Excellent book, highly recommended
Mr. Bond's wonderful book not only enlightens the reader to many fascinating biographies of the fathers and mothers of our hymnal, but tells a story in an interesting way in order to even keep the interest of young children. I highly recommend it to all, young and old, especially to be placed in a homeschool study. It is refreshing to see a book that tells the story of the important history of our church that has been so lacking before, especially in a children's book form. I highly commend Mr. Bond for his work.

A wonderful resource!
For several years we've memorized hymns as a family, so when I found this book I was ecstatic. We're reading it a chapter a month and learning one of the hymns that goes with each story. It's obvious that an amazing amount of research went into this book, but somehow it doesn't feel as though the information is being stuffed into you. The stories become real. I look forward to reading the second one in the series, and hope to see others in the future. *note--the book includes lyrics and music for many of the hymns. I don't play an instrument, so we've learned some of the tunes from the Cyber Hymnal, another resource well worth checking out!

The Nature of the Chemical Bond and the Structure of Molecules and Crystals; An Introduction to Modern Structural Chemistry.

One of the Masterpiece
This book is one of the Masterpiece in Chemistry.
You simply can not rate this book in stars values. It is one of the EPIC in Chemistry.
I should say it is a bible or Bhagavad-Gita for chemists,

An all time classic
"It is better to foresee, even without certainty, than not to foresee at all", writes Linus Pauling in the preface of this book, which has become a sort of bible for chemists. When I first read this book, I thought that it was unnecessarily detailed. But then, as I patiently went through the chapters, I realised that Pauling has truly "foreseen with certainty" in his career and discoveries, which is slowly but surely revealed in this book.I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how a few simple scientific ideas lead to the explanation of literally hundreds of phenomena. In this book, the two times Nobel Prize winner has beautifully demonstrated how his classic 'Valence Bond Theory' can be applied to explain the bewildering array of atoms, molecules and crystals around us.In each chapter, the author introduces certain classic principles like resonance, electronegativity, partial ionic character of bonds, partial double bond character, and hybridization. These concepts are today the cornerstone of the description of thousands of simple molecules. It should be noted that the valence bond approach has its drawbacks, which Pauling does not discuss. It is also true that the Molecular Orbital Theory has replaced his theory in making quantitative calculations. However, Pauling's masterly style of writing and the insights which almost each and every page of this book give the reader, are unparalleled.Even though the book would perhaps not prove useful as a modern chemistry book, I think it should be read by each and every chemist and chemistry student as the ultimate example of simplicity, variety and beauty. It is one of the finest examples of how one extraordinary scientist tries to explain diverse chemical phenomena with a few simple ideas.

Hilarious!! You won't be able to put it down!
I love humorous romance stories and this is definitely one of the best that I've ever read. Make sure you read it alone because you won't be able to stop laughing!!

Hilarious!! A fast-paced, page turner.
This book kept me laughing page after page. I couldn't put it down, so I stayed up all night to finish it.

Cindy is the General Manager of an old, historic hotel. The hotel has a reputation for attracting unusual clientele (Trek fans, Adult Toy Salesmen to name a few). Eric is a sophisticated bureaucrat sent by management to investigate the unusual reports about Cindy and to evaluate her hotel. The problem is, he arrives without her knowing who he is. Cindy's antics and the problems that occur with the hotel are uproariously funny. For a while, she even thinks Eric is one of the Adult Toy Salesmen!!!

You must read this book if only to unravel the story behind the blue silk pajamas and to commiserate with Cindy and her many disasterous hair make-overs. The characters are all well-developed from the hotel barber to the concierge. I loved them all! I've always enjoyed books by Stephanie Bond but NAUGHTY OR NICE? is one of her best.

The Neo-Gnostic Christian Mystic
Of all the great Christian mystics that I have read, Nicholas de Cusa is one of the finest. In the masterpiece "On Learned Ignorance" he reveals the "coincidence of opposites," which is the point in infinity when all opposites unite and become blended together in God's infinity--i.e., the two points of a line converging and becoming unified, or equal. He believed that Jesus Christ is the Gate Keeper of the "coincidence of opposites." We can only understand God through a "learned ignorance" because God is beyond being, beyond all understanding. This work alone is worth the cost of the entire book. Also included are "Dialogue on the Hidden God," "On Seeking God," "On the Vision of God," and "On the Summit of Contemplation." All these works together form a synthesis in Nicholas' philosophy/theology. Nicholas was very gnostic. He takes Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite's mysticism to the next level, if that is even possible. You will also see the obvious influence that Meister Eckhart had on him. There's a wonderful Foreward, Introduction, Abbreviations, Notes to the Text, A Brief Glossary of Cusan Terms, Select Bibliography, and Indexes. This book is a must have for any Christian-mysticism collection. I highly recommend this volume.

A Delightful Experience!
This book affords the scholar and novice alike a wonderful foray into the thought of Nicholas of Cusa. A fine collection of principal titles by Cusanus, this book is one full of enigmatic charm and probing insight! The forward and introduction provide a helpful entryway to the texts which are supplemented by a useful glossary of key terms and several notes.

My Kid's First Love
Bond, James Bond. Say those words in my house and it's panic stations all around. This was the only book I could find on the James Bond movie series when they were little. It really is a well published book with over a hundred photographs with many in color. It is written with the younger reader in mind so it was just perfect. Timothy Dalton was just starting as James Bond so he's on the cover but it does cover each film up to "The Living Daylights." We still have it and read it (well, look at the pictures).

Celebrating James Bond for 25 Years
This is one of the best books on the James Bond series. Sally Hibban first issued this book to coincide with the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the James Bond films and the introduction of Timothy Dalton as James Bond back in 1987. It is profusely illustrated with beautiful color photographs especially from DR. NO, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and OCTOPUSSY. Rather than being a critique of the Bond series, author Hibban dedicates a chapter to each film focusing on the highlights of each. Hibban's book is a tribute to the celebration of 25 years of James Bond on the screen. This is a very enjoyable and colorful book and is a good souvenir of the series. Albert R. Broccoli wrote the Introduction.

A "must" for all Paddington Bear fans and young readers.
Parents will want to use this as read-aloud material: it provides a thick treasury of Paddington Bear stories, accompanied by Peggy Fortnum's line drawings watercolored by her step-granddaughter. Paddington Bear is always in trouble, and this provides an excellent, whimsical set of adventures for newcomers and prior Paddington fans in a fine keepsake edition.

Please look after this bear
Paddington, a small bear from "darkest Peru," definitely needs looking after as he always finds himself in one sticky situation after another. I discovered P. only a few years ago. I had MEANT to read the P. books for YEARS, but somehow hadn't gotten around to it. After I finally read A Bear Called Paddington, frequently laughing out loud at Paddingtons' "situations," I immediately found the next three books, then the next three...

I am delighted that the Paddington books have now been bound in one volume and am equally delighted to be adding this to my collection.

Great book
I really enjoyed this book on two levels. First is is interesting in that it covers the scientific proving of saturation decompression. Second, it is a good read. So many diving books require discipline to finish. Not this one. Highly recommended for decompression divers.

A gem of a book that's much more than its title suggests.
Papa Topside not only captures the heydays of saturation diving leading up to and including the U.S. Navy's SeaLab I,II and III programs - that it does admirably, but it also provides the reader with a unique insight into a warm, humorous and kind hearted man, George Foote Bond, CAPT, MC USN. Any diver who has ever pondered the decompression question will find this a highly informative book - factual, but not overly technical. But it's much more than a book about diving physiology. For this reader the book's main attraction was vicariously meeting a most interesting man and, through him, getting to know many of the people whose lives he touched. Beginning with his days as Dr. George - a country doctor in rural North Carolina, it follows his work in creating the first hospital in the remote area of his practice and then follows his entry into the U.S. Navy where his lifelong passion for diving and dive medicine began. Dr. Bond is the indisputable father of saturation diving and developed the respect and love of those who dove while "Papa" or "Pappy" as he was known, maintained the "topside" watch over all the intricate variables that go into the saturation equation. His frustrations, challenges, victories and defeats - including the tragic loss of a Sealab III aquanaut - are all chronicled in the form of a daily log which Dr. Bond meticulously maintained. But to suggest that reading this book, edited admirably by Helen Siiteri, is merely a dry re-reading of someone else's notes would be grossly inaccurate - if not downright misleading. The author was an undergraduate English major which becomes evident within the first few pages. Reading the book, I felt as though I was sitting in a cozy, book-lined den somewhere while Dr. Bond, puffing his ever present pipe, talked to me about his life, diving and the U.S. Navy. His candor, humility and wonderful sense of humor are a breath of fresh air in today's politically correct world. For example, having learned that a colleague gave up pipe smoking, Dr. Bond provides the most eloquent defense of this pastime I've ever read. Reading this fine book, one gets the increasing sense that we all lost a friend when Dr. Bond passed away in 1983. True to his roots, he is buried back in rural North Carolina near his devoted patients. As a former U.S. naval officer and active diver myself, I suppose the highest praise I could give "Papa Topside" would be to say that it made me feel sorry that I will never get the opportunity to meet Pappy in person and dive under his careful eye. I was truly sorry to reach the book's last page.

an essential dramatist
as fine a writer as england has produced since the second world war. these plays represent bond simply and completely, as a man of passion and vision and a writer that any reader or writer MUST reckon with if they wish to have an understanding of modern drama. genius, and handed out when the word is knowingly overused. here it is earned.

A social dramatist with insight into modern society.
If you are considering the plays of Bond there is no better place to start than here, at the beginning of his career. This volume contains his first three plays. Whether you have seen thse works performed or not is irrelevant. Just reading them is an interesting experience. This is essential modern literature! Bond's introductions (to all the volumes of his collected plays) are also essential. They have a socialist leaning but are not too preachy. Bond's self-educated working-class position gives his articulate essays a powerful punch. (A punch modern society needs.) I would buy these volumes just for these introductions, they are that good!

After this, go on to PLAYS:TWO for the brilliant LEAR.

Poinsettia is a lovable little pig!
I found this book in the classroom library of a fellow teacher, and was thrilled as I had just finished a unit on "family" and used Poinsettia and her Family, by Felicia Bond. My preschoolers LOVED this book! When I borrowed and read this title, we fell in love with it as well!

My son LOVES this book!
This is the first "long" book my 2 year old has actually wanted to read. And we read it several times each day. The pictures are great and my son seems to relate to the storyline. A must read for toddlers!

A readable and thorough introduction to fixed income markets
Extremely readable. One could read this book in a single sitting and get a great jumpstart to an understanding of fixed income markets - the why and the how.

Wiseman has an engaging style of writing which prevents the stifled yawns normally associated with reading this genre, and keeps one turning the pages...

The book nicely covers the fundamental theory of why there exists a fixed income market, then turns to the players and discusses what they do, and finally covers some of the fundamental trading strategies and math employed to turn a buck.

Nice one...

i could not put this book down
i found this book very well written. It provides detail and yet covers that what it says it does. I find that Wiseman explains concepts in a verystraight forward way. Although i had to pause to eat and think about some of the financial products discussed such as "par yields". I found I was able to understand the book. The book contains some of the trader jargon and a outline of the players involved in the market. I think that anyone who wants to something with securities or trading should read this, before/during/after an intership. As the english say "Wiseman" is the dogs ballocks!! get this book!
