The story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton is an important part of the education of young children. This book is useful in that it relates the story of her childhood, but, the conclusion was weak and the reader is left feeling discouraged-this little girl excels in everything she tries, unfortunately, because of the time period is excluded from higher education. We find out that she married and had a lot of children and was still able to find time to help other women and she worked hard to change the way women and children were treated by society. We are given no insight into what changes she was an important part of-I came away from the book understanding very little of what she actually did. Just a few sentences discussing the legislation and laws she was intimately involved in changing, just saying she was an important figure in the women's movement and actively worked for the right of women to vote and to be treated equally, would go a long way towards making this a truly illuminating book.

A cursory review of this title reveals a fair presentation of unremarkable material.

The author is giving away no secrets and is charging a premium for information that is better found away.

Not a bad book, easy for kids to understand, good pictures,well worth the money.

The Illustrated Directory of Guitars tracks the evolution of the acoustic and the electric guitar in two seperate sections. It's a handy size for carrying in your bag, and full of interesting information about the different developments and excellent pictures showing details of guitar models on every page. The influence of many designers and performers is described in brief.

Unfortunately, the publisher provided no index to the information, and only a very vague contents page. (eg. Acoustic guitars, section 2: Twentieth Century Developments pp. 79-218) It can hardly be called a directory if there's no way of looking up the information!

If you just want a book to read cover-to-cover or to open randomly, though, this could be the book for you.

Very dry reading... page after page of spreadsheets, very interesting just to sit and read through from cover to cover, but if you are looking for a certain answer to a certain question, very hard to find anything in here unless you already know where to look... Most of the spreadsheets are spread out over two page lengths, and it's easy to get lost in transit...

From the point near the beginning where the master asks his dog to confirm that the sauce has too much salt, to the point where the lady of the house is successfully tricked into thinking that the puppet she just made love to was a real man, the reader is constantly challenged to find anything in the plot of this book that does not strain credulity. If you can treat it like a TV skit and simply accept it, you may have fun with this book. My wife certainly did, and toward the end I too found a smile on my face as I bought increasingly into the book's absurdities, like a mathematician smiling at a student's interesting but ultimately flawed computations. So I give it a "5" for the good times.

I love the lightness of these little tales; what a refreshing escape. The French setting,the cuisine, Monsieur himself and the intrepid hound Pomme Frites are all delicious.

I am a 21-year-old college student, and I gave the book 3-stars due to it being hard for me to follow. On the other hand, Paddington's shinanigans were pretty funny.

Spring cleaning can be fun if you are cleaning with Paddington Bear. This book helps children learn their colors, while re-enforcing them with bright illustrations. The book, writeen without a storyline, allows children to tell their own version. Also, there are some points in the book when the different colors are mixed together, helping children understand this process. A great addition to a preschooler's bookshelf.

This colorful and well illustrated book helps children learn their opposites, through bold words and illustrations of these words. Although only one word is on each page, the illustrations lend themselves to discussion about the pictures and why the pages are different and opposites. Great for helping children learn opposites. The book even includes an end for children to match the opposites. Great addition to a preschool or your young child's collection.
