Mack Model C Fire Truck
This is an excellent book for anyone interested in fire trucks especially those built by Mack. The quality of the photos is superb and the information is broken down by specific model type. I found this book very informative (I'm a Mack fire appartus buff) and I would highly recommend this book and the others in the Mack series.

A definitive corporate biography enhanced with period photos
The Magic Of A Name: The Rolls-Royce Story is a fascinating and informative history of the first forty years of the internationally famous Rolls-Royce company, whose achievements were part and parcel of the technological advancements of the twentieth century. It was in 1904 that Henry Royce and Charles Rolls collaborate to build luxury cars for the rich. Then successfully engineered the "Silver Ghost" and launched one of the most successful car manufacturers of their day. The impact of both World Wars compelled the corporation to the cutting edge of aeronautical engines for such legendary aircraft as the Spitfire, Hurricane, and American Mustang. Peter Pugh draws upon his extensive researches with company archives to write a definitive history, enhanced with sections of period photographs. The Magic Of A Name is the superb biography of a great company.

Excellent
This is one of the best Seven books I have read (and I own them all). Covers every model of the Seven (Lotus and Caterham) from 1957 up to 2002. Over 50 models highlighted each with 1-3 pages about it. Photos of every model. Series I to Blackbird 7's. If you want a good overview of the Seven heritage this is your book. Not the best book for restoration but after Tony Weale's book this is about the most complete I have seen. No Lotus stories all Seven related.

Manx Norton
Published in Hardcover by Aston Hall Pubns (April, 1990)
Author: Mick Walker
Amazon base price: $29.95
Average review score:

Complete, great photos, terrific history
I really enjoyed this book. It's an in-depth history of the Norton Manx racing motorcycles from their inception, through their racing successes, famous tuners, and all the way to the current vintage scene.

There is reasonable technical information, but more enjoyable are the narratives of racing successes, the development of the bike, etc. There are lovely period photographs of the bikes in action, the engines as they evolved, period memorabilia, etc.

There are even sections on the use of the Manx engine in car racing, etc.

I truly enjoyed this book. As I am a fan of the Norton Manx bikes, I liked this book more than many of the other Norton books which describe all the single cylinder bikes, or the twins, etc.

Highly recommended.

Massey Harris Bible ?
I found this book exceptional relative to a number of other books I have on Massey Harris tractors. It has more detail such as tire sizes and specifications in addition to serial number information even for obscure tractors such as my I244G of which only a few hunderd were made. It has some pictures, but I would not buy it for the pictures in general - still it has the only published picture of the I244. Oltrogge is the publisher of Massey Harris Collector magazine and he knows his stuff. It is a must have for any Massey collector.

tri-pointed star
this is one of the best books on the market concerning this unexplored area. The photos are clear and detailed. The story is well written and includes where the surviving cars are today and when you can see them in person. The bibliography is also a wealth of furthur information. One thing- you have to get the dust jacket with this book, the photo is fantastic.

The Merritt Parkway
Published in Hardcover by Yale Univ Pr (October, 1993)

Super history of the nation's most beautiful highway!
If you were ever interested in finding out more about how highways were built before the Interstate system, this is the book for you! The Merritt Parkway and its extension the Wilber Cross Parkway remain marvelous designs to this day and are still enjoyable to travel on during every season. If you are from Connecticut or nearby New York, this book offers a wonderful historically perspective. The photographs are large and clear and the pages of the book are a good weight. In addition to being a good read, this book promoted a lot of family converstion about the history of the road. My great-Grandfather, for example, was the first person to ever drive over the Sikorsky Bridge built to connect the Merritt Parkway to the Boston Post Road in Milford, CT. This made the book seem all the more personal to me knowing that my family had played a part in Connecticut's history.

Super, super book! Highly recommended to those that love highways and the history of the American road!
