a member of a new tribe of mothers instead of the ugly freak-nothing my in-laws seem to think I am. Dan Savage's forward is heart-warming. The list of Breeder Rights of Passage is hilarious and hits close to home with items like 'first Judy Blume book,' 'first zine,' 'first stalker,' and 'first trip to Nepal.' My favorite stories were NeoNatal SweetPotato about a babies in the neonatal ICU--I couldn't stop crying. And Bread and Roses--finally the truth about true love (it's hard work!) And also one called 'Baby Vibe' about the time the writer's child got ahold of her vibrator--I couldn't stop laughing! It says in the introduction: "Our lives are intense, chaotic, excellent. We don't know too much about 'settling down,' but we are finding, after a long ramble, ways to mother soulfully in this world--the one we swore we would never bring children into, the one that spawned our cynicism and the one that, ultimately, nourishes out hope. Rock on, breeder chicks!" I especially like that the writers in this book don't claim that motherhood changes so dramatically with each new generation, but that the ways we are able to talk about it (without defensiveness or endless explanations) have expanded exponentially. The themes in this book are universal, but the voices are decidedly "Generation X."
Stories for ALL mothersDespite reading the 'anti' reviews, I bought myself a copy. I soon realised that the people who posted such vitriolic reviews had were merely posting as an excuse to air their anti-child views. Whatever. I am a suburban 40 year old mother with a child. I would say that I am 'less than hip' and probably fall outside the marketing target for this book. But I found the stories to be insightful, engaging and full of humour. I nodded my head many times in understanding and have recommended it to mothers in my circle of friends as a way to open up discussion. The beauty of this book is that it is universally appealing to all women who have had children. The stories are fresh and witty - and make you feel that you are not alone. I highly recommend it to any woman who is thinking of having children, or who already has them. You don't have to be hip to love this book.
