Very Comprehensive Overview
I bought a 1963 Chris Craft Corsair and wanted to find what model the boat was. This book had my boat and also the over 700 other models produced from the beggining to the late 1970's. I was very impressed with the detail of each listing, including how many hulls built and a photo of each model. This work is a detailed and almost astounding reference work for Chris Craft and antique boat enthusiasts and will not disappoint.

A wish come true for newbies!
This book is so great! I just bought a nice sewing machine but have no idea how to use it. So I went to a bookstore and decided to buy this book for its colorful presentation. I learn how to use my sewing maching just by looking at the step-by-step pictures since they are all very helpful. The colors of the fabrics are presented in high contrast so that the difference is obvious. There are equipment section, pattern, basic technique and professional technique and some more. I recomend it!

excellent source for do-it-yourself decorating
This book has it all for the do-it-yourself with fabric home decorator. Everything from oven mitts, curtain pullbacks, pillows, sofa and chair covers, throws, a tea cozy, lampshades, shelf borders and soft sculpture. The book is organized into rooms - bedrooms, living rooms, nurseries etc. Each room is an opportunity for the author to present a color scheme. Of course the color scheme are interchangeable, and can be changed to suit your own home, but it is an interesting way to organize the book and the ideas into a very useful form. Now many of these projects are not for the 20 minute make-over. A few of the ideas, such as the Hungarian Applique Throw, are more for an entire winter of evenings sewing in front of the fire. Many of the projects are not only time consuming but difficult. But with common sense and patience, I think that all of the projects could be completed successfully with a minimum of sewing experience. There is a helpful chapter in the beginning of the book that describes helpful hints to get started and to achieve the best possible results. This book is a long-term gem. I will probably be picking out projects from here again and again, for years to come. Highly recommended.

Extremely Inspiring
This is a truly visually beautiful book. Reading this book made me wish that I could live such an "herbal" lifestyle. There are not a lot of "recipes", or step-by-step guides for making herbal gifts, just beautiful pictures and good general information. This book really inspired me to try to make the many beautiful handmade gifts from the herb garden. I loved it.

Wildflowers? Sailboats?
China samplers, topiaries, baby sampler, hyacinths, fish sampler, teddy bears, cats, tea cozy, bibs, bed linens, towels, napkins, shopping bags, ornaments, bath sets and pillows are just some of the variety of patterns offered in this book. Some patterns are a bit on the small side, one will have to enlarge them for working comfortably. Otherwise its a wonderful book which is worth having if you fancy just one of the many themes pictured. Great addition to any stitcher's library.

Good for the beginner to the daring!
I bought this book because I had checked it out of our local library a couple of times and thought I should just buy it! It has easy (beginner) pillows and also has sophisticated pillows for those who want a bit of a challenge. Well written with easy instructions and beautiful pictures to get you motivated!

A New Herbal Classic
Tolley and Mead have done it again. With stunningly beautiful photos and to-the-point text, the wonderful world of herbs is explored in a new way. Many people don't fully appreciate the value of herbal flowers, but Tolley and Mead show that they can indeed stand on their own. They explore picking, conditioning, drying, growing, and arranging, as well as some unique craft ideas. For anyone into herbs, this is a must read. Another herbal masterpiece.
