I found this book to be very informational. Good step by step pictures.

This book is a must have for all VW-enthusiasts. It is very informative with lot of information about unusual cars, and less known models. Great pictures. Heard someone talked about Hebmüllers but have no idea what it is? Check out this book. It's all there with pictures and history

this book was great, in depth and without lacking. From the early days to the new bettle, all there, even my Scirocco!!!

I've received my order yesterday and can't wait to start read it!

This is my first Terry's book! Eventhough the book is not so thick(Which I expected it should be),but this book is a excellent phtograph based history of KdF-Wagen-The beetle's 'Dad', undoubtly. Not so many words, just captions,but lots of treasured photos and pictures I've never seen before! (Such as KdF-Wagen and Kubels using alternative fuel(Charcoal,natural-gas),V2,V3 prototypes.....)

The only one thing left to be desired is print quality(I think the publisher should use better paper to print this excellent book for next edition),Based of the great content, I still rank it with five stars!

I can't wait to order the other books of Terry!

Though personally, I find him much sounder on the Mercedes or BMW, but that's just me. Also check out Soren Kierkegaard's masterful explication of the inner workings of the Volvo, and Haruki Murakami's recent works on Toyotas; he is especially enlightening on the interaction of enviromentalism and modern urbanism as represented by the Prius.

I bought this book simply because it covered Corrados which are pretty hard to find print material on. I didn't care if it was good or not, just the fact that it had anything to do with Corrados was enough for me. When I went to "read" the book I skipped to the end where the Corrado was finially mentioned. I figured it would be a little factual blurb about the short lived car but I was delighted to find a significant amount of text devoted to it. I was surprised at just how informative the book is-it covers everything you need to know about the Corrado (US and European versions); you even get subtle opinions thrown in which makes it much more interesting to read. After reading and rereading the Corrado section of the book over and over I was impressed enough to start over at the begaining of the book. Its enjoyable reading, especially for such a factual and informative book. I highly suggest it to any VW fan, or car fan in general for that matter.

This is the best book I have ever seen for the "weekend mechanic". Whether you are just starting out or are looking for a reference book as a refresher, "The Weekend Mechanic's Handbook" will serve you well. The excellent illustrations (photos and diagrams) of various model cars make it easy to extrapolate to your own car. This book covers everything from the very basics of how a car works and what type of tools you need, to minor maintenance (i.e oil change), to more in-depth repairs (i.e. brakes, coolant system, A/C). I found this book just in time- it has helped me save hundreds of dollars in mechanic labor costs. Definitely worth ordering!

A very candid, insightful and easy to read accounts of what went on behind the scene of the DaimlerChrysler meger, begining with a good intro on the backgrounds / history of these 2 organisation... A very well written book.

this is a great book. easy to ready and follow. explains the importance of carseats, being quiet and riding in back seats. a great lesson for us all!
