A life changing book, a must read for everyone!
Next to the Bible, this book is perhaps the most inspiring and life changing I have ever read. It should be in every individual's library. Buy several and give them as gifts.

Stunning debut collection by promising author
The versatility of this author is really amazing. From language poetry knock-offs and parodies, to dark ruminations on the human condition, to lighthearted short stories and nonfiction pieces, Bentley does it all.

Prison Slang: Words and Expressions Depicting Life Behind Bars

First rate
With my wayward brother George doing another spell in the jug this guide helped me learn all about prison argot. It gives me no pleasure to see him there behind the glass with his botched tattoo, looking all forlorn and grovelling for phone-cards, but at least I can now ask him whether he's yet been hammed by any of his wing's gravy hounds; which is a start.

The must have on Rolls-Royce and post 1931 Bentley
If limited to one definitive book on Rolls-Royce and post 1931 Bentley this would be it. Very readable history as well as a comprehensive tecnical appendix. The idea format for a book on one make cars.

Well presented, concise, imformative, & readable
While not the largest reference on Rolls-Royce & Bentley, this book is one of the most pleasurable I've read on the subject. It is very well presented, concise, informative and readable.

Beginning with the first Royce cars of 1904, the book continues chronologically through the 1996 models. I most enjoyed the sections on the Silver Ghost & those on the later models which are given equal coverage with the popular middle year cars.

The numerous illustrations are very well selected. Especially nice are chassis line drawings for most models and many good interior photos. The color photo gallery in the center is beautiful.

Another useful feature is a technical specification chart, including chassis numbers, for each series. If you would like to invest in just one book to tell the story of Rolls-Royce & Bentley, this would be an excellent choice.

The Ross Ice Shelf:Unknown Territory
This is an amazing collection of anecdotes, history and geography of a little known natural phenomena known as the RIS. I first came across this volume while collecting material for my doctoral disertation, and found in invaluable.

No Guessing Here!
A friend of mine sent me a copy of this book. I loved it. It's a personal experience story but, ooh, soo much more. Obviously, this woman learned from her (and her husband's) experiences. She has filled this book with great insights and perspectives on matters termed "mystical" and has given us their practical applications. This is a hands-on, true life story of an impossible situation involving sudden life threatening events (which can happen to us all) and shows us how we, also, can reach deep inside to tap strengths we could only have guessed we possessed. No guessing here.

Visually Stunning
This book is a true delight. The holiday text is brought to life by the three-dimensional pop-up pictures that thrill and delight. Opening this book is like opening a gift that's a visual treat. The stunning illustrations captivated even casual onlookers as I recently scanned a copy in a bookstore. I am purchasing additional copies for friends. Highly recommended.

Biblical Studies at its best...
The main idea of this book revolves around the oldest new testament manuscripts known to man. Those manuscripts have the complete record of the New Testament from the year 340 AD and on...

One of the chapters is totally dedicated to the history of the monastery of St. Catherine where the manuscripts were found by one of the pillars of biblical studies, Constantine Tischendorf in 1859...

Daringly constructed...
Excellently done...
Extremely challenging...
Amazingly informative...

Beautifully satisfying...
Tremendously comprehensive...
Gigantically convincing...
Bravo...

Sleepy Bear, Sleepy Baby
My 3-yr old daughter has loved this book since she was about a year old. Each page mimics her own bedtime ritual, and she really thinks she is the bear in the book. She enjoys brushing the bear's teeth, rubbing the teddy's belly, reading the little book inside, and turning out the light. Best of all, though, is the last page, which pops up to show the bear and his buddy cuddling up together in a big bed under a silver moon and stars. We are buying another copy so that our 16-month-old can have his own and the two kids will stop fighting over who gets to go night-night with "Sleepy."
