Patrick Ertel (also of Antique Power magazine fame) does a excellent job covering the various brands, uses, and history of steam traction engines. He also gives excellent descriptions of how a steam engine works, and there controls and parts. A excellent overall book!

For those with even a passing interest in Citroen cars or the company's founder this book will prove educational and fascinating. The Citroen car, though scarce in the US, is always reverred by automotive journalists, when they are forced to write about the cars. For instance, Autoweek Magazine's inclusion of Citroens in their greatest cars of the century issue. Okay the book, it is well written unlike so many auto books; entertaining, full of interesting info about Andre Citroen's unlikely role as auto entrepreneur, and Paris and France. Mostly, you will be very impressed by the relatively unknown (in USA) Citroen company's major contributions to automotive engineering and efforts in World War II. If you consider yourself knowledgable of cars, include this book and you never refer to a Citroen as an ugly car again. I read this book at the library and probably will buy my own copy.

It is the only art history book on the 1930s in America that includes significant coverage of the importance of the Mexican muralists like Diego Rivera, as well as the extensive activities of African American artists and critics. I am in my mid seventies and a flustrated automobile designer all my life. The author does it again! This time he captures 50 of the best sportscars with purpose made photography, done especially for the book, and writes simple but very informative text so everyone can relive the best of the best.

I loved the history, the photos and the journey from start to present. I noticed the author, Paul Harris, is also the editor of "Audi Driver", but haven't been able to find any information on this publication. I would love to get my hands on that one!! I recommend this book to anyone who loves Audi's as much as I do.

A great book which provides instructional information and advice for beginners to professionals. Has lots of diagrams and pictures. Stirs up interest in understanding as well as appreciating the automotive repair and service. Would be a better than basic guide and referance book to have.
