Do not buy..
Well...
Glad we bought it.

Not a book to nourish a child's christian reading abilities.
More Than Santa ClausChristmas decorations in the windows of the downtown stores. During their walk,
Tony asks a lot of questions about Christmas, Jesus, and the meaning behind many holiday
traditions. Keisha, still a child herself, answers the questions as best she can as
the two discuss the true meaning of Christmas.
Ford's illustrations are simply beautiful and are a nice accompaniment to this cute
story. If you are looking for a book that provides an accurate Biblical account of Jesus
and his birth then this is probably not the book for you. But if you are looking for a
feel good story, which highlights the special relationship between siblings and presents
the story of Christmas from a child's point of view, then this book is a worthy addition
to any child's library.

So-so Ford Bio
Not bad, but misses the real genius
An interesting and well written book about John Ford!

NOT "Advanced" and overpricedThe concepts presented in "Advanced Audio Production Techniques" are basic and should have been long mastered by anyone looking to improve his or her audio chops with "advanced" material. The book does make a good primer and covers a broad range of topics. And Ford does an excellent job explaining the basics of compression -- a tricky topic. As a primer, however, $32.95 is entirely too high. For the same price you could get a subscription to Recording magazine, Electronic Musician or EQ, all of which will cover the same territory in more detail over the course of a year.
A much better bet is Hank Linderman's "Hot Tips for the Home Recording Studio." It also is a book about the basics and presents itself that way. And, frankly, it far exceeds its stated "Home Studio" focus. The material covered is applicable even to professional recording situations. Linderman goes into sufficient detail about the equipment, processes and specific techniques of recording. "Hot Tips" is an invaluable resource that I return to frequently just to brush up.
For the beginner and intermediate, this is a great help.

Not worth itIt probably deserves 1 star, but I've given it 2 out of respect for the fact that they've attempted to tackle such a difficult subject in the first place.
Thought provoking but looking for a focus

TerribleLet us look at Page 43, Conjugation, ยง 57. Preliminary remarks, II, which is supposed to explain Sanskrit moods and tenses:
"The moods are: indicative, optative, imperative; only the present has three moods, the remaining tenses only the indicative; the infrequent precative is, however, a kind of aorist optative. The tenses are: present and imperfect, which form the present system with opt. and pres.imp., future, the rare conditional, aorist, perfect."
Precative? aorist optative? pres.imp.? And it gets worse and worse. I may be really stupid but from this paragraph I would not have learnt that Sanskrit has ten tenses. Or is it too much to expect to learn Sanskrit from books? It is certainly too much to expect that from this book.
