Classic Car Reviews

I bought this book thinking it would be a _general_ guide to the restoration of classic car components. But when I received it I discovered that (other than a brief chapter on shop tools and methods) it only covers the restoration of very specific items... and unless you are restoring THAT SU carb or THAT Motorcraft distributor or THAT whatever, the book is pretty useless. And on top of that, the book focuses on BRITISH stuff. I'm a Ford Model A fanatic and was really disappointed to find that this book was of no use to me at all. Save your money, guys...

THis is a fairly extensive book but there is one problem with it. It does not state anywhere that this is only for the years 1964 to 1972. If I had know that I would not have ordered it. If you are trying to restore a car within those years and are looking for parts that will work, this is the book for you.

I was given this book by a friend, so I probably wouldn't have been drawn to it in the first place. I enjoy cooking and trying new ideas, and I think I am quite adventurous but there is just not very much in this book to interest me.

I went through and marked all the recipes I would consider making, and I only found four out of the whole book. The one that I made, a Beef and Carrots Stew that you cook in a low-temperature oven for 6 hours, did come out pretty well, but I think you can get a similar recipe in most basic cookbooks.

A lot of the recipes use ingredients that you just don't have to hand, or are things that my family would not enjoy, like rabbit, beets, fresh coconut, a bunch of fresh chervil (not all in the same recipe, haha!)

It just isn't very useful for me personally, doesn't "fill a need", and uses some impractical ingredients.

This is a kids book made for 3rd graders...i sent it back!
