Quite usefulIf you need to fix something on your vehicle and don't want to pay someone to do it for you, this is the book for you. The diagrams are quite clear. Occasionally, I had problems, just because the book includes information about all of the different engines.
Great basic manualI purchased this manual for general info and torque specs on my son's 90' S-10. The manual not only provided all the information that I needed for the engine overhaul, but my 16 year old son has read the book in detail and it has helped him understand the mechanical workings of his first vehicle. As a result he now consults the book when he wants to know anything about his truck, even removing door panel covers to install new speakers. I recommend this easy to read and understand Chilton manual for anyone wanting to learn the basics about S-10 pickups.

Well researched documentation of retailing change in L.AThe changes in retailing which have taken place in L.A. which are examined in this book have occured throughout the United States and are taking place throughout the world right noe. The population shift to the suburbs and shopping in regional malls.
This has caused the value of retail space to decline in many area of America.
Very Informative Book about Los AngelesIf you ever wanted to know about the history of Los Angeles and how it became a large metropolitian area, this is the book for you. Hundreds of pictures from the late 1800's to the 1950's makes this book a very resourceful tool.

Military Vehicle Restoration in INDIAA very good effort to save the Military Vehicles from the hands of Scrap dealers. Though in India, there is no Military Vehicle Conservation Group or Club, I would request Mr. Jim Allen to help me going about forming such a club. I have in my collection only jeeps, but shortly will be getting a WW II WC-52 (Dodge) Your book is not available in this country. Please give us addresses where it can be found. So far 4X4 vehicles are seen in Vintage and Classic Car Rallies in the major cities. My Research and restoration work is focused on WW II Jeeps. I have 23 such jeeps. Would also like to contact jeep lovers in India with your help.
Great automotive history as well as buying guide. On my web site, The Jeep CJ3B Page, I recently said: Don't be misled by the title of this book -- this is more than just a buyer's guide. As you would expect, it's organized into chapters on all the major (and the more obscure) manufacturers, but those chapters also make for interesting reading and a useful historical and pictorial reference. Of course the Jeep chapter is a long one, and unlike most Jeep histories, it includes several CJ-3B photos. For each make of vehicle there is also a well-researched list of models and estimated values for each model in various conditions.

Fairly informative, but lacking in-depth discussion. This is a good book for a classic collection, gives a good history of Dodge trucks, from Dodge Brothers to now. This is not a technical book by any means, and could use some more photos for reference. Gives some information on production numbers and options, but not in detail.
Great color photosLike most books from Motorsport International this one has an abundance of professionally executed color photos that are reproduced well. Many black and white publicity photos from the manufacturer too. I especially liked the chapter on the Dodge Power Wagons. This book is also reasonably priced. If you collect Dodge trucks and don't already own this book but it now.

good info but datedDrive it Forever is an older book written in the early eighties. It describes strategies for making our cars last longer. Most of the information is helpful, some dated. I did enjoy the parts about gasoline additives and other expensive "juice" to put in your engine. He says to save your money on those products.
Now that our cars do not rust to the frame as they did in the seventies, it is a timely idea to make them last. Drive it forever will give you many hints about how to get your vehicle well over 100,000 miles and if all hints followed, even 1,000,000.
My second copy.I recommend this book highly. It is a great gift to a young first time car owner to teach them good habits. I loaned my copy to a former co-worker and they liked it so much they never returned it. It just makes sense to take care of your car. Not only is a neglected car a drain on your finances in reduced fuel economy and premature failures, it is unsafe to you and other motorist. A driver that does not take care of their vehicle is a "weapon of resource destruction." Think of the time and effort it took to make your car and how many cars there are in landfills and junkyards. I have a 1973 VW Karmann Ghia that still runs like a champ and turns heads everytime I drive it. I also love not having a car payment and having to have expensive full coverage insurance. The money I have saved by not buying a new car has allowed me to own three vehicles for the price of one. The ghia for fun, a 78 VW bus for hauling dogs and camping and a 94 Buick for road trips. Price a new car and factor in the depreciation as soon as you drive it off the lot and you might start taking care of your vehicle.

Good show, old man....Great book but I can't seem to find any mention of the 916 model other than the title and the photo on the cover
AT last, someone with some passionI love Ducatis, they make my heart sing as my mate Rod says "Made by the hand of God" I was so thrilled to read this book that was written by someone who really loves and understands the soul of Ducati. There is so little written now-a-days that comes from the heart and this is a welcome change. Oh and there is a lot of really cool stuff about Ducatis in this, yum yum.

Engine Builder's HandbookHaving rebuilt three of my own engines over the last year, I was looking for hints and tips to improve my results and to raise my skill level. From the very beginning of the book, Monroe's attention to detail and common sense approach has done just that for me. This book is worth reading by anyone who has an interest in engines and rereading before any engine rebuild. I highly recommend it.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYETHIS IS A BOOK THAT CAN BE REREAD MANY TIMES. THE AUTHOR KNOWS OF WHAT HE SPEAKS. THE MATERIAL IS VERY COMPLETE. I LEARN SOMETHING EVERY TIME I REFER TO THIS BOOK. HAVING ATTENDED NUMEROUS SEMINARS AND SCHOOLS ON ENGINE BUILDING I USE THIS BOOK CONSTANTLY.

Great stories about a Great Car!This little book was devoured in a couple of hours - couldn't put it down! It was chock full of interesting facts about the Z - some we'd all seen before but a bunch of new stuff as well. Great stories about the Z's competitive history (with very good photos). Tracing the car's design evolution from concept to 240Z thru the 280ZX was well documented and illustrated. Well written and easy to read without much technical jargon to bog you down. Z owners need to get this book - it'll make you proud of your car!
Great 1st Genation Z historyA must have for any Datsun 240z, 260Z, 280Z enthusiast. Great photos (many in color), and the in depth history is excellent. It includes a wide range of historic info including early history from predecessor cars, racing history, special modifications such as the Samari, differences of the various model years, and much more. If you are interested in the 1st generation Z cars, you will love this book. It is very well written, very readable, well organized, and very professionally done. I highly recommend it.

A good WWII jeep starter bookI think the essential military jeep is a nice starter jeep book if you are interested in the GPW/MB. I own a 42 GPW script and I found it a very good starting point in terms of pictures and reference material. It fills in a lot of the details about jeep production etc. It would be excellent for a plastic modeller as well. If you own a MB/GPW, then you will quickly want to move on to the All-American Wonder series by Ray Crowdery, and Larwrence Nabholtz's self-published book.
Jeep Review...Vintage .....Back in early days of the requirements for a four wheel drive vehicle, before the big war....many plans had been submitted. In the end, Bantam,Ford and Willys were tested...Willys came thru and was accepted...Ford was also into the act, under license and both companies went into production, making one of the best known combat seasoned vehicles of the War, The Jeep. This book gives a run down on the design and planning of the Jeep....right up to 1945...It is a worthy book, well illustrated and deserves a place on the coffee table! Very informative, but lacking some rather notable modelsThis book offers a fairly detailed history of several notable models in the history of Alfa Romeo. However, I was kind of disappointed on the choice of vehicles reviewed, and felt that certain models, such at the 8C2900 Spider by Touring, Guilia GTV, Alfasud, and the late model 164 should have been given consideration, considering their inpact on the marque as a whole. Overall, though, an entertaining and enjoyable read.
The ultimate coffee-table Alfa book!Greggio and Bacchi have assembled, photographed and praised 33 timelessly beautiful and important Alfas. Why 33? Alfisti will know why, and it's that sort of a book. On each car expect a chapter on it's origins, significance in the history of Alfa, basic information on its mechanicals and above all a discussion on its styling. The book is full of fascinating information - who made the bodywork for the T33 Stradale (there's that number again), how did the styling for the Montreal change from the Expo concept into the production model?
Time and time again I go back to this book not for any 'hard' information but just to dream a little over exotic Alfas that I'll probably never own, or to kick myself as to why I ever sold some of the others. Highly recommended.
