Carburetor Performance
I have been around cars for more than fourty years,This book was still a great learning Tool.
Clearly written and detailed,Linked up a lot of pieces of Information I had.And put it in order

Excellent treatment of the subject
I received my copy of this book last night. Although I have only read the first 25 pages, they are excellent and I now understand the principles of carburetion much better than before.

I have previously spent quite a bit of time studying Pat Braden's book on Weber Carburetors, which is a good book specific to Webers. However, Aird's book (to me) provides a much clearer explanation as to the principles involved. Aird is especially helpful in his passages about how and why the air correction jets and emulsion tubes work and how they interact with each other and the main circuit.

As a novice trying to understand and tune my Webers, I'd still buy both books, but I would rely primarily on Aird for comprehension of why the darn things work the way they do.

I feel like a nerd getting excited about a carburetion book, but hey, epiphanies are where you find them.

A Great Decade of Cars
An excellent anthology of the American cars of the decade, with pictures of virtually every model produced. Would be hard to beat.

Relive A Golden American Time
Flammang's book takes you back into the fifties decade where you relive not only the cars but the social and political times as well. The book has lavish color pictures of almost every American car produced during that period. It's excellent reference and a collectible treasure for the baby boomers who remember their early years.

Great for Everything!
We have had this book ever since we restored a 1970 ElCamino. We are currently in the middle of a 1971 Monte Carlo, and although some of the information is different, much of it is accurate for the MC as well. Our friends borrow this book so often we have to sign it out to them. Currently it is invaluable in researching a 1975 Nova. As with the MC, most of the information is the same (paint codes, etc.). I highly recommend this book to anyone researching their car!

The BEST way to properly identify the validity of a car.
This book gives just the right amount of detail to provide the car owner or a buyer with what the numbers really mean. It will also tell you in a hurry whether the equipment on your car is truly "original" I have accurately identified my 71 Elky as well as many others.

It is also a great reference when buying an "original" car. As some options for some cars were not identified by the factory apart from the original build sheet, the book only tells you about the numbers that you can find on various components. As an example, a 1970 SS was not identified by any of the numbers as an SS except on the build sheet. However, as any knowledgable enthusiast knows, the build number of the car (6 digits) is also stamped on the front of the block.

All in all a great book. Excellent for the Classic Chevy enthusiast Library.

Classic American Cars
This is like a wish book; I wish my car looked as nice as these restored beauties. All of the displayed cars are show quality and perfect serving as a good model for your own personal ambitions or visions for your vintage car. This book serves as a very useful resource if you have one of these classic American cars because it features many details about your particular model. Most people assume that if you have one these classic cars that it would be a Bel Air but the models vary and only the person in the know can distinguish the features that make one model different from another. Considering that there are not that many pages in this book it packs a wallop with information. When these 3,000 lb. steel road beasts roamed the hiways you could buy one NEW for under $2,000 fully loaded! Included are production details, the history behind the models, including pictures of never mass produced protypes, the color schemes, engine availability, information on options, complete specifications, you name it, this book pretty much covers it all. I found this book to be very helpful for determining facts about my particular 56 Chevy which is a 210 Sport Sedan(I get nice Bel Air all the time) that incidently had a limited production of only 16, 000 cars. it als ohelped to see what things my model was missing. This book is very useful for the hobbist, car enthusiast or anyone who loves the classic Chevy years 1956-1957. If you can find this particular book it is worth it , besides, it has the credibility of the editors from Consumer Reports.

My favorite car chevrolet made!
a beautiful, highly detailed account of the chevrold bel air and nomad. all color photos

Great Reference Material
This is a very informative book with loads of information. Many people who are restoring cars, classic car shows, building factory-stock models of those powerful muscle cars, etc., this guide contains much of the information needed to bring that classic muscle car (or even daily driver) to 100-point show condition. Hey, even a classic game show fan might enjoy this book (e.g., trying to guess how much that 1972 Chevrolet Malibu hardtop coupe costs with certain options, and playing along with that episode of "Let's Make a Deal"). Yes, there are some minor omissions that, while not detracting from the usefulness of this book, they do need addressing. For example, the content of many option packages -- whether trim, convenience, or more importantly performance-oriented -- aren't listed. And, it would have also been nice to list special-order options, Custom Accessories and at least a listing of dealer install-only options. Still, a very useful book and one that will be used and appreciated by all.

Great Book!
This is a fantastic guide that compares well with Michael Antonick's "Camaro White Book" and "Corvette Black Book." Very informative.

GREAT MANUAL!
As an owner of a 1988 GMC 3/4 ton Suburban, 350/2wd, I use this book an awful lot. This manual provides me with detailed explanations of every type of maintenance I do, plus every type of work I have had done to the truck. From lower control arms to shock mounts to leaf springs to radio wiring to heater cores to AC to tune ups to power steering pumps to headliners to window gaskets -- this book has given me the insight to tackle all these jobs successfully. It is the essential manual for my year truck. If you do your own work, you cannot go wrong -- much better than the other two Chilton manuals I have owned (84 nissan sentra, 91 saab 900).

Helpful!
I needed help with my Chevy S10 finding what was the original wiring from what belonged to the security system the previouse owner semi-uninstalled and it really helped me out.

Great Job from Chilton's
I fix my car often and have a few books about it, but none come close to the depth that Chiltons puts into their books. First I do have the Haynes repair guide, but it has very few pictures and does not explain in detail about how to remove some parts of your car. If you need to buy a repair manual for your car then buy Chiltons.

it was very indepth for engine repairs that i needed to due
everyone should read this book, if you ever plan to do the work on your own car. so the car dealers won,t rip you off!!

Concept Cars is a Concept
Concept Cars is an exceptional book! The cars are stunning. The book includes cars like a Dodge Copperhead, a Chrysler Atlantic, a Smart Car, and many other awesome vehicles. Concept Cars has interesting facts to offer and cars that you probably couldn't have dreamed of. If you want some information on some really radical cars, this is the book that you want to read! If you don't want to spend a lot for the real car, this is the next best thing!

An Excelent Book!
One heck of a book! It tells you everything you need to know. The "Concept Cars" book gives you tons of information on the classic, modern, and future concept cars. Each time you turn the page, its a different car. This book explains everything that you need to know, like how fast, or the car's history, it even tells you size, and seating positions, this book even tells you what the car's body is made up of. Like I said, there is everything there is to know about these cars in this book. I recomend this book because it gives alot of information, and also because I enjoy reading about cars. There is a total of 94 pages with many pictures and information. Read this book and you'll be one happy customer!
