This book covers nearly every major carbureator design used in the last 50 years. Using a very thorough approach, each design is given a functional overview followed by a section on tuning and adjustment. Constant Velocity (CV)carbs are covered (they're referred to as "CD" or "Constant Depression" in the book), although the examples are dated next to what you'll find on a new motorcycle. Nonetheless the principles hold true. Equal attention is given to older, archaic carb designs, as well as smoothbores and other racer favorites. Careful, you might find yourself reading for the fun of it!

As a collector of Postal items, I find that this book is a great reference for motor vehicles that have moved the mail. The author, being the curator for the Smithsonian Postal Museum has access to many photos that few people have seen. Some of these are just wonderful.

The book is heavily illustrated, and each illustration is identified as to what it is. The history of the Postal Service included with the history of its vehicles is very good, although in order to obtain the complete story, you will need to obtain the rest of Mr. Bruns' books.

A collection of actual print and magazine advertisements from the big American auto makers highlighting big engine, loud and fast cars from early 60's to early 70's.

These advertisments not only show the autos in a great photographical light, they give us a snapshot of the popular culture of the time.

I enjoy flipping throught the book from time-to-time to get new ideas.Looks at all areas of the cars and makes specific reccomendations (these are somewhat out of date at times but the concepts are sound). I wish there were more books like this.

The main scope of this book is four barrels and cobra jets. There is some 302 and 351 info. There's a whole section devoted to applying exterior decals. There is also a general tips and techniques section that's pretty decent.

I recently started racing. Since I'm getting more serious about it, I decided to start looking for a really nice car hauler. I stumbled across this book and love it! "NASCAR Transporters" gives a very good look inside all those trailers you see at the races. Lots of color photos are included with descrpitive text. While no costs for these fully equiped trailers are included, the reader is given plenty of background information on the trailers, packing order, optional equipment and planning. This book is a great primer for those interested in making a large car hauler purchase.

This book is great and have been very helpful for me to install some aftermarket parts. It's very detailed and come complete with pictures and diagram which make my life easier. I'll recommend this book to all Sentra owners.

Taking a road trip? This book is a terrific take along for those games of license plate spotting, showing all the variations of license plates for all 50 states. Perfect for solving the inevitable arguments that occur when someone claims that a car from Hawaii just passed on the New Jersey Turnpike. (If it hasn't happened to you, then you've never taken a road trip in your life or you're an only child and I pity you!)

If you're a license plate collector, this isn't the most in depth book available, but it has wonderful color photographs and appears to be quite up-to-date. You'll be amazed at how many different plates are in circulation, and the variety of artistic interpretations of these everyday, often overlooked objects.

Either way, it's well worth buying and tucking into the glove compartment.

This book is a must if you are trying to restore an old Oliver tractor. There are a lot of color pictures, some are original color. There is also a complete history from Hart-Parr to AGCO/White including a lot of original advertisements. I have been very satisfied with this book

This is an interesting ego-trip examination of the stagnation of General Motors, which beginning in the mid-1970s declined into a top-heavy bureaucracy that appeared to have forgotten it was in the automobile business. DeLorean rammed a literary ice pick into several nerves, though the entire presentation had a bit of an I-told-them-so-at-the-time shade to it.

DeLorean later encountered his own executive problems at DeLorean Motors, but his lawyer was able to convince the jury that Naive John was a victim of entrapment. DeLorean and his Motors never really recovered after that, but the car went on to do very well in three Michael J. Fox movies.
