From one Alaskan Viking to another
Keith sums up the very reason I moved to Alaska in the summer of '98. The book tugs at you like the land does up here. It inspires me to take the path less travled. My only hope is, that I have half the heart Keith does, when I go on my Alaska viking. I am very fortunate, in that I have an autographed copy of the book. Signed by Keith at the 1994 Portland, Oregon Sportsman show. Great man and even better book!

Very Very Good
This is a great book on the life and times in Alaska. He has done a great job in relaying his story to the reader. I personal have two copies and my first copy has been read so many times, the pages are falling out. Check it out. It's worth the money and the time for it to come :O)

On my third set . . .
I love this series so much that I have had to replace the entire set three times. I lend them out and they disappear!
These are by far the finest novels that Ms. Austin has written. I was drawn into the story, and I just couldn't put the books down. Ms. Austin provides Scriptural references so it is easy to see what she is basing her story on. After reading the Scriptures, elements in the story that are taken right out of the Bible are easily discerned from those that the writer may be taking an artist license with. It breathed life into these characters and made them very relevant to me.

I immediately began reading the remaining books in the series, and every one was a delight. I enthusiastically recommend the series.

The best one yet out of the series
Ms. Austin's books, the series from Kings and Chronicles have been excellent and informative. Her writing capabilities are beyond words. This 5th book in the series, Among The Gods was spell bounding, heart pounding and could not be put down. You will truly feel like you know the characters before you are done, and you will hate for it to end.

AOS is Neither ;)
AOS didn't just write it, he lived it. He was the embodiment of his words and as such he deserves the utmost respect. He allowed himself to be scrutinised by people such as Colin Wilson and the Occult Research Society and came out trumphs. He could do anything and chose to do nothing (literally), he created masterpieces on canvas and sold them for a couple of pounds each.

If you never read another occult book then read this or The Book of Pleasure (part of The Inferno to Zos).

A must have

May you burn in it's acquirement for your wretched Questions
With AOS, who needs no introduction as i'm sure if you have gotten this far you need no desription of this wonderment. A harsh whipping of the swine into a coral which causes an upstart. Yesss, no we're getting somewhere. This is required reading for all masters of beLIEf.

The best guide to Austin
This is by far the best travel guide I've come across for ANY city. Finally a travel guide that doesn't seem to be written by a tourist. My only complaint is that Edge Guides can't be found in more cities.

My bible...
I have lived in Austin for 5 months now, and still find that I carry this book around with me and use it to guide me around the city. I think the highest compliment for this book is the fact that friends of mine who have glanced through it find it to be right on target as to what is worth visiting. And these are Austin natives. It is especially useful in helping us who choose not to partake in the whole "fraternity/college" nightlife and hang out with the rest of the music geeks on 6th street. The best investment I made before moving down here!

The Best of Gil Elvgren
I think this is a wonderful poster book...a must for all Elvgren lovers. A first class collaboration by B&B, Reid Austin & King of Pin-up...Art Amsie. Be sure to add this to your pin-up library! Signed: Marianne Ohl Phillips, author of Pin-Up Poster Book : The Elvgren Collection

Why Elvgren is the master of Pinup Art
The perfect pinup consists of the skillful presentation of two contradictory conditions: youthful innocence and latent sensuality.

Better than all of his contemporaries,Gil Elvgren has achieved this difficult goal. His philosophy: Sweetness can be sexy, Innocence can be sexy, and Shyness can be devastatingly aggressive.

This book is a magnificent presentation of that philosophy.

In the harmonious blending of his basic elements, Elvgren's works represent the apotheosis of pinup art.

"Best of Elvgren" is a MUST for all collectors.

Grand Slam Writing
What a story! What a Writer! This book puts the issue of abuse in perspective. For those of us who grew up in a "normal" home, this book is an eyeopener for the terrible things that go on behind the closed doors of an abusive family. Alcoholic father, nutty mother, a small rural southern town setting, and you have all the ingredients for a story like this to unfold. If you haven't read this book, you have missed a great opportunity to experience a world most of us never know. My only regret is that five stars is the highest score I can give this book.

A must read for people of all ages
This book gives an insightful treatment of what it is really like for a child to live in an abusive environment. Written in noval form, and based on a true story, this book centers on the growing up times of a little girl in the rural south. A drunkard for a father, and a religiously misguided mother set the stage for unspeakable acts of abuse; things no child should ever have to endure. If you chose to read this book, your life will never be the same.

A Textbook Defintion : Quinn and King's Nightvision
A first glance, brillance. At second glance, revelation. Then there's a burning in your heart. Because, there's nothing that could take the place of Blythe's story.

Make no mistake, as a poor observer to the long standing brillance that is maximus literatti personified, David Quinn gives as good as the reader can get, then feeds you more. Blythe's actions define woman personified: complex at definition by their actions, easily understandable at their core. Defined by the chaos around her, but rising above it, she is triumphant not through her therupatic killing of her kin, the other creatures of nightmare, but through the ascension of her coming to terms with matters of heart and soul. Make no mistake, Blythe, heroine to mankind, is our savior. And yet, like all those who seek martydom through heroism, she is flawed and fragile, compelling us not to pity, but to exalt and worship her.

Master Arcitect Quinn, blessed with Hannibal King's hands and eye, turn in one of the best well written, soul defining, horror stories ever. And this edition, presents the ascension as it should be read, as one contained book.

And to the Pantheons of tragic heroines : Pandora, Helen, Juliet...we add Blythe.

I said it before when this series was in comic form back in 1994, I'll say it again here.

"Quinn has written the defining book on female comic characters, the textbook for all others to study and follow from."

Do yourself a favor, and share souls with Blythe. Come to an understanding for yourself the beauty of this work.

I HIGHLY reccommend it!

What _Vampire_Lestat_ *wanted* to be, yet hadn't the guts!
Fiercely viscious, with a nearly-humanist subtext, BLYTHE pounds away the effeminate, androgynous millstone from the neck of the vampire mythos.

In an incredibly cinematic visual feast of nearly 200 pages, I was engorged with the film-noir delicacy of this book. I encourage anyone interested in truly SMART comics and graphic literature to buy, enjoy and share it.

Andrew Haywood was in trouble!
He knew he'd promised to watch out for Cally DuBois. But he'd never expected to be mooning over a wildflower of a woman who'd just as soon shoot him as look at him!

Sheriff Haywood just kept looking out for her, no matter what kind of weapon she waved at him. And Cally was beginning to think the stubborn man was blinded by that fever she saw in his eyes every time he looked at her. A fever that seemed to be catching!

Cassandra Austin does it again!!
A great classic! Austin delivers a heart-wrenching tale about a independant woman and a man who doesn't want to let her go! 6+stars!!!

Writer Of Realities
What a great and wonderful surprise with the pubication of this book. I expect it will astonish the rest of the world, as well. I wish you much success with your book and hopefully this hidden great gift of yours will nourish and grow more. I have read it and am very touched by its realities to life's wonders and woes. It seems to be everyone in verse. Congratulations to you. I really mean that and my sincere hope your gift of words continue to flourish. Again, well done.

A Poetic Journey
"Catch a Rhyming Star" represents a touching and compelling poetic journey; one woman's journey to emotional fulfillment and self-acceptance. It is a look into the heart of a woman that is deeply complex yet simple in its ability to see the beauty and joy in the most overlooked everyday experiences. We could all learn a great deal from the author, my mother, E. Fay Dyer-Austin, about slowing down and taking time to stop and smell the sunflowers. And Mom, things are smelling sweet!
