I discovered this only because my youngest cousin, who goes to Harvard, read it in a course and came home insisting that I read it too. I take a strong interest in my ancestry (I'm Italian American, the grandson of immigrants) and this book hit me right between the eyes. It is one man's search for the meaning of his ethnicity and all the goodness that comes with it, before it all slips away. Tonelli writes in a funny, quirky, totally absorbing style that's never dry or ponderous. But he's writing about some of the most deeply meaningful, even sometimes sad aspects of being part of a genuine community in a time when community in American seems (to me) to be on the wane. This is the kind of book that could (and should) have become a minor classic of literary nonfiction, and also a book that every ethnic American would want to read, but I gather it did not back in '94 when it came out. But if you can find a copy today, grab it fast and get ready for a thrill.

I used this manual to make practical repairs to a 1983 Cavalier. It gave detailed and very comprehensive information, with lots of photos and drawings to guide me through every step of maintenance, repair, or overhaul. A shop manual is a reference. You want to be able to find information fast. This Clymer book, is designed with such use in mind!

If it's info on a Buick you're looking for, then you'll certainly find it here. This book is a must for any Buick owner (like myself) who really want to know the details about their car. Even cars from the mid-80's are photographed and described in detail. Everything from transmission gear ratios; wheelbase, overall length, height, and other measurements for all models; suspension; engine specs on standard and optional models; and sooooooo much more. Listed by year. Even includes articles on the history of Buick. Excellent book!

This is a 'must-have' for any Buick enthusiast. It includes many articles written by recognized Buick historians. Great photos and detail. A complete year by year description of each model with specs and pictures. All the things you want to know about your Buick. A good description of how to determine the condition of the car, and an approximate value guide according to the condition (this is a little dated, but gives you an idea). The Buick Clubs info in the back is completely out of date.

The Buick Grand National, T-type, and GNX - Facts and Figures Book, Volume II simply takes off where Vol I stopped. This volume covers additional material and information not covered in Volume I. Volume II includes Service Technical Bulletins, Dash Cluster information, Wheels, Steering and Trim, Dealer Order Guides, and even Window Sticker Information. Adding Volume II to Volume I will give you around 600 pages of Buick GN, Ttype, and GNX Information!

Long before the small block chevy hunted the streets, the GMC was the way to go. California Bill tells all. Fun to read, cool to browse, I'm always picking mine up. Turn up the way back machine Sherman and gaze at ancient speed parts offered by long forgotten manufacturers. It's an exact copy of the original and you don't have top worry about the binding falling apart. Very Cool.

Although the Chevrolet 9C1 Caprice is about as durable and long lasting as a car can be something will break sooner or later. One can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by doing what repairs he can without taking the car to a shop. This manual will help anyone make such repairs. Even if you do not repair your own car it will help you to better comprehend and diagnose any problems you may encounter. That will save you money by knowing what is wrong before being deceived by a dishonest repair shop. For those that do repair their own vehicles this book explains in great detail and understandable terminology what to do and how to do it. The Haynes manual is much easier to read and understand than the Chiltons books. The only drawback the Caprice manual is that it does not go into complete detail on the differences between the civilian Caprices and the 9C1 Police package Caprice. That aside it is well worth the cost. I have saved well over $5000 in repair cost over the 350,000 miles I have traveled with this book in my library.

This manual has all the info needed for your A/G-body Buick. It has very complete info from the V6's to V8's, olds V8's, Olds diesels (V6 and V8), and the turbo 3.8 V6 found in the Grand Nationals and T-types. It has pages and pages of vacuum and electrical diagrams, troubleshooting ECM codes, everything. About 1 1/8" thick of manual. Worth every penny!

I don't know what the wiring is for an 1988 Buick Century. I also don't have a manuel. I was going to put a cd player in it and I needed to know the wiring fir it.

I need to know that is the maximum voltage from alternator buick century 1991 year.

With lots of pictures, this manual is something I wish I had bought long ago. It helps first-timers do things like change the oil, and hardcore pros overhaul engines and transaxles. It shows how to take apart consoles and such which almost look inpermeable at first. Power antenna on the fritz? It's in here. Need new brakes? It really is not hard, and if fully detailed and illustrated in this book. This is just a really essential tool for you, and is just as valuable as your ratchet wrench.
