I used this plant guide in Killarney Provincial Park (Ontario) and found it useful for identifying major plant species of the area. This guide is interesting because it includes both a photograph and a line drawing of each plant featured in the guide. Plants are divided into lifeforms (e.g., shrub) and descriptions of each plant within a lifeform are contained in a separate section of the guide. The keys for plant identification are not detailed, but the objective of this book is to provide a simple, non-technical guide for plant identification. The authors meet this objective. For more detailed plant identification, a technical botanical guide (Michigan Flora by Ed Voss) probably should be used instead of Forest Plants of Central Ontario. I recommend Forest Plants of Central Ontario as an interesting, non-technical guide for identifying major plant species of the region. It is appropriate for more advanced botanists as a handy field guide and is also appropriate for investigators who have no formal botanical training but who want to quickly learn to identify plants.

This book encouraged me to study more of my earth science. I am not very successfull in earth science but when i started using this book as a help guide i started doing better in science. i just wanted to say thank you.

The book is compact in its format, but as an index it gives very useful information about the individuals listed in this census in North Carolina. In the forward she gives some guidelines for deciphering the manner in which names were spelled. Individuals' names are arranged alphabetically with an indication of the county they appeared in and the number of their household in that county. Names are spelled as they appeared in the census with occasional cross references to alternate spellings of surnames in parentheses. There is no indication of the ages of individuals. There are two tables in the book listing county names, abbreviations for county names used in the text, and the census microfilm roll number corresponding to each county's full census text. The first page of the book has a map of North Carolina's county boundaries as they appeared at the time of the census. This book is a very handy quick reference to the 1810 North Carolina census. I use it quite often in my own genealogical research.

My almost 3-year old's face lit up when he saw this book come out of the shipping box today. I read it to him over and over. When I had to go into the kitchen to get him a drink, I caught him going through it himself. He is such a big fan of the show on PBS and I had been hoping to find something to extend that. I was very glad to find the book series. All of the planes from the series are featured. The flaps are on hinges and actually slide up or down rather than lifting the flap, which is a nice alternative. The pages are the very sturdy board book variety and the hinges seem strong as well. The illustrations are pretty good too. Really, the only reason I give this book only 4 stars instead of 5 is that the age range on the book says 2-5 years. It might be a little basic for the higher range of that scale, but the younger set will love it!

This book deals with the depth and power of Ted Hughes writing in a way which is readable, yet sufficiently technical to highlight the mechanisms being used. It draws on French theorists, notable Lacan and Kristeva, to expose the poems as being ultimately a search for meaning amongst an ostensibly wild and natural universe. The themes of myth and magic run deep through the book in a manner which matches Hughes' style very closely. I would recommend this book to all who are interested in looking more deeply at this poet's work.

I think this book is of great importance of orthopedic surgeon from their early years of training till they become senior consultant. It is simple & will illustrated with remarkable figures. I think this book should be with every one working in orthopedic.

Interesting and informative about history and actual development of modern (after the Silver Cloud) Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles, without being overly technical.

This is a great book for high school drama groups. Easy to perform plays! My drama group enjoyed putting this one on.

This book is mostly a collection of photographs of snowflakes done over many years by the author, "Snowflake" Bentley. His story is a fascinating one and knowing it adds value to this book. Some of the photos are somewhat clumsily prepared and look less than professional but the infinite designs are fascinating. My children enjoy it and other adults enjoy looking at it when visiting. Overall, an interesting though somewhat amateurish cololection.

What an amazing book indeed, everyone should read it!
