Guter Kauf!
Ansonsten: Empfehlenswert!

Essential for Mustang enthusiasts!
Lots of terrific, useful information is packed into this slim little book. Even someone who knows nothing about Mustangs can be well on their way to becoming an expert after reading this book. People wanting to purchase a Mustang will have an idea of what various models and options were available; and, more importantly, will be able to tell if one is real or fake. Someone who already has a Mustang and is restoring it will be able to decode the plate (or sticker) on the back of the door and see what color combination their car was, when it was made, and even where it was originally shipped. Everything is covered, from the "plain-Jane" six-cylinder coupes to the hot Boss models to the 1995 cars. While this is not the be-all-and-end-all of Mustang information, it is one of the first books an enthusiast should pick up when looking for Mustang information.

Performance Wheels & Tires
This is the definitive reference for performance (and even non-performance) wheels and tires and everything relating such as wheel alignment. This is truly the nerd's book of wheels and tires, as every question I've ever had about wheels or tires is answered in this book. A must-read for any novice or even pro street enthusiast or racer. I consider this the bible of those things that are round and allow a vehicle to roll. Long time coming. Glad it's available. This Mavrigian guy really put a lot of time into this book, and it shows. Great info for anyone, short of a professional tire engineer.

Nice resource
This book is a great example if you want Road tests of the cars when they came out. Actual numbers for the cars. A few of the articles are about modified cars as well. Most of this stuff came out of Hot Rod and Car Craft. I rated it 4 stars due to the all black and white pages. I recommend this book for every Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am enthusiast, especially new guys starting out. You can get the facts about that car and how it tested the year of manufacture.

Firebirds are one of a kind
In a world of a million Camaros that all look alike and so many 5.Slow Rustangs you swear your grandmother has one, a Pontiac Firebird stands out and demands respect. Being the proud owner of a 1967 Pontiac Firebird I know that I have the meanest and fastest car on the street. Get this book and learn more about Poncho Power.

Porsche 968 (Osprey Classic Marques)
Published in Paperback by Osprey Pub Co (May, 1994)
Authors: David Sparrow and Adrienne Kessel

The Photogenic 968 Gets It's Due.
In a market dominated by 911 books, it's refreshing to run into books devoted to the other more forgotten models of the marquee. With the proper expectations, The British published, "Porsche 968" by David Sparrow and Adrienne Kessel is a satisfying and charming book with a look at one of the best front engine Porsche's ever assembled.

"Porsche 968" begins with a sketch of Porsche history and subsequent evolution of both model and automaking philosophy. The centerpiece of the outline is the front engine models leading us squarely to the 968. Again, understanding that this book isn't very technical compared to some of the other Porsche books is key for enjoyment. It does however evolve into a scrapbook of sorts that's rich in beauty but light in detail.

The book has outstanding photography of 968's using stunning European scenery as a backdrop, honestly some of the best photos I've seen on the model anywhere. The creators use quality locations you would think would make the Porsche advertising braintrust sit up and take notice. Starting on page 168, there is a wonderful section on the specifications of the 968 with an X-ray version of the model that brings back memories of sales brochures in 80's of 924/944 models. The specifications read like information you would find in the top auto trade publications or Porsche produced sales brochure.

The "Zuffenhausen" section boasts wonderful shots of production lines at Porsche and fill in just enough text to make the brief tour enjoyable. Photography comparible to shots you would actually find on the Porsche websight which is a major compliment. If you find the manufacturing side of the Porsche 968's fascinating, this section alone might be worth the purchase of the book alone considering that process is edited beautifully.

If your considering this book for the kind of reading that will absorb you in technical detail, you will be disappointed. The strength of this book is unquestionably the quality of photography which emphasizes the beauty of the 968. The Porsche 968 is an absolutely stunning automobile and superbly exibited in the pages of this little book. Considering that the number of books on this automobile may be as rare as the model itself, I would say "Porsche 968" is a good find and worthy of adding to the collection.

Great pictures, good information
the book has great pictures, all in color, good information, a spec list at the end, but there are too many spelling and grammar errors but it's worth getting anyway. Detailed in how the car came about, how it's made, and how it runs.

solid business book
All too often, academic studies in business (and many areas for that matter) are exercises in sausage production: they repackage a few new facts in some worn out methodology and claim it is new. But at their best, they can provide a new framework and vocabulary to adress complex new issues. PDP was just such a book on the auto industry, which was in serious crisis in the 1980s.

This is one of the first and best books on concurrent engineering (cross functional development) and it sets a very high standard. It is well written and persuasive. While some diagrams are overly ambitious - one has 59 arrows and 14 explanatory captions - it rarely gets bogged down in jargon or long proofs. Upon re-reading it, it does not at all appear out-dated; indeed, their prescriptions appears to have been learned and integrated into many American industries, from autos to computer networks.

Successfully measured competitiveness in the Auto Industry
This book is very famous in the auto industry. It describes and compares world auto makers' overall competitiveness with regard to product development. It explains to us why the Japanese auto makers dominated world auto market in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. The Japanese introduced their products far faster than competitors, the Europeans and Americans, to the global market, not to speak of their superior product quality. What happened to them? Were there any market condition involved? The answer is no. The Japanese product managers were champions not coordinators or linkage men. They influenced more power over functional product development teams, such as styling, design, testing. The Japanese also showed real TQM(Total Quality Management) not a lip-service. I think this book helped other automakers to scrutinze their process and to prepare for the next challenge. The Americans and European automakers do not lag behind now in the survival races. They get back to their position as world leader as they did in the early 1900s. If you want to know more about the logic and reasoning, this book has more.

Enlightening, Entertaining and Candid
If you are of an autombile mind, then "Road Trips..." is a great book to read while in the coffee shop, waiting for the drawbridge to come down, or just to fill time. It is a collection of short stories from various authors, making it a collage of driving cultural tidbits that inform and entertain. The hardcover edition is nostalgical, appealing--a beautiful, classical cover with natural, thick pages--that made me want to head down to Route 66 from beginning to end, and hit every diner in between. I'm glad to be a part of the American Culture, and especially the driving culuture, as peoples past could not have imagined--nor enjoyed--the thrill at travelling at a mile a minute as easily as putting on your clothes. "Road Trips..." is a journey in itself, and I dare not spoil the trip for you. Lindamood did a fantastic editing job by keeping her hands out of the mix unless necessary; she let the writer do the talking. Great reading for all minds over 15 (language). Makes a great gift for the driver in your life.

Road Trips Rocks
This book is a well compiled anthology of porbably the best Automotive writings anywhere. Try it! Also...if you like this you should read her monthly column in Automobile Magazine.

the best SD1 book currently available
Karen writes with authority about the SD1. She covers the development of the car, the people behind the project and looks at each variant of the SD1 in turn. A wealth of information is disclosed to the reader, but in an informal manner, so as not to bog down the casual reader. Sometimes however, there are a few sarcastic remarks in the text that spoil the flow of the text. There are some excellent colour photographs although most are black and white. Best of all, there is a picture of my own car lurking in the background. A worthy addition to the bookshelf of any Rover enthusiast but a must for any SD1 nut.

History of SD 1 makes fascinating reading
When the Rover SD 1 was released in 1976, it as a revolutionary design, as it was the first luxury car with a hatchback. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as succesful as it should have been. However, it is a very interesting topic for a book, and the author has really done a lot of research before writing it.

Although she is clearly a great SD 1 enthusiast, she is not blind to the car's faults, and she provides a lot of insight as to why it was not so successful. She also discusses those models manufactured outside Great Britain, including the South African models. As you would expect of a book of this quality, there is a beautiful colour section in the middle, and generally, the book is well laid out.

There is no doubt that this book is highly recommended, and that previous and current owners will enjoy it very much.

THE Porsche 356/912 owner's bible
If you buy any book about your Porsche 356/912, this is the one you should read before and after you buy it. Tells you how to rebuild your motor step-by-step, tells you what VW parts are capable of swapping in, details engine differences by year and type, and gives you insight on female pubic hair thicknesses.

I love it - it saved me the trouble of asking stupid questions at the machine shop.

356/912 Engines and the War Against Turkeys
While I've heard some people I respect make negative comments about Harry Pellow and his books, I suspect that's largely due to his irreverent handling of the subject matter. Either way, when I owned my '69 912, I read his books over and over and they were to me the equivalents of Bruce Anderson's 911 book. They are a great combination of quips, detailed procedures and work-arounds. If you're interested in working on early Porsche engines, or just want to bone up on air-cooled 4-cylinder trivia, this book and the ABC's and 1-2-3's of 356/912 Engines are the books for you!
