description
Seeing as Amazon has not yet provided a description of this book, I'll attempt to do so. This is an important book because it draws poetry from 17 Chicago public high schools, from students who were under the tutorage of real, live Chicagoan poets. Expressed in the book are the backgrounds, lifestyles, and fears of teenagers living in Chicago. This book contains the writing of many students who's names may soon appear in more prominent places (myself included, hopefully-not that I'm biased toward the book or anything...). It is definitly a worthwhile investment, least of all as a portrayal of what's going on in the minds of Chicago's youth.

How to save cash and own an Explorer in the U.K.
A super book which enables an average home mechanic to do lots of repairs and replacements in their own garage. Even if it is a shop job, you are at least ahead of the game by knowing what is involved.Well illustrated and easy to follow.

Good for basic maintenance, but lacking for major mods..
The basic maintenance section is great... for changing spark plugs, changing oil, etc.

Two weaknesses though -

1) It covers the 5.0L, 3.8L and 4.6L DOHC in great detail. The 4.6L SOHC (which I what I have) is rarely directly covered. Its tossed in together with the DOHC. This is problematic, especially for working in the engine area... things are never in the same place.

2) If you want detailed information on things that regular maintenance don't cover, for the purpose of making modifications (vortech, nitrous, etc.) there's not enough detail. This is OK, since modifications is not the main purpose of the book.

Overall, good for what its intended for!

A good source of information
This biography is an excellent resource for students who wish to learn more about Henry Ford. It explains Ford's love of machines from a young age and how his ideals shaped his company and career. The author discreetly addresses Ford's egotism and emphasizes his contribution to ordinary people's lives. The index and important dates enable children to practice using these resources for their research.

Henry's Attic
This book is well thought out, put together, and executed. All in all its very informative and insightful concerning Henry Ford's museum and historical village. If there is anything inherently wrong with the book, its that the scope of the work is too large to fill just one volume. There is over one million documented artifacts in the museum/village, and this book can only give details on a select few.

Excellant reading and entertainment for those history buffs and would be inventors out there who want to see how Henry did it.

An Insider Speaks
In this book from 1987, President Ford gives examples from his administration and others of the positive effects of humor. Presidents Kennedy and Reagan are given as the two examples of recent Presidents who knew how to use humor to their advantage. Ford cites examples of how Kennedy took tense situations and neutralized them through humor. Nixon and Carter are listed as Presidents who lacked humor and had difficulty with the press.

This book also has several pages of reproduced cartoons. The modern ones focus on Ford and Reagan.

Various members of the Ford Administration give examples of funny incidents that happened during their time in the White House. President Ford describes his anger at how he sometimes was portrayed by comedians. Members of Ford's staff give examples of how Ford used humor to ease tension with audiences, staff and others. There are also worthwhile stories given here about how hard the Ford White House worked to win the GOP nomination in 1976. Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are two members of the Ford Administration quoted here. It is interesting that they are now both back in Washington as members of the Bush Administration.

Illegal Harmonies: Music in the 20th Century
Published in Hardcover by Hale & Iremonger (09 February, 1998)
Author: Andrew Ford
Amazon base price: $34.00
Average review score:

Comfortably Illegal
Andrew Ford's Illegal Harmonies, is a very concise and readable book giving a concise summary of the last century of contempory classical music. Right up to people who fall outside the 'classical' genre such as Dear old Duke Ellington. The only shorting comming that it really has is its lack of detail about the avant-garde music from john cage and his ilk onwards. But these composers warrant a book to themselves anyway.

Very good for junior medical students
This is a good pocket book as an introduction to clinical examination for junior medical students. It is closely integrated with (McLeod's Clinical Examination). It's not intended to act as a comprehensive book for clinical exam, so you have to read McLeod in conjuction with it.

Contentes include:
1. General principles of history-taking and physical exam.
2. Cardiovascular system.
3. Resp. system.
4. Alimentary & genito-urinary systems.
5. Nervous system.
6. Locomotor system.
7. Integration of the physical Exam.

It has many illustrations to simplify many concepts. No real pictures.

It comes in 132 pages, in its 6th edition (1997), published by Churchill Livingstone. There is a new edition now available.
