These Blind Eyes Now See
Blindness came upon me so quickly there wasn't time for gradual adjusment or to come to grip with my feeliings. I felt like I was crippled and helpless. The importance of physical perfection emphasized by the world now made me feel insecure. Blindness was more than a loss of vision, it was an attack upon my self image. Some things were too painful to talk about; the inability to see my child's face, my husband's good looks, my mother's smile, or even myself, made acceptance very difficult. I could no longer watch television, catch the writings on the billboards and signs, or read a book - it was a grievious adjustment. I could no longer stay in touch with the changing times, new hair styles, fachion and make-up trends. Changes in land scaping and building's went unnoticed. I could not see to catch peoples gestures, the nodding of their heads, the shrug of their shoulders, their posture, facial expressions or the look in the eye. Because of not being able to see these things, I felt like I was missing half of every conversation. I was standing still while around me the whole world was moving ahead.Devastated I sat and grieved for three weeks with tear's running down my face. I was no longer the same Marolyn. I thought different, I talked and walked differently. I had become a blinded personality listening to all the sounds around me, noticing smells and other things that gave me dirction. Before me was college, a career and marriage - life had crumbled at my feet. The time of grief and sorrow over the life I had lost was neccessary and healthy because tears cleanse the soul, ones mind and emotion's. As I sat in tears I realized that my life was God's gift to me and what I did with my life would be my gift back to God. At that moment, it wasn't a matter of whether I was blind or sighted. It was my life, and I wanted to be able to lay a life down at the feet of Jesus that would be worthy of his death for me on Calvary's Cross. Sitting in my dad's easy chair for the rest of my life wouldn't accomplish that. It was up to me to pick up the broken pieces. I knew I needed to get along with God so I could take my heavy burden to the Lord and leave it with Him.Soon after that I left for college, married a minister and became actively involved in the church ministries. Not knowing what my husband Acie and daughter Sharon looked like, we continued to ask God for deliverance from my blindnss. After thirteen difficult years, God miraculously gave sight to my blind eyes, Aug. 26th, l972.Dale Evans Rogers wrote: "THESE BLIND EYES IS A MUST... Marolyn Ford is a tremendous inspiration to all she meet, and she is LIVING PROOF of the power of Jesus Christ to restore that which is lost - and use that restoration to His glory".

First choice for a textbook
Our seminary has chosen this book as the main textbook in the advanced class on leadership. We have been using this for four years and are very pleased with it. It replaces the older text on Spiritual Leadership by Sanders.

Australian Institute of Management Review
A Book Review from Management Today

A Publication of the Australian Institute of Management July, 1998 Transforming Leadership-Second Edition Authored by Terry D. Anderson, Ph.D.

Boldly re-entering a market presently congested with leadership tomes, this new edition of the definitive executive and management self-development book stands well above the majority. An examination of how leadership development has a truly profound effect on the morale and performance of individuals, teams and organizations, this book has been written both as a text for students and educators, and a reference for managers, consultants, executive coaches and mentors, and aspiring executives. It is perhaps the only book of its kind that provides an overarching model for leadership development; or a guide for developing curriculum that targets-specifically and simultaneously-the means for creating the strongest influence on organizational and personal effectiveness.

The author's innovative conceptual contribution to the literature of leadership is his focus on how it is necessary to build a leadership organization before-and to an extent while-you move ahead into building a "learning organization". In this second edition he tackles this issue squarely with an emphasis on the importance of the role of executive and leader.

Excellent Book, highly recommended.
This is the best book available regarding the little-known and mysterious transient orcas. In addition to having a detail catolgue of each transient whale in B.C waters, the book analysis and discuss the distinct behaviour and hunting styles of the transients, which are completely different from the salmon-eating resident killer whales.

Futhermore, there are numerous rare and spectacualr photos showing transients launching into the air and attacking their preys. This shows why Killer Whales are called "killers". For while these whales do not attack or eat man, they are highly efficient predators, no marine mammal is safe from transient whales. Read this book and you will understand why.

Mammal munching superstars
This is the definitive source for information on the transient or mammal hunting race of killer whales of the U.S. Pacific Northwest. If you are serious about learning what there is to know about these fascinating superpredators-this is THE book to buy. I am a naturalist on a whale watch boat in the San Juan Islands and we use this book constantly to inform our guests about the "alter egos" of our salmon eating Resident Orcas. Fabulous pictures and incredible stories.

A Beatiful Portfolio of Street Photography in Color
I love the works of Pesaresi being shown in this book. Although a photojournalist, Pesaresi shows in this collection of photographs, that he is capable of creating works of art that are so incredibly personal and beautiful.

Street photography is a subject that mainly is portrayed in black and white. Pesaresi's depiction of the world of the underground transportation done in color photography is really something quite special. The usage of colors don't simply become a decoration to the photographs. Instead, they strengthen the athmosphere being captured in the photographs themselves.

Nice Shots from real life under the earth.
Very good work, is what everyone of us sees around and is not able to shoot. Every pic is a world of sensations, a description of the daily culture of the place. Pesaresi not only travels around the world, he gets into private worlds in public places.

A gorgeous book about a brilliant painter
"Tigers of Wrath, Horses of Instruction" (the title is from William Blake) is the first monograph of the work of Walton Ford, a contemporary, New York-born painter whose enormous, Audobon-inspired watercolors are among the most beautiful, most thoughtful, and most disturbing works produced today. His often baffling work, examining global culture clashes told through fantastically-rendered paintings of exotic birds and animals, is very well explicated in a scholarly introductory essay by Steven Katz and a useful interview with the artist conducted by Dodie Kazanjian. All in all, this is probably the most gorgeous book you'll see this year.

Brilliant and Important Contemporary American Artist
Walton Ford's watercolors are among the most beautiful offered by any contemporary artist today. The context of each work is intelligent, thoughtful and imaginative while the execution of each work is brilliant. The book's release is in conjunction with a major exhibition of recent work by Walton Ford at the Paul Kasmin Gallery in New York City in October 2002. Serious art collectors, museum curators and art lovers should purchase a copy of the book for their libraries: the book is certain to become a collectors item.

Profit knows no allegiance
War, any war, is a sad and brutal indictment of failed politics and blundered diplomacy, but it always finds its willing supporters: militarists, super patriots, blind loyalists and cynical businessmen whose pursuit of profit knows no moral or ethical barrier. Could any war exist without them? This excellent book revealed many pages of World War II's history that I, and I suspect, many other people did not know existed - or existed on such a vast scope. It is both scholarly AND readable. It documents facts, not speculation. There can be little argument as to what went on during those years. Only someone suffering a massive bout of denial could argue with the facts. Still the book, with all that it reveals, and it reveals much, would not have guts or emotion without the perspective of the little guy. If anyone can read Mareno Mannucci's ordeal of his first night at Ford Werke and not see the pathos, feel his complete and total fear when he awakened alone and lost in the blackness of that night, with the sound of air raid alarms filling the tense night air and the shriek of his panicked voice joining the blaring alarms in a surreal duet of terror and helplessness, then that reader is not human. THAT memory of Mareno Mannucci probably is shared in one form or another by countless millions who experienced the war first hand. I wonder how many times he re-lived that night in the ensuing decades. The world should forever remember all the Mareno Mannuccis, whether they were frontline GIs, or Brits, or Russians, concentration camp prisoners, POWs, or slave laborers, but it won't. There's no profit in it. This is a real history book. Buy it, read it and remember it.

Revealing and meticulously presented essays
In Working For The Enemy: Ford, General Motors, And Forced Labor In Germany During The Second World War, Reinhold Billstein, Karola Fings, Anita Kugler, and Nicholas Levis effectively collaborate to present the reader with a revealing and meticulously presented series of essays on the history of German industry within the context of World War II. From airplane manufacture at a General Motors Subsidiary (1939-1945), to forced labor at Ford Werke in Cologne, this compelling and informative contribution to twentieth-century German history is a significant, scholarly, and welcome addition to academic collections and reading lists.

EXTREMELY EDUCATIONAL READING MATERIAL
I run a group home for young men. I bought a copy of this book and after reading it, I went out and bought 5 more copies.

This is an extremely informative and educational book for teens, adults, gays or straight people. I strongly believe that anyone who reads this book will benefit greatly from it. This book has hundreds of answers to questions about the AIDS virus, how it's spread and prevention. It includes touching interviews with people who are infected. It's a real eye opener that provides facts. The book is well written and easy to understand.

The young men in my group home have commented about what a SUPERB and EDUCATIONAL book this is. They like that the book is geared towards people of all ages, sex, race and economical backgrounds. Too bad this book isn't in schools.

I strongly recommend reading this book and passing it on to your children, family members and friends. It is worth reading and after gaining this type of knowledge, might help save lives.

It was definately worth 5 points and more......

An excellent Primer
This book shows that it's 15 years old however, the techniques that are explained in words and pictures, step by step are an excellent source for both the beginner and the advanced decorator. A great deal of information is packed into the 320 pages. the book has examples of modelling, piping techniques, lace, filigree work, run-outs etc. and should prove a sound primer.

Audubon's trip to England seeking publisher
Audubon kept a journal for his wife, who stayed behind in Louisiana, and it is filled with the observations of an unworldly American in England. He is excruciatingly shy, and very apprehensive about how his drawings and paintings will be received.A heartwarming, funny, very human look at America's great naturalist/artist.
