The COMPLETE Repair Manual
Think about it. This is a compilation of the 3 original maintanence manuals. What more could you need? I used this one book to keep my 1945 CJ2A on the road continuously from 1983 till now. Everything you need to know is here. I've replaced everything from brakes to pistons using the easily understood instructions. Every job is described with pictures attached. These TMs (TechnicalManuals) were written for G.I. mechanics...so even backyard mechanics like me can still use them. I got my money's worth the first time I used this book.

A Rare but Excellent Early Source for Model A Restorations
I purchased this book at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn over ten years ago--and am cursing my luck because I can't find it anywhere. The book was written, I believe, shortly after production of the Model A ended. It therefore recommends the use of very simple tools, something that many restorers on a budget would find welcome today. Also, because this book wasn't created by FoMoCo, it offers some homespun knowledge that can't be found in any official Ford factory bulletins. Even better, it covers some aftermarket parts available at the time. The book is charmingly illustrated with period prints, often showing novel approaches to tackling problems, but sometimes lacking in clear detail. Overall, this is a great resource. Where else can you find step-by-step instructions for removing a Model A body from its frame, or performing a simple alignment, or servicing of the suspension. Now where the heck did I put that book?

Pichardo's Review
Subject- BEL CANTO Principles and Practices- Author- Cornelius Reid
Mr.Reid, as difficult as it is to write down the Bel Canto Structure of Singing, has done an excellent job of attempting to get it on paper, as close to the real thing as I have ever read. The book is also very interesting in its writing and is enjoyable and fairly easy to read. I say this, being one of many who say they teach this method, and one of the very few, who actually knows and understands what Bel Canto is in singing. In his other, later writings on this subject, while there are truths in these works, Mr. Reid does somewhat stray from the purity of this method, perhaps in an attempt to not be so heartily disagreed with, as most singing/voice teachers, the majority as it were, have not a clue to what he was writing about. I strongly suggest that this book, for reference, be in everbody's musical library.

Thank you,

Luis Pichardo

The Modern Theologians

An excellent overview ...
Of the often confusing world of 20th century theology. 20th century theology often feels like an orchestra that's warming up before a symphony. Complete and utter chaos! Not everyone is playing the same tune, nor are they coming from the same perspective. Pluralism is the order of the day. I consider this my hitchiker's guide.

It is a set of essays of professional journal quality, written experts on the respective topics they are writing on. There are sections on specific theologians (e.g Barth, Bultmann, Tillich, Moltmann, Pannenberg, Jungel, Kung, Balthasar, Rahner, etc.), specific topics (Judaism & Christian theology, evangelicalism, theology & science, hermeneutics, postliberalism, feminist theology, liberation theology, etc.). Basically, all the major people & movements you should ever know about.

Dr. Brett rocks
I have to say, this book he wrote with his wife is as informative as his lectures.
While the events described in Murdered happened prior to the end of the Cold War, the story gives us pause-we really HAVE to start thinking about what our tax dollars are supporting-dictators and death squads are the same whether they are on the right or the left-to support them in the name of fighting communism or terrorism is immoral.

Muscle Physiology and Cardiac Function

Review: Muscle Physiology and Cardiac Function by L.e. Ford
This is a well written book covering many aspects of animal locomotion and cardiac function, from the basic mechanisms of muscle contraction, through the optimum sizes for various athletics, to myocardial contractility and heart failure. The author's range of knowledge appears extraordinary, and many of the discussions of scientific experiments are enlarged by brief descriptions of the scientists themselves. Occasional references to his own work in the various areas further suggests that he has had first hand experience in the several areas of scientific research and clinical practice, as well as personal familiarity with many of the scientists. This is an excellent book for someone wanting to learn either about basic muscle physiology or about the function of muscle in the body. The Introduction indicates that book chapters began as handouts for an undergraduate course, and the book would be an excellent choice as a text for a course in muscle physiology. It is written at the level of college students majoring in Biology, and some familiarity with lower level undergraduate science is required for a full appreciation of the concepts presented, but the writing is sufficiently lucid that a detailed knowledge is not required. The author states that he has attempted to avoid mathematical equations as much as possible, and for the most part, he has kept this promise, although there are some areas where mathematical derivations could not be avoided. In summary, this is an excellent book for anyone wanting to know how muscle works or how it operates in the body

Great Source for Stories!
Linda Ford's Musings, is a wonderful compendium of stories from all over the world and is perfect for anyone who is interested in culture, mythology, and story telling.

The book is divided into six sections: Community, Love and Family, Resources, Room for Improvement, Beauty and Virtue, Wisdom and Foolishness. These stories are drawn from eighty cultures. Just a few cultures I spotted at random: ancient Greek, the Maidu people of California, Russia, New Foundland, India, Japan, the Bulu people of West Africa.

Many of the stories are anecdotal or proverbial. That is, they lack detailed description and often make a point about life or nature. For example, "The Two Bald Men" recounts a French fable of two bald men who fight over an ivory treasure seen at a distance. The fight is so violent that the winner loses most of the rest of his hair. Then he discovers that item he has fought so hard for is an ivory comb.

This is book is an excellent reference for anyone looking for thought provoking story ideas or to discover the different or common values of various cultures.
