Must have for anyone driving in Boston
The best kind of humor turns a mirror to the world and shows us the absurdity in our daily lives.

On the one hand, this is a very instructional book with good, practical advice on driving and parking in the Boston area. On the other hand, it's simply hysterical. I almost wish I had this book when I first started driving in Massachusetts, but I think having experienced it all before reading the book made it that much funnier.

Anyone who lives and drives in Boston, or anyone moving to Boston who plans to drive a car, should read this book. Afterwards, you will fit right in on the Massachusetts roadways. Even if you aren't interested in using these techniques, understanding them helps protect you from other drivers who do. And the more you've actually experienced Boston drivers, the funnier it gets.

A sample quote, regarding increased enforcement of traffic laws: "[T]here is a renewed emphasis on FORM. You must avoid the APPEARANCE of impropriety. For example, illegal turns should be done smoothly, without signaling and without guilt. One-way maneuvers should be done in reverse gear -- your car will be facing the right way, you won't stand out, and you won't get a ticket. Establish your rule of the road with finesse and class, so that it appears to be the natural order of things."

I hope it comes back in print soon.

Best A7/10 manual available
This was Haynes' 1st repair manual and it is the best single-source manual for pre-unit twin BSAs. As in all subsequent Haynes manuals, their staff actually dismantles and rebuilds a BSA, presenting readers with photos of the whole operation. This book and a copy of the spares manual are all you need to keep your Golden Flash, etc. in fine trim.- Bill Litant, president emeritus, BSA OWners Club of New England

A must-have title for the BSA enthusiast.
This is a great book on the history of BSA motorcycle production. Wright tells the story of how the Company lived and changed through decades of manufacturing. BSA was a very strong brand at one time and even advertised themselves as, "The Most Popular Motorcycle in the World." Wright explains the marketing decisions BSA made through the years and why they moved in the directions they did. Wright is obviously well informed and interested in the subject, which makes his style very classy. The Birmingham Small Arms Company did not always make the best decisions, but even when describing the company's downfalls, Wright treats the subject with respect. His reader is kept interested with "insider" details about the Company and there are enough pictures of BSA bikes to keep any owner satisfied. The book contains detailed information about individual models, so you can learn about bikes you may have only heard of or seen once. All the bikes are in there, from thumper to tripple with clearly reproduced photos. This book is a must-have for your BSA library.

Be one of the people building the iron
Eric does a very good job of using pictures with people or cars in them to show the scale of just the small parts of these machines. You will be taken on a pictorial journey of the assembly process of some of the worlds largest earthmovers.

Each chapter brings a different type of machine covering many makes. If one particular machine is featured there is always equal time to the other manufacturers. You are not lead to believe that what is in the book is the biggest or best of that type of machine. If another manufacturer has built something larger or just a little different it is mentioned or shown. Very fair and unbiased account of all machines.

Eric manages to find some of the best pictures in the earthmoving industry that you will ever see.

Add this book to your earthmoving library.

Truly One of the most best tales on Buying and leasing Cars
When I first ventured into reading this wonderfully woven book, I entered a whole new world of magic. That magic was never absent throughout the entire journy and really excited me into learning more about buying and leasing cars. Although the title may lead a person on into believing the book to be dry, it is far from that. It is a excellently written book that gives you what you want from a book like this. When the reader finishs the book he feels he has learned a great deal about the subject. Buy and Leasing Cars has never been so fun!

The best book about cable cars.
George Hilton's book is the most thorough study of the technology and the history of cable cars ever written. I am happy that it is available again; this book taught me that cable cars existed in many places besides San Francisco.

THE book on Camaro
This is an Automotive Quarterly book, and anyone who knows AQ knows it's the most authoritative source on auto history and development. This book does not disappoint. You'll find after page of detailed anecdotes on the building of Camaro from GMs first panicked race to catch the Mustang through increasingly more stylish later generations, complete with 600+ pictures, many from inside GM, of design ideas, built and cast aside. What's more, Gary Witzenburg's prose is fast reading and objective, and filled with insightful quotes from Camaroistas that were there. Great book on "Chevy's fast friend." And if you didn't know that one meaning of Camaro is friend in French, read this book!

Helps "De-stress" a Difficult Process
A little background study with this book is a wise investment. What I like best is how this book presents the "other side" and takes you inside the mindset of the salesman: the deal from the seller's perspective. The author reveals certain "trade secrets" and explains why the wife, and not the husband, is the most feared element by the salesman. He also tells why shopping and buying on separate days is vital. Discover why you should take a friend along. Great chapters called "Do's, Don'ts" and "The 36 Most Asked Questions." Having the knowledge in this book could save you thousands of dollars!

Car Buying Online for Dummies (--For Dummies)

Authors: Pierre Bourque and Richard Mansfield
Amazon base price: $24.99
Used price: $3.99
Average review score:

This Book Will Save You Money... Lot's of Money!
This is probably one of the most useful books I have ever bought.

Bourque guided me step-by-step through the process of buying a car online.

My experience was excellent. I got the vehicle I wanted at a price no other "offline" dealer was prepared to touch. I even managed to get them to throw in hundreds of dollars in extras.

I wish everything was this easy. Good job Pierre.
