A must for soon-to-be-grandparents
When Alma Bond, a practicing psychoanalyst of 38 years, discovered she was to be a grandparent, she kept a diary to record the child's intrauterine development as well as any psychological changes within her family. What she discovered was far more than she had expected.

Suddenly, or so it seems, our children are all grown-up & having children of their own. Whatever happened to all those fond, dim memories of their childhoods? Where were we, as parents? What are our children's memories of what we were doing in our own prime of life?

This is a sincere record of the author's insights, her musings on what she learnt from the travails of her patients' lives, her examination of her feelings toward her own mother, as well as her very real wisdom about how our minds work through our struggles

A fascinating journal of exploration & the perfect gift for anyone about to graduate into grandparenthood!

Cover Art, Mr. Fleming, and Mission Info
Alright, people, don't get mad. This book didn't have a review so I decided I would be the first person to share my thoughts. However, Ive never read the book in my life, therefore I can't judge it as you can see. However, if its anything like the movie starring George Lazenby and Diana Rigg, it will be very good. In this story James Bond (007) is fighting crime as usual where his mission takes him to an artic location. There he will have to outwit and outgun his opponents. I heard that this novel was one of Flemings firsts in the 007 series. And based on what people say, Flemings first were very extraoridnary and very amazing. Fleming is an excellent writer and the cover art looks pretty nifty. A woman lying in a snow slope. Pretty darn sexy. Unfortunately, this is all I can say. I did not rate the book 5 stars, just the story. Keep in mind that the novel may be different from the movie. Have fun!

I wish I thought of that.
A continuation of his first book. His ideas are so stupid, that they are funny. A book for cat haters and lovers.

Orangeburgh District, 1768-1868: History and Records

Amazon base price: $50.00

One of the best
This book is an almost indispensable tool for genealogists researching in South Carolina and the area known as the old Orangeburgh District. Lack of official records in South Carolina, especially in the "burned counties," makes it frustratingly difficult to track down the kind of information that fills in the gaps for family historians. Culler's efforts have brought together a wealth of information about the area, not only the bare facts and figures, but the kind of details that make the people and places come alive. Chapters include Nineteenth Century Homes, Churches and Their Influence, Newspapers and Periodicals, Blacks--Slave and Free, Schools Academies and Teachers, Lawyers Legislators and Public Officials, among others. There is also information from the 1850 Orangeburgh District census, listings of Confederate Military Companies, listings of local legislators, and more. While there are occasional factual mistakes, the book is well-researched and generally quite accurate.

P.B. goes to the hospital
The new Paddington Bear series is a nice introduction to The Bear. How nice that younger kids can now enjoy his antics! This particular book will, of course, be especially good to read to a child who is going into the hospital and would be a nice compliment to Curious George goes to the hospital. Or, if you simply enjoy P.B., read this book too!!

Let's Have Lots More Paddington!
As a librarian, I have a fondness for, indeed a fascination for, good children's literature. I've loved Paddington since childhood, and am pleased to see new Paddington stories out. Hopefully, there'll be some more full-length books as well. It is funny that Michael Bond once said that he'd never go into Paddington's past in a book--yet he does here. No matter--this book is a treat for the Paddington fan who's followed all the old books, finally explaining how Paddington was orphaned, how he came to live with his aunt, even his original name in Peru. There are all sorts of little touches of this lovable, well-meaning, and very polite little bear's personality throughout ("Suppose I hadn't gone to Paddington Station? I might have been named 'Mornington Cross'!") R. W. Alley's illustrations are charming, capturing our little friend's personality and charm. (Everyone in the bookstore thought I was crazy...they kept hearing "Awww..." every time I turned the page.) And it's good to see Paddington's spelling has improved so much! All in all, a treat for the lifelong fan and the newcomer. Now, when are we going to see Paddington on the big screen?

Hilarious Story
This is a hilarious story of Paddinton, who decides to bake a cake while Mrs and Mr Brown are not at home. He makes a spectacular mess which he decides to clean up with the vacuum. Unfortunately he sucks up the cake and when he reverses the vacuum, spews it all over the kitchen. Luckily, he gets it all cleaned before Mr and Mrs brown return form town.

I liked this book
I liked this book because it was funny, surprising, and happy. I liked it when Paddington fell into the river because it was funny. I recommend this book for ages 6-9. If you can, try to read the whole Paddington series.
