accurate historical accounting of the people, times & car. This book is highly recommended for a totally insightful view of the times and situation(s) that led to the creation of what was a futuristic all-out artistic object that occurred because of the right things being in the right place at the right time. The fact that the subject matter just happens to be an automobile is secondary to the author's placement of people and events which conspired to let these events occur in the first place, yielding a beautiful work of U.S. industrial art.

Chivalry, Gallantry & Poetry in a Relict Leisure ClassRobert Etheridge Townsend, a young writer, recounts his twelve amatory encounters on his path to a conventional life style. Within his tales, he left an account of the behaviors of members of a relict leisure class in which ancestry, snobbery and pride of place were kept alive by infusions of wealth acquired through marriages of convenience.

The Human Brain and Spinal Cord: A Historical Study Illustrated by Writings from Antiquity to the Twentieth Century (Norman Neurosciences, No 2)

Amazon base price: $225.00

Edición limitada a 750 ejemplares. Fascinación para quienes, como yo mismo, somos bibliómanos y neurólogos.

A medical book that reads like a mysteryIn this extremely well written book, Luba Vihanski reviews one hundred years of research on spinal record regeneration. She describes the many angles from which this topic has been approached. She explains what was previously believed and what the experiments demonstrated. Many diagrams and photographs make the topic more clear. The researchers involved are not left out in the dark: You get a feeling that you know them.
This account is illuminating and very easy to read, even for a neophyte like me without medical training. One piece of advice: read the appendix on the spinal cord before and after injury before you read the rest of the book.

Intramedullary Spinal Cord Tumors
Published in Hardcover by Thieme Medical Pub (15 January, 1996)
Amazon base price: $129.00

Rare but There (Intramdullary SCT)I read this book from cover to cover. It was writen for the neurosugeon, but with the help of a dictionary and a desire to learn I found out so much about my preoperational problem. My doctor found a Intramedullary Ependymoma at T-6 and I wanted to learn all I could. This book was a great help to me in understanding what I could expect dearing the surgery and after. I let my Doctor see it before the surgury and gave it to him after I was out of surgery and in NICU. The book is first rate with lots of pictures and examples of what these spinal cord tumors look like and how they respond to surgery. As I said it was not an easy book to read, but its very readable for the person who wants to resurch their needs or the needs of a loved one that is facing "Intramedullary Spinal Cord Surgery. Two years ago there was very little information out about this rare tumor group. This was the best book that dealt with just the spinal cord and the tumors that find themselves within. I would highly recommend it to patients and doctors. I think doctors could use this as a teachin tool for their patients and show them what they are facing. After giving my copy to my neurosurgen I wanted my own copy, because I've wanted to refer back to it so many times. It's expensive, but relize who it was writen for. Its more like a medical text book. I'm glad I read it and glad I have it in my library.
