Get out and ride, and take this book with you.
This is a great book to get out and around if you don't have "inside" information on where to bike. I can only comment on the Central Ontario section, which is fairly complete, although it does leave out a few county forests that are excellent rides. One weakness of the book is that the trail maps are not very accurate, especially in large, relatively unmarked areas like Durham Forest, where a compass is usefull. I highly recommend this book. Added bonus is that a lot of these trails make great cross country skiing in the winter.

MT Bike! The deep south
Great book for info on trails in LA, MS, AL, GA. I am familiar with the trails in LA and MS and the author's interpretation of the trails is very accurate from difficulty of the trail to trail condition. He did miss a couple of trails in LA. One is relatively new and located at Bodacau Park (army corps of engineers). Good technical trail. Off I-20. The Kisatchie National forest trails (caroline dorman and one other) are probably not good to ride right now as there are forest fires flaring in that area 7/00. Those trails are rather rocky to ride too. Cheers. This is a great book!

Mountain Bike! Southwestern British Columbia
A fairly comprehensive guide to Southwest BC. I've been doing some weekend road trips from Seattle and this guidebook has been a tremendous help. The maps are easy to follow and the route descriptions have been accurate so far. My only complaint is that the majority of rides are under 12 miles (though many rides can be combined to make longer days). Still, there is a good variety of rides including ones for less advanced riders. For riders living in the area or heading up for a vacation/road trip this guide should prove a good investment.

Book review
this book was very thourgh in the area of trail technical difficulty, however the directions to the various trails can be a little confusing. Overall this book can take you to some spectacular riding areas and put you in touch with those that can lead you to more trails.

Great, thorough, detailed, & very informative
This book gives the off-road cyclist a great amount of information on a variety of trails. It covers location, length , & difficulty of the trails it reviews. There is also information about the Chambers of Commerce close to the trails. A must buy for experts & novices alike.

Helpful guide
Bromka does a good job of organizing a very large group of rides. His descriptions, however, were often limited and repetitive. Overall, though, I found the book to be very helpful.

This book is concise! If you are looking for the perfect Harley, then this book helps match you up with a the right dealer. This book also has an extensive international section for those outside of the United States looking to obtain "America's Motorcycle." It would also make a great gift for the motorcycle fanatic in your family.

A good book for riders of all types
This was an excellent book that helped me a great deal. I was able to fix almost any problem with my bike and now i consider myself a good repair man and have started fixing friends bikes. It included helpful text and pictures. However the reason it was only given a four was because in some of the smaller pieces it didn't give a good enough discription.j

Basics of Bike repair
This is a book small enough to fit in a cycling jersey pocket. It has color pictures, nearly at least one on each page. It has 12 chapters that cover preventive maintenance, wheels, gearings, drivetrains, brakes, steering, saddles, suspension and accesories. It covers a lot of subjects in only 96 pages, so the information is basic. This means that if you need to repair something a little unusual, you won't find it here. It doesn't have many diagrams, which I think are necesary for this kind of manuals, and many bike parts are mentioned supposing the reader knows what they are. On the other hand, the format helps to carry it on a trip, and the author recomends to do preventive maintenance rather than emergency repairs. The information, while basic, is very useful, is easy to find and will get you out of trouble. The procedures for each adjustment or repair are given in three parts: an introduction about why and when to do the repair, a list of tools needed, and a step by step guide.

My advice is to buy it, and if you want to do all the mechanic work on your bike (maybe other bikes too), think about buying a larger manual too.
