Harry Potter fans - Read this book
This really is a fantastic read. Magical, strange, funny and sometimes sad. I was forever getting the hardback copy of this from my local library. A real treat for readers of all ages. The pictures (drawn by Nicolas Bently) are most fitting.

certainly one of the best books I have ever read
This book kept me gripped as I waited to find the latest twist in the tale and I was never disappointed; it containedg everything from sorcery to high adventure. Dinah and Dorinda are daring, brave and mischevious. This book should certainly be brought back into print and everyone should read it.

the whole family loves this little train set
Our toddler loves trains, so we have many railroad-themed books and toys around the house. Choo-Choo Charlie is a favorite with every member of the family. It looks almost like a book sitting on the shelf, but in two simple unfoldings you have a complete little old-fashioned American rural town (circa 1910?) with pop-up buildings and cardboard stand-up characters and a cute wind-up engine and tender that run along the tiny track. I think that alone fascinates our son. He takes it off the shelf, "assembles " it, plays with it, puts it away, and does it all over again -- just for the delight of having a little town appear so magically. A push button outside the station cafe renders realistic train noises, and the inside flaps of the "book" feature a poem about Choo-Choo Charlie and his busy day.

The only problem with the set is that it's made of thin cardboard and our son has already torn many of the buildings up. On the other hand, it is one of the few toys that we will willingly replace because it is so delightful. A charming toy.

Mom to toddler in So. Cal
My 1 1/2 year old loves his Choo Choo Charlie train book. He asks for it every night. His grandparents bought it at a book sale and we have actually worn the little wind up train out with all the use..definately worth the price and I'll be ordering another one immediately.

Choo Choo Charlie
This is one of the best presents my two year old got this year for his birthday! My sister found it during a booksale at her workplace. I'm buying another one because our little guy has played with Littletown so much that the only thing left intact is the train track...I recently repaired the pushbutton "choo-choo" on the pre-recorded electronic box that comes in the middle of this book to our son's delight. He calls for this book by name pratically every night. The reader from Idaho (Nov 99) sums up this fantastic three dimensional storybook toy combination.

Brava!
The authors were courageous enough to explore and depict the horrors of domestic violence, and conveyed it creatively through powerful characters and circumstances, making for both informative and interesting reading. Well done, ladies!

Fast-paced suspense thriller!
"Dark Justice" is a fast-paced suspense thriller that deals with contemporary issues sensitively, but simultaneously with a head-on attitude that will strike a chord of moral rightness in every reader's psyche. With vividly drawn characters it pulls you into the well-plotted world of Detective Alix Mendez. The tragic yet ultimately satisfying denouement proves this novel is one that is "can't-put-it-down" good. Don't miss it!

This one will keep you up nights
I thoughly enjoyed this book. Meagan and Alex came to life. This is a beautifully crafted book with lots of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down.

The Icky Sticky Anteater
This is the best kids book. I've read it almost every night for the past six months and I still love it.

Delightful for children and adults alike
I stumbled upon this book when I was out of town and looking for a gift for my 4 yr. old daughter. The cute cover - with the Anteaters googly eyes and sticky tongue caught my eye - but it was the clever rhymes and terrific message that made me buy it. I was right, my daughter LOVES it. The illustrations are brilliant (I love the look on the ant's face as he flies out of the Anteaters mouth.) The message of individuality and acceptance is perfect for children. My daughter has near 100 books, and this is one of our favorites.

Icky, Sticky Anteater
This is such a great book! Not only does it deliver a great message, but it is so much fun to read! The rhymes are fantastic! The illustrations are wonderful! I whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone with a little one!

For anyone wanting or needing to use the computer
Safe Computer: How To Protect Your Computer, Your Body, Your Data, Your Money And Your Privacy In The Information Age is specifically designed for anyone wanting or needing to use the computer for the personal and professional needs but are reluctant or uncomfortable in doing so because of all the stories they've heard about computer viruses, hackers, computer fraud, computer crashes, eyestrain, data loss, aching wrists, even identity theft. Tom Bentley takes a clear, comprehensive, reassuring, "reader friendly" approach in teaching the novice computer user how to protect and back up data; avoid computer usage caused aches, pains and repetitive stress injuries; avoid and overcome viruses, worms and Trojan Horses; foil hackers and identity thieves; keep secure from theft and fraud; preserve privacy while Web surfing, and much, much more. Very highly recommended reading guaranteed to restore operator confidence and assurance, Safe Computer is also enhanced with an accompanying CD-ROM.

Buy This Book
Safe Computing is an invaluable reference to protecting one's data, computer, money, privacy and warding off those nasty viruses and worms. It comes with a bonus CD-ROM relative to the contents of the book, for those of you fear too much separation from your computer.

It is written and formatted in a layout that is quickly accessible as you consider tossing caution to the winds and exposing your wider identity/credit card numbers to that amorphous and uncertain Cyber-World. Furthermore, when your eyes are burning, your back hunched like so many Quasimodo computer geeks, and your wrists twinging after all-night forays on the Internet, it offers a pleasing alternative to the computer screen. Unlike those software manuals, it is actually the sort of book that you may wish to keep close by your computer, for a much-needed chuckle at Mr Bentley's writing style, as well as its topical hints. It may even find its way into parents and parents-in-law Christmas stockings this year, to ward off those pesky questions concerning computing (which you can never seem to answer adequately anyhow).

A comprehensive reference manual it is, so toss out those slighter volumes about trying to protect your kids from all the mayhem on the net or how to sit up straight when typing away, and buy it.

A wealth of great lesson plans just waiting to be adapted!
Tom Bentley's self help manual offers lots of wonderful information to help anyone who deals with computers but, as a high school info tech (or computer)teacher I especially have found it beneficial. His pointers, advise and general information have practical application for the computer class, career preparation and business computing. I would even recommend it as a manual for employers who are concerned about the well being of employees and their computers.

Bentley has found a common sense approach for passing on information which is neither preechy or condescending. In short, I found this book to be a great read and a lot of help to me personally and the students I am teaching.

The Longaberger Consultant and Bentley's Guide
I am a Longaberger consultant and have every Bentley's Guide ever published, including an autographed first copy. It is a great help in promoting the value of our products (the fact that they appreciate, not depreciate)! It has been of great help in increasing insurance coverage, not only for myself, but also for customers. I had one customer who lost items in a fire; we used the guide for the replacement value for the insurance company. I now have customers who purchase their own Guide.

The Bentley Collection Guide 8th Edition : The reference too
This was a great book. I wish that I had the book earlier, when I first started collecting Longaberger Baskets. This is a very good reference book I will use for years to come.

THE Book for Longaberger Collectors
This is the book to use to evaluate your Longaberger collection or to help evaluate a basket before you buy. A must for any collector that trades on the secondary market! The book is divided into sections by basket type and includes an index for quick referencing. Take it along to the next basket auction you attend!

The Most Beautiful VIllages of Tuscany
Don't leave this book on your coffee table. Take it anywhere you can dream. The pictures are so clear you can smell the air and run your hands over the bricks. The copy is crisp and well written. The perfect book to sit with in front of the fire, when the wind is howling and dream of warmer climates and clear skies.

A Voyeur's Paradise
This large format hard cover masterpiece squeezes all the natural beauty out of the Tuscan landscape. Hugh Palmer floods the pages with gigantic panoramic photos of almost forty villages in Tuscany, many of which are never visited by the average tourist. If nothing else, this book has convinced me to wander off the well-beaten tourist track to get a real taste of the rich landscape and architecture that hides there. This book is not only a magnificent inspiration for a magical tour of Tuscany, but after, the best possible way to remember the experience of being there.

A Gorgeous Tribute To Italy!
This book is more than a well-researched travel guide. It's also the most gorgeous tribute to Italy I've ever seen. I'm an Italian, living in Como, and have visited every one of the villages in the book and I can tell you, they are as gorgeous as the authors' interpretations. The photographs are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and, like a previous reviewer, I, too, get misty-eyed just looking at them. If you want to travel to Italy or just love Tuscany, you won't go wrong with this book!

Sailors of the Past!!
It's really interesting to look at old photographs and imagine times gone by, what it was like to live at that time, and what the people in the photos were really like. Sailor has gathered together in one book over 150 never-before published snapshots of sailors and portraits spanning over a century of time. If you ever dreamed of being a sailor you will find these photos fascinating. The youthful men, the masculine exuberance, & companionship shown in these black & white and sepia-tone snapshots are a peak into a sailor's real life. If we could only stay as youthful and handsome all our lives as these photos show, how wonderful that would be.

So if you're a lover of old photos, or a serious collector, or if you just enjoy looking at men in uniform, you will enjoy this book. I felt like I was looking through an older friends personal photo album. Kevin Bentley did a wonderful job in gathering together these old anonymous photos, and the book design by J. White is perfect. I really enjoyed this collection of photos.

With 150 authentic and visually stunning period photographs
In Sailor: Vintage Photos Of A Masculine Icon, Kevin Bentley has compiled more than 150 authentic and visually stunning period photographs of the sailor. In doing so he showcases the mystery, adventure, camaraderie, exuberance, and romantic allure of the young men who sailed the seas as work and at play. Sailor is a highly recommended collection for students of photography and a nostalgic tour-de-force for anyone who has every traveled the world aboard a naval ship with their friends and comrades.

WOW, what a treasure trove of amazing images.
The scope of this collection is stunning, it almost made me consider joining the Navy! These beautiful young men joined together in true affection is a must have for anyone who appreciates male photography.

Review from an ameture
Very thorough, gives instructions on all types of repairs and tells you when you shouldn't attempt the repair as an ameture. Useful for sounding smart to service pros too. My only complaint is that it could use a better index. You might consider checking out a chilton's book as a cross reference, it might explin some things better, though it wont give you the depth and volume.

Never touched my 82 rabbit until now
I have been curious about automotive repair since I own a rabbit with 303,000 miles and counting. I needed to replace the rear struts and wheel bearings, glow plugs, lights, and oil pump. The book covers all areas well with very good details and drawings. However, for the glow plugs it says something stupid as "it's like changing a spark plug" and that was it. No it's not. It's pure hell. You have to remove the injector lines and hoses and the first 2 injectors to have some work space and replace the heat shields on the first 2 injectors when putting it back. Other that I have really enjoyed this book.

From novice to greasy novice
I picked up my copy of Volkswagen Rabbitt/Jetta Diesel Service Manual Including Pickup Truck and Turbo-Diesel 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 used in an Albuquerque, New Mexico junkyard. I knew little more than how to put gas in, but since my purchase I have replaced or repaired the radiator, brake servo vacuum pump, hoses, window cranks and battery. All I needed to make the car run great was the parts and this book. Perfect for those brave souls willing to get grease under their nails.

Learning and saving money too!
Well of course first you have to spent some money to get the book, but that is soon forgotten as you start reading it and using it's content to take care of your car.(In casu a '92 245 2.3 POLAR).

Detailed DIY book
This is the third Bentley service manual I've purchased within this year and I am happy with this one.
The information can be used with volvo 740 and 940(The same engine and transmissions are used) My only complain is that the book does not cover AW70/71 transmission in detail.
