Eyes of the Eagle
Published in Paperback by Ivy Books (April, 1991)
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

The "Eyes" Have itI read this book a year and a half ago. I picked it up again two weeks ago and couldn't put it down. It is a very touching account of what really went on over in the war. You could acually get caught up in the book, like you were the one there. The man wrote of how it really was, from a first hand account, not from a reporter or the governments point of view. It was so real that when I went to the Wall the people mentioned in the book were really on the Wall. I can't wait until the next book comes out. I also would recomend this one to every one if you are really interested in the truth.

Buy This Book NowThis book is a great, detailed description of the last days of the Third Reich. The coverage of the last days with Hitler is as good as "The Bunker". What is not commonly known is that the last fighting in Germany was some of the hardest fought of the whole war, the German war machine was against the wall and the best was expected from its troops. The details of the troops in the filed followed up with details form the men in charge were really well put together. This moved very well into the Yalta conference and the impressions the leaders there had which differed somewhat from the men in the field. This is just and all around great book, full of wonderful stories and an arm load of detail. If you are interested in the part of the war then you should buy this book.

This is a marvelous book.I've read this book three times over the past several years and each time I read it, I find something new to treasure. If you like great writing and moving stories about relationships that matter, this book is for you. Paulette Bates Alden's stories are emotionally intense, yet the writing is elegant, reserved. I lost my copy of Feeding the Eagles, and realized I can't stand not to have it on my shelf, so I'm buying another copy. It's good stuff...highly recommended.

Fishing Hot Spots Eagle River Area (North Central Wisconsin Series)
Published in Paperback by Fishing Hot Spots (August, 1987)
Amazon base price: $8.95
Average review score:

Out of print but worth looking forThis is one of a series of fishing guidebooks to northern Wisconsin by this publisher. This review equally applies to all other books of the series. I have found these books invaluable for planning my fishing trips to northern Wisconsin. This particular book covers 68 lakes in 140 square miles surrounding Eagle River, Wisconsin. It contains maps and information about each lake's size, depth, fertility, public access, fish species, and describes the best fishing spots and recommended lures and techniques. The book is a convenient size (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) and fits into a tackle box. The other volumes of the series are similar. These books went out of print because the publisher found it more profitable to sell individual lake maps. Their maps provide the same information but are available only for the most popular lakes, and a book is easier to use than a pile of maps. Using these books to plan my fishing trips, I can fish more lakes and spend my time on the most productive spots. This is especially important to me because I live over 2,000 miles away and visit this area only once every five years. I fish for muskies but bass, walleye, and pan fishermen also will find these books handy. I give them 5 stars because the information is very complete and not readily available otherwise. I was not paid for this review and have no affiliation with the publisher. I am simply a fisherman who likes this product a lot for the reasons stated above.

Fleur

Definitely worth reading - brilliant insight into RussiaI thought both books in this saga were extremely good, and the descriptive passages about Tsar Nicholas 1's Russia are incredible. I was on holiday and searching for trashy novels in the local library to pass the time, and found these instead. A very welcome surprise! Does anyone know if there are any more books after 'Fleur', because if there are, I'll be buying them a.s.a.p

The Flight of DignityJ. Krishnamurti, born a sickly Hindi child, was raised and molded for the position of world guru by the Theosophical society. He did become a physically healthy yound man, and the Order of the Star was formed around him to nurture his big awakening. He gave speeches and had a great following. Then during a huge gathering of 2000 of his devotees, he broke the news to them, which was essentially "I am not your leader. I can not make you enlightened. Only you can do that. Do not follow me for I have no answers for you. You must think through life for yourself." This turn, what might have been percieved as a let down, was actually great advice and deep wisdom. After that he continued to speak, but always with the same message, which was basically to do away with all conditioning and to search for the truth of reality without the screens of religions, politics, patriotism, gurus, philosophies, etc. He sought to see reality as it was, not as how people dreamed it should be. This book is a small sample of his talks and writings. But there is so much more to the man and his profound mind than this. Since Amazon may not have this one in stock, check out one of his other books. But it must be noted that many of the books of Krishnamurti are biographies. They are interesting, but to get to the core of his ideas, check out HIS writings and talks.

very niceThis book gives you a vivid picture of how Dan (the author) raise the Golden Eagle and how their relationship grow, also it gives you many information on Eagles. It's quite touching, too. More than that, this book disprove the myth that eagles raised by man could not fly free.

The mysteries continue....Sagan's stunning story telling continues with little Szar waking up further after his encounter with the Dragon. He returns to Esraim a veerry different man and his awakening takes him closer and closer to his initiation as a Master of Thunder. His love for Elyani is a story of how love for another person can be such a powerful tool of awakening for those willing to see it in that way.
