Fine book
My four year-old enjoys this book very much. It is an oversized paperback with simple drawings (simpler than the original books) but very enjoyable. Paddington causes mayhem at Buckingham Palace while going to meet the Queen - getting trapped in a suit of armour and scaring the servants, falling into a vat of the cook's marmalade glaze. The Queen takes it all in stride and at the end she and Paddington settle down to a chat over marmalade sandwiches. My daughter loves the Paddington books after first seeing the old British series (with stop-motion puppet Paddington) that Disney originally brought over from England many years ago. She finds the new, dubbed-into-American-accent Paddington cartoon a little confusing.

Splendid illustrations create warm atmosphere!
Fred Banbery's illustrations make Paddington's Garden a treat! The original hardback edition has a warm lemon yellow cover showing Paddington's garden! The adventures that Paddington has making his garden are true to his unique personality. The illustrations bring to life the atmosphere of the Brown family home and their love for the little bear who lives with them!

A good sequel to "The Best of Enemies"
Oliver is the main character, and Charlotte, too. This book is about relationships. It is poignant and sweet and about how Oliver has to leave for London while Charlotte stays in Concord. Read "The Best of Enemies" first, then this, and then to end the series, "The Love of Friends". Read them all, please.

Poinsettia & Her Family
Published in Paperback by Crowell (January, 1981)
Author: Felicia Bond
Amazon base price: $7.89
Used price: $6.99

A Wonderful Read-Aloud Book
Poinsettia wants to curl up with her favorite book but all of the best places are being used by her many brothers and sisters. She thinks there is not enough room in their house until she is left home alone all day. By the time everyone returns, Poinsettia has decided her family and their house is just right. The author, Felicia Bond, has created charming illustrations and amusing characters. She uses wonderfully vivid description, "If the sun was coming in the window just right, it would spread like warm butter across the pages of her book." At 32 pages it would be an excellant book for reading aloud to younger children.

A Powerful Piece on Pilate
At last, a well argued, clear, thoughful and incisive academic book on Pilate. Bond has a clear grasp of first-century culture, both Roman and Jewish, and handles texts highly effectively. As yet, this book is the serious historical piece on Pilate that has no competition over its academic credentials.

The Practitioner's Guide to Interest Rate Risk Management
Published in Hardcover by Graham & Trotman, Incorporated (January, 1992)
Author: Bernard Manson
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

One of the very best around
Bernard Manson's text is excellent. He writes clearly and really delivers on the practitioner's guide as well as on the theory. A professionals bookshelf should have copies of Hull and Manson to show that they are serious. I would welcome a second edition if at all possible.

Covers the bases
I really enjoyed this book. I just finished it, and I found it to be very informative and easy to read. I really like Tommy Tenny's style. He breaks prayer down into about ten different types, which I find to be very true, and it really helps to get things in perspective. Especially good are his chapters on "prayers of emptying" and "prayers of commitment." They confirmed things I have known, and revealed new things to me. I highly recommend this book.

Principles of Electronic Circuits
Published in Hardcover by PWS Publishing Co. (January, 1987)
Authors: Stanley G. Burns and Paul R. Bond

Collectible price: $15.88

An excellent text for introductory electronics
During my introductory electronics course I studied from both Sedra/Smith and this text. In my opinion, Burns and Bond is a better text. The incorporation of SPICE in Burns/Bond gives valuable insight in the design of electronic circuits. The Burns/Bond text is also more straightforward than Sedra/Smith. The presentation style of some topics in Sedra/Smith makes them difficult to learn. This is not the case in Burns/Bond. This is an excellent text

Private use of Tax-Exempt Bonds
This guide book is a little outdated as tax laws do change like Washington changes it underwear but overall, it is an excellent reference book and the basics are still true. Recommend it highly

Problem-Solving Exercises in Physics
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (K-12) (January, 1999)
Author: Jennifer Bond Hickman
Amazon base price: $16.30
Used price: $9.95
Average review score:

Excellent for college or high school algebra-based physics
Each chapter starts with a two or three page review of the relevant physics. There are many detailed examples neatly worked out. Then there are numerous exercises, often with good real-world relevance. This is not a revolutionary book, but I strongly recommend it to physics teachers and students alike. It is a good supplement for any algebra-based physics course. A teacher's edition is also available.
