Young Reader's Adventure
Ms. Finley writes of the American Southwest in this tale of a young man searching for his true identity. His encounters and new friends will amaze and entertain you to the last page. The author is a native of the locals of the story and it is evident that she has researched her subject matter. Historical fiction at its best.

Great Teaching Tool with Gorgeous Illustations
I used this book as the basis for a program on eagles prepared for children ages 5-9. The book provides lots of accurate facts about the eagle, its habitat requirements and how we can insure its viability. The illustrations are wonderful and enhance the technical story of the eagle being told by Gail Gibbons. I will use this book again for my own children and for programs focusing on eagles for the early elementary school age kids to learn about our eagle population on the James River.

MOST EXCELLENT AND THEN SOME!
This story carries so many moving elements and lovable characters it is hard to put down.

Miss Brenna Sinclair travels from her eastern home in Connecticut, to look over a piece of property she inherited from her snobby mother, to the western part of South Dakota. She is a horse trainer.

Cord O'Brien was a mountain man from Wyoming on the trail of a wild Spanish mustang, he is in need of this stallion's bloodlines to continue breeding his small herd of Sp. mustangs to keep their lines pure. He is in hopes of preserving and proving the hardiness of his mustangs by entering the stud in the 100 mile endurance ride. Of course the stallion, "Freedom" is not enamored of the idea.

Cord is part Indian and was raised by Jesse, his lifelong friend and mentor. He is also a blacksmith extraordinaire. And a hunk!

Brenna soon convinces Cord that "Freedom" needs proper conditioning by her methods, even as she takes a young Arab stallion that her father considers a cull and readies him for the endurance ride.

Brenna cannot forgive her father for not being in her life, not understanding the role played by her snooty mother in his exclusion.

Her half-brother, Kyle is readying his fathers chosen Arab stallion for the competition and they develope a friendly appreciation for each other.

There are so many elements that strengthen the story that you know that you have been envolved with the lives of some memorable people. Cord's bad back - Brenna's piano playing that adds to the attraction and Jesse's comments that "is the last that will be said on the subject!" [grin]

I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions of the horses and the people's interaction with them as I have been involved with Arabian horses for a number of years.

High recommended but ---- --M!

A Shame It's Not In Print
It really is. This is a great series I read when I was a little younger, and now I read to the kids I babysit. This is their favorite, and it is a great book. The characters are funny and likeable, and, well, just use the out of print search to try to get it.

The Way
The size of af book does not indicate the effects it can have on you. Still voice is a small and humble book, but reading it and giving it a chance to touch you, can certainly make you a better person. I have read many books by many who claim they know the way. But I always come back to White Eagle. His words have given me comfort and strength beyond anything that I could have imagined. I have read this book many times, have kept in my purse and opened it often at difficult times. It has exspanded my tolerance and patince. The words of White Eagle are as essential for me as bread and water (lets keep it simple). The words in this book are so full of love, warmth and understanding of the human nature that I doubt you will find anything like it. Buy it, read it and become it.

Stolen Blessings (Eagle Large Print)

Lawrence Sanders at his best
Lawrence Sanders has written one of his best books. The story involves a Hollywood movie actress (Marilyn Taylor) who agrees to a laparoscopy of her eggs so she can provide in vitro fertilization for her best friend. The eggs get stolen and that is when the fun starts. The eggs are stolen by half a dozen people -- a crazy fan, the LA and Chicago Mafia, a sleezy movie producer, a professional thief and his Asian "friend" and a washed-up movie actor. The NYPD assign an officer to handle the case only to become romantically entwined with Marilyn Taylor. Sanders creates a great story with lots of twists and turns and plenty of excitement. This book was funny and enjoyable to read.

THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read about 8 books a month, and so I do not take this lightly. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!

The book is about a man who has lost his son, and his wife. His daughter ran away years ago on a ship full of strange environmentalists. After his wife dies, he decides that he must find the last living member of his family. His daughter. The rest of the book is about his jurney to do so. And again I say, it is the best book I have ever read.
