Superb companion for the worldly wine drinker
This book is both informative and beautifully presented. The descriptions of the wine growing regions, grape types and regional specialties makes looking up the bottle you have just opened a treat, and the illustrations of the hills and valleys producing the best wines in the world makes you want to travel there to taste the wine at the source. Thoroughly recommened.

An early sign of a great talent
This is one of Amos Oz's earlier works and the reader can already notice his amazing skill with words. The book contains two stories: The first one takes place in Medieval Europe and tells the story of a crusade that begins after several ominous events spread through the villages. With his unique language Oz leads the reader through the crusade that soon becomes a horrifying descent into the darkest pits of human cruelty, primal fears and blind violence and torture unto the eventual tragic ending of the novella. The second story describes the small, uneventful life of a lonely old man and his fantasies - about the nurse in the outpatient clinic, about an Israeli military force to be sent back in time to take revenge from the Nazis etc. Reading this early book exposes the reader to Oz's virtuoso ability with words that can either pound like a sledgehammer or flutter on one's face like the wind from a butterfly's flight

It's basically the Owner's Manual with a pretty cover.
What's the point? I see no information in this book that was not contained in my CZ-5000 user guide. I don't get it.

A must buy for any Casio CZ series owner.
If you have a Casio CZ synthesizer and you like to program it, then you must have this book. There are also plenty of juicy tips in here that apply to synthesizers in general.

You are guided step by step through each feature of the CZ, and you get tips on how to exploit them fully. This book will open up your CZ for you, and show how to get the sounds you want from this under-rated and powerful synthesis system.

The reason I didn't give it four stars is that the chapter on multi-timbral operation is misleading, because the CZ series (except the CZ-1) have a frustratingly limited implimentation of this MIDI function.

With this book, your CZ becomes an invaluable addition to your synthesizer phalanx!

Great Book on the CZ and Synth Programmming...
Not quite sure what the guy below is talking about here. I have a CZ-101 and also a CZ-1, both received used with the manuals, which were not the best. So I picked up this book to see if there was anything more I could get out of these machines and was not disappointed as the CZ's re pretty powerful little sonic beasts even by today's standards.

The book is really clear and easy to read and the details on how the various parts of the CZ work really make it clear how to get the most from these synths. Though I know a decent amount about synth programming the sections on sound could be very helpful to less experienced users.

Bottom line is the book made the CZ's more valuable and useful to me and was well worth the purchase. I'd recommend it to any one with a CZ.

vino, vino, and more vino
As with many wine book serials, there are new additions, but for the most part, the text usually remains the same as in previous editions. If you are looking for a wine guide written by such wine critics as Clarke, Hugh Johnson, et al., it's important to ask yourself first which critic's opinions you agree with most before purchasing his book. Did you agree with Clarke's rating on a certain viognier? Or do you tend to agree with Johnson more? I have read thorugh Oz Clarke's guide, and it is informative and has a good primer if you're just starting out in wine appreciation. But be sure you agree with his opinions, otherwise his pick may not be quite as yummy to your taste buds. I have both Oz Clarke and Hugh Johnson's 1998 editions, and I found that having them both is useful when comparing their opinions on the same wines, but more importantly, in forming my own opinion.
