The entries, and average of four or five paragraphs long, are detailed enough to send the reader in the right direction should he desire a more in-depth treatment, and aquaint one with all of the fundamental points of any given concept presented. Very well done.

I think this is a very useful and enlightening reference book for many of the key and mind-twisting ideas in history. Reading this book is a real treat and I can lose track of time as I jump from one topic to another. Anyone who wants to build his humanities and to go on a journey to understand the society of his own time should learn from this book. The Key Ideas in Human Thought is really an amazing book and a jumping board for me in the way an intellectual should look at the world and his space in it.

This book is very good. My science teacher loves it, and I do too. It is a very intresting book with colorful pages.

This is a wonderful book to have on your bookshelf for reference,as well as leisure reading. It has beautiful photographs and interesting facts about each animal.

My seven year old son absolutely loves this book,it is a favorite in our household. A must have for every home library!

I bought this dictionary for my 8 year-old daughter. She took it to school with her (leaving her other dictionary here at home). She kept it in her desk all year long, and referred to it as needed. It hit the spot, and was an excellent choice. If you have a child in grade school, this is a perfect item for them, fitting well into backpack or desk.

This dictionary is just perfect for the age group. It gives them what they need to know without losing them with too many details and definitions. It's making language arts so much easier. When was the last time you saw your nine-year-old son smile when he got a dictionary???

I bought some yarn once at the Rekyavik Airport (a beautiful Lopi, of course.) Some elegant patterns for pullovers were included, but they were in Icelandic, German and Norwegian. Lucky for me, I speak German. But not KNITTING German. What is "umschlag" and "abnehmen?" I can guess, but...I'd like to be sure.

There are many wonderful patterns available in French, Norwegian, Danish, Spanish and Italian. This book helps you translate the most common terms used in knitting for most of the European languages and even...Japanese. With a set of charts, you will find that knitting in translation is not all that difficult. This is the Rosetta Stone for knitters and really, if you are a serious knitter and want to explore the delights of foreign patterns, this is a must-have.

This is an excellent book for people who love to knit and do not wish to be restricted to designs which are published only in English. It has knitting terms for more languages than I can remember, including the Scandanavian languages and Japanese. It is a must for knitting lovers who love to explore a multitude of designs.

A 'MUST BUY' for people who love to knit.

Everyone should have one of these. It easily fits into the palm of your hand and is very useful. The definitions are easy to understand as well. It definitely deserves 5 stars!

This is a physically tiny book of 602 pages of readable definitions. Fun to own and useful. There is always room for it at about one inch in size.

This is a great book. It comes with a tiny bookmarker even. The cover is plastic red with gold lettering. Plus, it could be a Barbie book to play with. I have a few of the Lilliput books so far.

Besides, to be educational, this little book a piese of art. I have quiet few others dictionaris but this one is most usefool of all.

I used this to look up a word the pastor used (transmigration). Everyone in the class was glad I had this little dictionary.

I keep one in my car, in my house, in my pocket, in my desk, in my day runner, everywhere! They're only about 2 inches square in size and contain a suprisingly large amount of words. I visited DC and found out that some of the supreme court justices use these for reference on the stand! Its a must have....

The verbs conjugations are listed in the dictionary like any other word. I don't know if all are listed but an effort was made to put them in regular dictionary for us people that are to dumb to know that they are verbs at first glance. This is the only dictionary, I have seen, of its size to do this.

The verb conjugation tables here are worth their weight in gold. They give you all the basic patterns and the basic classes of irregular verbs, with the irregular forms shown in bold, a great learning tool. Then all verbs in the dictionary are referenced to a specific pattern. A much better approach then the dumb listing of all forms of a limited number of verbs, as in the over-rated "501 Spanish Verbs". This dict, unlike some pockets, gives important idioms and phrases for most words. Worth every penny, both as a dictionary and a companion to other more structure "learn spanish" books.

Davi-Ellen Chabner's book is the best of its kind that I have read. I first used it as a student of medical terminology. Then, as luck would have it, Mrs. Chabner was the instructor for the human diseases course I took at an adult education certificate program in medical transcription. Talk about good fortune!

For anyone interested in the human body, medical information on diseases and tests. Very well written, understandable, highly informative. Fantastic book for beginning students or anyone. Wonderful encephal food.You'll find yourself saying, "So that's where they get that name from".

This dictionary is a wonderful resource for children ages 8-10 years old who want to learn English/Spanish. The vocabulary is introduced through 16 scenes, 6 songs, and 1 poster and is arranged to provide optimal learning. The scenes follow a logical progression and take the form of an ordinary day in the life of a child. Each scene pertains to a specific time of the day and all the vocabulary introduced in that scene is relevant to a specific topic. For example, scene one occurs at 6 o'clock in the morning and the vocabulary that is introduced pertains to the morning. This dictionary is also wonderfully illustrated. Each scene is appealing and attractive utilizing bright colors and detailed artwork. Children will surely enjoy looking at the scenes, which will increase the likelihood of them learning the vocabulary. All the vocabulary in the book is reinforced through a series of activities provided at the end of each section. These activities have many formats in which children will not get bored and tiresome.

The Larousse Active Dictionary for Beginners is a wonderful resource for parents, teachers, and children alike.

the pedagogy is efficient and the progression clearly stated. the illustrations are appealing to every kid. the poster is worth to sit on the wall, colorful and full of life. the songs style is awesome.
