FORD FALCONS -- A BETTER IDEA
I love Ford Falcons. I really do. This book has some good factual information about Ford's better idea and some really cool pictures of this really cool car. (I think the coolest Falcons were the 1960-1965 sedans). I was disappointed that the majority of pictures showed Falcon convertibles with the tops being raised or lowered. I had hoped for more pictures of this really excellent classic sedan.

Still, I enjoyed the book. For any Falcon lover, this book is a treat and one that will have you soaring down memory lane in your cool (cyber) Falcon! Just love that better idea Ford car!

(Note: The Ford Ranchero, was a Falcon with a truck back 1960-65, the years that truck and its automobile counterpart looked their coolest to me. I love a Falcon car)!

Falcon! The New-Size Ford
Since it's the only book available that covers Ford Falcons in any detail, it's better than nothing but could have been better. Mostly black and white photos of daily drivers and repetitive shots of convertible roofs being raised and lowered is less than I'd hoped for. Still, there's lots of good information in it. If you're a Falcon owner or fan, you'll want the book.

Good basic information for the DIY
Typical format of most Haynes manuals, good illustrations and pictures. Intended for the do-it-yourself person that has average skills and some knowledge of automotive systems. I particularly like Haynes for their directions on improvising those "special tools" available only to dealers. Sometimes this type of advice is worth the cost of the manual, rather than have to buy or rent a special tool. Be aware this manual does not cover the 4WD models and driveline systems unique to them.

Terrible
I found this book very basic...its allright for the average Joe...it needs better electrical diagrams

Ford Flathead Builders Handbook
I believe that the Title of this book should be "Ford Flathead Builders Handbook 1932-1953" not 1932-1958. Jay Smith

Ford Flathead V-8 Builder's Handbook 1932-1953
Book is fully illustrated, shows stock & high performance rebuilds; finding the perfect block, selecting the correct components; manifolds, heads, camshafts, crankshafts, pistons, ignitions, exhaust, boring, stroking, porting & relieving & cooling. Very well put together book.

Shop manual "wannabe"
Not sure why it is called a shop manual. A guy in a shop who is depending on this "shop manual" is in real trouble. It is not very comprehensive. The index is wrong, for example- information on the oil pump is not found on the page listed for oil pump info. Parts of the manual are fairly comprehensive but I found it lacking in many areas. It appears to be a botched reproduction of manual that really was a good one. I found the same manual in a tractor store for twice the price, so it is probably worth the money although one would have to seek out other sources of information to "fill in the gaps".

very informative
i recommend this book for anymore who might be looking for a manual for their ford n series tractors. i recieved mine just the other day and its great. the only problem with the manual is the index is alittle off on things but the book is good in getting you started on the road to fixing and repairing your tractor. pictures of parts and instruction is well done

A suicide of the great character
The great founder of the world's automotive industry, genius of American enterprise. This one man contributed more to humanity than millions of Zion followers who are determined to attack anyone who dares to study their methodology. Henry Ford conducted a scientific research in the field of history and practices of this powerful ethno-religious group and shared this with the American public in the book called "The International Jew". If you, the reader, ignore him, that perhaps would cost you more than him.

an interesting and short read
An excellent guide to Henry Ford's anti-Semitic ties and conduct, including (possibly) financing Hitler. And short too-you can read it in a few hours.

The best part of the book had nothing to do with anti-Semitism: an account of a libel trial in which Ford fought an accusation that he was "ignorant" but in doing so proved his ignorance. For example, when asked about the American Revolution, he said "I recall something like that happened in 1812." I find it reassuring to know that today's teenagers aren't the only people ignorant about history.

Very Unsatisfying
This book was a disappointing rehash of mostly outdated Hot Rod articles on the small block Ford. Other than the article on the long-rod 351W, most of it was information which might have been cutting edge in the '70s and '80s, but is obsolete now, especially at it pertains to cylinder head technology. Who needs to learn how to spend $800 porting old, heavy iron heads, when there are now myriad aftermarket aluminum heads which flow much better right out of the box for just a couple of hundred bucks more? I expected to have relevant articles in one place which I could use as a starting point for figuring out appropriate engine combinations. Instead I was treated to articles on the 351C and 400M featuring engine builders wearing mutton chops and bell bottoms. I felt taken. Shame on Petersen Publishing for doing this to their loyal readers. One would do much better getting Isaac Martin's "Ford Windsor Small-Block Performance".

A great informational on Ford Hi-Performance Engines. Hot-Rod Magazine pulls together a wealth of past techincal information printed in Hot Rod Magazine. A great way to keep the best of tech information without keeping a cloest of past issues.

Nissan Patrol & Ford Maverick automotive repair manual : 1988 through 1997

Nissan Patrol/Safari
Limited use, good general book covering essentials. Fails to cover minor model changes adequately. Note seperate books for diesel and petrol versions are available. Manufacturers manual available and worth considering, again there are suppliments depending on the year.

Nissan Patrol - Workshop Wizzadry - still sought.
The writer's assume everyone knows that in Australia, Ford shared the floorpan and general mechanicals with Nissan to manufacture their 'Mavrick.' Similar assumptions about numerious specification details continue throughout the manual which makes it at best a 'guide' rather than a Bible. Many Patrol varients (e.g 2.9 litre diesel engine as supplied in Europe, the servo assisted braking system and modified bodywork on post 1990 models) are just not covered, let alone explained with any authority, at all.

Specific details are rare and accurate model variations are simply not considered. Schematics or parts lists would be sheer gold. Forget it, the realively low cover price excludes such luxury. Broadsweeeping directions which ignore key technical procedures are all too frequently made, perhaps leaving the reader wishing he/she had simply purchased the manufacturers workshop manual instead, or succumbed to the local dealers prowess and their resulting fees!

No matter, as the Nissan Workshop manual is not so easily obtained this publication is a good investment for those starting out on the long road of self maintenance. Helpful pictures combined with step by step descriptions for stripping and rebuilding many components instills a sense of confidence which gets you on your way and 'Voila" success is soon within your grasp!

This manual is better than nothing, because apart from it, "nothing" is all there is out there!

So buy this manual and with good luck you will enjoy the ride....

Poetical Works of Shelley

A fine bargain edition
I would recommend this volume for all casual students and readers of Shelley. It is inexpensively priced, and I believe it contains all the pieces printed in Mary Shelley's 1839 version of her husband's "complete works," along with their corresponding prefaces (rarely provided in more insipid 'best of' collections of Shelley). However, I am unable to award this book a higher rating because it is plagued by some very glaring typographical errors and misprints (example: "and if the spark with which Heaven lit my spirit/Had been with purer nutriment supplied" from "The Triumph of Life" is presented as "purer sentiment" in the Wordsworth edition). Nevertheless, at less than 5 bucks, this book is a great introduction to the unjustly neglected poetic achievement of Shelley, in my opinion the supreme genius of the great triad of the younger Romantics.

Small Print makes reading hard
Personally, I thought the Poetry itself wasn't too bad. Unfortunately the print was way too small, making reading difficult. For that reason, it didn't hold my interest too well. I hope to return to the book again later, once I get my new prescription specs.

Twisters! (Step into Reading. Step 3 Book)

Too graphic !!
I bought this book for my six year old son, and I was horrified by the way the book began to change about mid-way through.
The details of death and destruction are much too mature for young children, and the illustrations go as far as to show the dead bodies of people and animals lying in the wake of the twister!! I had even flipped through the book before purchasing it but was still unaware of some of the violent images until I read through the entire book. So if you intend to buy this online where you cannot check every page beforehand......beware!

Weird Weather!
Interested in weird weather patterns and events? This book is perfect for learning about and/or teaching weird weather! Hurricanes and tornadoes are vividly described by Penner with a well-paced easy to read text! The illustrations are beautiful! A must for elementary school teachers who teach weather units!

Sure it LOOKS good, BUT........
I purchased this book to assist me in making better quilt blocks. However, I was very disappointed that block measurements were NOT given. Block patterns were supposed to be transferred to fabric, but did not include the measurements of each section. This was frustrating if you are a careful piecer and want to make sure each block is the correct size and don't like to trace. Instead, the piecer is forced to trace every section, which isn't practical for larger-sized quilts.

The lack of block dimensions made this book frustrating for me. I would recommend it only for people who like to trace, and don't mind the extra chore of photocopying the patterns, adding seam allowances etcetera before getting started.

A QUILT FOR YOUR STATE
THIS QUILT BOOK IS SIMPLE BUT INTERESTING BOOK. NORTH CAROLINA HAS A REAL PRETTY QUILT PATTERN AND TEXAS HAS THE STAR OF TEXAS OF COURSE, COLORADO HAS A PATTERN CALLED THE RISING SUN. WITH A LITTLE IMAGINATION USING YOUR OWN COLORS YOU CAN SEE SOME AWESOME QUILTING POTENTIAL!
