500 pickups, vans, SUVs and wagons listed - A must to have!
If you are in the market for a new small truck, this is a reference guide that you should have to make an intelligent choice before buying. Please note that the publisher, "IntelliChoice," is using the word "small" in comparison to a Mack or a Freightliner. In this guide you will find more than 500 pickups, vans, SUVs and wagons listed. The guide begins with more than 100 pages of very useful information that helps you understand the economics of buying and owning a vehicle, ie. insurance, finance cost, leasing, safety, tips on buying and more are covered. As you know, the purchase price is only one factor to consider before a purchase. Insurance, maintenance, repairs, depreciation, financing and fuel are also some of the costs that need to be considered. This wonderfully useful guide also gives you a black and white photo of each model, the dealer and list price, a unique "IntelliChoice" value code (Excellent to Poor), projected ownership cost per year, and much more information on each vehicle.

"IntelliChoice" guides retain their usefulness and value over the years if you decide later to purchase a used vehicle. I have guides that go back to 1993 and they are immensely valuable when buying a used vehicle for myself or a friend. I also plan to keep these guides with the hope that I will be around 20 or 30 years from now and I will have a guide that covers all the vehicles sold in America for a particular year. Wouldn't it be nice to have a guide today that shows you photos and evaluations of all the vehicles made and sold in 1969 or 1970? Some prospective buyers may baulk at the price, but when you consider that you will be spending between $15,000 to $30,000 for a new vehicle then the purchase price of this unique guide is only a minuscule .002% of your cost. Highly Recommended.

Computerized Vehicle Routing and Scheduling in Road Transport
Published in Hardcover by Avebury (January, 1996)

"Now that the 'information age' is upon us, our focus of attention is shifting from technology to applications. Peter Eibl's book represents a valuable contribution to this transition, concentrating as he does on the benefits of using information systems and the associated management issues of assessment and implementation." -- Professor James Cooper, Director of the Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Transportation, Cranfield University, UK

"It is a well researched and thoughtful book which fills a gap in transportation and information technology literature. While most of the previous research was preoccupied with computational aspects of computerised vehicle routing and scheduling, this book provides an excellent and original analysis of the technology's adoption, practical benefits and implementation. It is well grounded in existing literature, but special strengths derive from the author's meticulous methodology including both qualitative (case study) and quantitative research (survey) instruments. With just the right balance between theory and empirical data, this book will be of interest not only to academics, but also to companies as well as to professional associations and institutes. Students will find this book to be a valuable source for management issues of information technology in general." -- Professor Derek H. Smith, Reader and Deputy Head of Department of Mathematics and Computing, University of Glamorgan, UK

"An invaluable read for any manager whose influence extends to distribution. From conscientiously and strenuously pursued research, Peter has distilled the factors that successful implementation depends upon. His research confirms the broad and substantial benefits of Computerised Vehicle Scheduling, suggests that it will increasingly be used by companys' competitors and shows that individual companies will not be able to use it successfully unless they ensure that they get a few essentials right." -- Dr. David Holmes, Managing Director, Paragon Software Systems plc.

". . . a very comprehensive and detailed review of the basic principles, of the technology available, of its applicability to various parts of the industry, and how it should be introduced. . . . a first-class guide to the logistician seeking a way through the maze of assorted information available from a wide variety of sources on the current technology." -- Proceedings (Chartered Institute of Transport) ". . .an excellent study, based on a very detailed survey, and should be required reading on the part of anyone with an interest in this absorbing subject." -- Aslib Book Guide

". . . a helpful contribution to understanding CVRS in road transport and the issues which affect its successful adoption and use." -- Environment and Planning B: Planning and design

Book Description: This book is aimed at both academics and practitioners interested in the user or management aspects of computerised vehicle routing and scheduling (CVRS) in road transport. The software is investigated with respect to its use in an operational, tactical and strategic role. The empirical findings highlight the fact that CVRS technology is used only by a relatively small number of organizations despite being an effective means to improve the efficiency of transport operations and to provide substantial intangible benefits such as improved control and enhanced customer service. What are the reasons for this apparent "user-gap" between the available CVRS technology and the organizations that most need it? How can the technology be successfully implemented? The research tools employed to find the answers to these questions are both quantitative and qualitative. Their combined use, known as the "triangulation of measurement" approach, is of interest to social science students generally. Contents: Introduction; Basics of VRS; Success of CVRS; Adoption of CVRS; CVRS models in the organizational context; Factors associated with the adoption of CVRS; Factors associated with the success of CVRS; Critical evaluation of the CVRS models and opportunities for their further development. -- Dr. Peter Eibl, University of Glamorgan, UK.

An excellent resource for the new car buyer, this book allows one to flip a page and compare virtually all makes and models of cars, minivans, and SUV's prior to purchase (excluding pickup trucks). Each vehicle is reviewed individually and the dealer invoice is included for all trims, including options! Considering the price, this book can easily provide a hundred-fold return on investment.

accurate historical accounting of the people, times & car.
This book is highly recommended for a totally insightful view of the times and situation(s) that led to the creation of what was a futuristic all-out artistic object that occurred because of the right things being in the right place at the right time. The fact that the subject matter just happens to be an automobile is secondary to the author's placement of people and events which conspired to let these events occur in the first place, yielding a beautiful work of U.S. industrial art.

Keep up the great work, Noland
If you want an answer to a Corvette question, there is one person to ask. So when an accurate history of the Corvette is to be written, there is one person to write it.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Noland Adams' previous books include Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide, Volume I, 1953-62 and Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide, Volume II, 1963-1967. These detailed publications have become necessary reading for anyone restoring a first or second generation Corvette. Now he is catering to the non-technical Corvette enthusiast.

Timed perfectly to coincide with the introduction of the fifth generation edition of the two-seat fibreglas coupe, Corvette: American Legend just scratches the surface of this 45 year old icon. So detailed is this book that the tenth chapter is called "The Corvette becomes a Reality" and it takes another three chapters to get to "Job 1 rolls of the Line."

Steps leading to the "Reality" chapter outline the development of the program. From the earliest ins

Corvette Specs: 1984-1996 Models
This is an outstanding book. Author Mike Antonick is well-known as the writer of "Corvette Black Book" and "Corvette! The Sensuous American." "Corvette Specs 1984-1996" is another example of his fine work. There is a very interesting forward with Antonick's recollections of the C4's (Corvette, fourth generation) introduction to the press in December, 1982. Chapter 1 presents the conception and development of the car. Subsequent chapters cover each model year with text, photos, and sidebars listing options and paint and interior colors. Antonick includes GM press releases in each chapter. They are good, but I enjoy his observations more. The end of each chapter has voluminous specifications from the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association, which have been edited for accuracy by Antonick and John Amgwert of the National Corvette Restorers Society. "Corvette Specs 1984-1996" shines because of Antonick's enthusiasm and attention to detail. It is easily one of the best Corvette books available.
