A book that tries to highlight the role of system formation processes that aren't deliberately planned in Toyota. It is written after the author's past works on functional analysis of existing/planned manufacturing systems in automobile industry and Toyota in particular. The presentation adopts the evolutionary approach considering that manufacturing systems aren't merely a product of deliberately planning. Some of Toyota's successful routines may have originated unintentionally. Social systems often evolve because of unanticipated events and unplanned behavior. This idea is related to system emergence, a concept central to the evolutionary framework the author has adopted. What the author has presented and uncovered from Toyota's experience can be happened in other companies or may have been taken place in other companies. This is an example of presentation that we cannot find easily for other successful companies using an evolutionary approach, not strictly in a neo-darwinian framework. This book gives us general idea on how company's organizational capabilities were born and helps us understand particularly how Toyota has created its style manufacturing system and capabilities. A book that is worth-reading not only for scholars and students in management and organizational science, but also by those being actors in companies' building capabilities.

This is a great book to see wonderful pictures and to experience what made some of the earliest bicyles different. Each picture comes with a small description of the bike, such as year and name. This is quite helpful in determining if you really bought what you think you did.

This book is a must for every bike Enthusiast, and a gotta have for all vintage or modern bike collectors. I give it 5 stars!

If you LOVE the American Classic Cars from the 50's, including lots of information, stories, ads and fads of the day, then this is the book for you. Loaded with photos. Although mostly in black and white, the photos that are in color, are worth the price of the entire book. A great reference that includes all the marques and fads that made the 50's a time we'll never forget.

An excellent guide to the costing, performance calculation and operation of farm machinery. The text is written extremely well and is easy to comprehend. Topics include machine performance, power performance, operator performance, costs, power and equipment selection, most farm operations are included. Only critism is that the computer programs are in Basic language (Excell would be prefered). Although principally for students of farm machine management, it would prove useful for any consultants or contractors dealing with farm machiney.

I was impressed by the details of early problems and the way solutions to them by the company were presented.

This book is a great reference for Ferrari racing history. It covers all of the great side stories that only the insiders knew about while they were going on. My personal favorite part was the section on Senna and his promise to join the team that was never upheld because his life was cut short. The only thing missing is the actual race results. If you need a book for that, I highly recommend The Complete Encyclopedia of Formula One. This book has everything you need to know about every team that ever existed, every circuit ever raced on, every points scoring driver, and the results of every race from the beginning of the championship to the end of 1999.

A good overview on the roadgoing Ferraris, but because of the age of the book it stops with the Berlinetta Boxer and 308GTB/GTS.

I bought this book in 1992 and have read it many times since.

With probing essays from Moretti and Pininfarina, and beautifully reproduced photos and original Ferrari design documents, this is THE Ferrari book to own.

This book contains the entire history of Ferrari up until the mid-70s. If you are a Ferrari enthusiast of the older cars this is a required book on your shelf. The book contains hundreds of black and white photos as well as several color fold-outs. ISBN 0878800190 is the third revised and enlarged edition of the original Ferrari classic. Note that there is a fourth revised edition. If you are a collector I highly suggest getting a 1st edition and a 4th edition for the comprehensive extra information.

Very informative. I'm planning on building a house and some parts of the roof are very curvy. I needed to learn how to make and use fiberglass so I could make forms for the curved section. Before I read this book, I didn't know the first thing about Fiberglass. Now I'm getting very good at it.
