Classical radiology of the SpineVery easy to read, with nice images this book is a must-read if you want to know all that is improtant in classical radiology of spine and spinal cord. Although it lacks the modern methods (MRI and to some extent CT), the book is a good start for young doctors who want to know the limits and benefits of classical imaging of the spinal cord.

Great DevotionalThis book is very funny and will get your teenager ready to talk about today's pressing issues. I suggest you read it with them. The bumper stickers are humorous. It doesn't take alot of time, so they stay focused.

Best for studying jazz-vocalistsSome books with mousic score and lyrics are not available in other countries except the land of their authors. It's difficult situation for those, who are studying jazz in Europe, for example. That's why Internet shopping make impossible things possible. That's why I'm so happy, that I can listen beautiful jazz standards performed by unforgettable Frank Sinatra and guests and now I can see the lyrics, notes and I can learn them. It's amazing. This book will help me learn more american jazz standards, more english, and give me lots of satisfaction singing them with my jazz band.

Responding to GodAmy Carmichael, missionary to south India from 1895 till her death in 1951, tells the story of the Dohnavur Fellowship, a group of men and women dedicated to discerning God's guidance for their lives and actions and following that guidance. The Fellowship had a significant impact in southern India, saving many children from the abusively destructive fate of Hindu temple prostitution. Gold Cord is an inspiring and instructive volume on the topic of being wholly dedicated to Christ and how to follow His guidance in a practical way in the midst of opposition and difficulty.

Hold on tight! The author exposes an accurate and often painful incite to the injustices evidenced and experienced by every black boy in society regardless of complexion, station, or class. His thoughts and writings are what most men have internalized out of fear of personal or societal persucution. I recommend this novel for any reader that is not afraid of knowing truth as depicted from this obvious strong, confident writer and black man. I also caution the reader to examine oneself and the societal impact of the subjects discussed before developing an opinion of this work. I am continually encouraged, from the knowledge gained from this novel, as a professional black man in today's society to continue to bear my cross and "fight on." For those of you that are a part of the "struggle," be it black, white, green, or purple, I encourage reading this book to understand the plight of/against America's Black Boys from the womb to adulthood. It is actually more than a brief, it is LIFE.

Very Good but a Little DatedPublished a decade ago, this very good book retains considerable value. The authors concentrate on medical aspects of spinal cord injury and exclude trauma, congenital spinal cord problems, and low back pain from discussion. The books covers spinal cord and spine anatomy, the clinical features of spinal cord injury, the approach to spinal cord problems, and then reviews neoplastic and non-neoplastic spinal cord disorders. All chapters are written well, referenced well, and have good illustrations. Despite the passage of a decade, the discussions of clinical features and approach to the patient retain almost complete value. The major defect is that MRI was just becoming widely available as this book was written and the imaging sections and illustrations are out of date. Still an excellent reference volume.

Covers the Sawtooth Wilderness and surrounding areas from Challis to Lowman to Ketchum. Includes detailed descriptions and good contour maps. Black-and-white photos.

good book, but lacked knowlage and enthusiasim of WagnerI am a true Wagnarian. Der Gotterdammerung is my favorute opera. The Rhine Madiens in this book where not described acuretly.
Very useful before or after first Ring experienceProfessor Cord's book proved very useful to me when I attended the Ring cycle at the S.F. Opera in June 1999. I had watched the N.Y. Met video tapes, and read up on the four operas, but Cord's book gives extensive background information to help you understand the context in which the operas were created and first performed. The S.F. Opera was selling this handbook to its patrons and it turned out Professor Cord was sitting two rows ahead of us. His enthusiasm, love, respect and knowledge of Wagner are clear. You can read the book before attending or, if your prefer, after the experience to clarify questions and insights you have had. I recommend it as a wonderful starting point for anyone exploring Wagner's Ring.

Journey to WellReviewer: robert dorroh (see more about me) from Sonora, CA United States The reader will be distracted by poor writing that includes awkward sentences, punctuation, rash of italics and exclamation points, and an overdose of sentimentality. Williams is a good soul who needs a better editor. Still, she deserves two stars for sincerity and a good effort.
An Excellent Book About Spinal Cord InjuryWe really like this book! The author, Margie Williams, suffered a severe spinal cord injury at the age of 53, just when she was making plans for the rest of her life. She presents a close-up view of what life is like during and after such an incident, including her experience with institutional medicine and insurance companies (for better and for worse), and her determined -- and ultimately successful -- effort to rehabilitate herself and reconstruct her life. Journey To Well is well-written, funny in some parts and heart-rending in others, but completely absorbing throughout. The comprehensive Resource Guide included in the Appendix is itself well worth the price of the book for those dealing with spinal cord injuries as patients or as caregivers.
Everyone's experience with spinal cord injury is different, and this is indeed a subjective view. But the manner in which Margie Williams responded to and grew from her experiences has applications for everyone. We would therefore enthusiastically recommend Journey To Well not only to those who have experienced spinal cord injury, but also to those who have not. The world of those who must live the rest of their lives on wheels is quite different than the "two-legged" world. The more we understand the similarities as well as the differences between the two, the better we will be as individuals and as a caring society.
A Realistic AccountI am an Occupational Therapist who works with persons with spinal cord injuries. I found this book to be very helpful in describing what it's like to have a SCI from the victim's point of view. Her story doesn't put on a glossy finish, and that's good, because it isn't a fun experience. I have given it to students to read to gain a better perspective on the impact of a SCI on an individual and the family. I would recommend this book if you want to read an account of one person's struggle through hospitalization, rehab and life at home.
