Review for Car Pricing and LuxuriesThis is a good resource. I used it for research on my own new car. Good source of information.
Not for the future suv buyer, no information in the book.I purchased this book for details and comparison reviews of 1998 suvs. This book does not contain any although the book summary led me to believe that it did. Now I must buy a Trucks review book, because that's the category of vehicle suvs fall under.
This book had everything i neededThis book had every thing that had to do with new cars

GREAT PICTURES, SLANTED NARRATIVEExcellent pictures and decent read but Hodges clearly dislikes the duetto spider.
AlfaziosoI red this book, very nice!I am author of Alfazioso, I am very happy that my book has been very appreciated in europe! I hope that the U.S Alfa's enthusiasts will be happy to read it. Arrivederci
Great pictures, good narrative, what else do you want?Contains 120 foto', 60 in color. 80 pages, production numbers, technical details, etc. Because of the wide range of models it cannot be the ultimate bible in 80 pages, but considdering the price, it is very well spent money. Your partner will hate you for buying it!

How much can you fit into a book this size?If you already know enough to do most of the work on a car or truck where you can reach most of the parts (like maybe you've rebuilt an engine or two, replaced a clutch, put new shoes on drum brakes) then this book will probably provide the information you need to do work on the parts of the Grand Cherokee that you can reach. If you have a good pheumatic ratchet wrench and the time, you can probably do the balance of the mechanical work yourself. This book will not tell you what to do when your coil burns out repeatedly or help you diagnose that your injector pump impeller lunched itself and spit little pieces throughout your entire injection system. Chrysler/Mopar will charge you more than you can imagine to fix those two, and a good - very good - local mechanic will still charge a lot. This is not a book for beginners, but engines built since about 1980 are not for beginners. For me this book rates 4 stars, but for the general market, I'm going with three.
More pictures would be niceI am very happy with this book but it has two major problems.
1) Not so many quality pictures, could be more ilustrated.
2) Doesn't cover so well all some areas (ex: interior and brakes) while extensively cover areas like engine overhaul.
I'd recommend if you are interested in doing some mechanical repairs by your own.

Haynes Jeep Manuals are the BestIf you want to get an upgrade or a problem fixed quick and easy, Haynes Jeep Manuals are by far the best. Trying to buy the original manuals from the Chrysler official website can set you back $70 instead of a great value for [price]

Ehhh....It's a nice book to have but it's just a data book, very little history. Nearly all this information is on the web. Don't spend the bucks if you are only interested in one tractor. You'll only get 1.5 pages of info.
If you want an IH data book, this is the one . . .This little book is great if you are looking for a data book. It runs from 1921 to 1957. This is not a historical book, and doesn't pretend to be. If you read it before you go to a tractor show, you'll enjoy the show that much more because you know what you are looking at! I find it great to read about a particular machine and then see it at a show.
Essential data for IH collectors and enthusiastsThis concise guide contains an incredible amount of information about IH tractors, and is just the sort of thing a collector would want to pack along in a hip pocket to a show, auction, or similar expeditions. Contains enough information to identify models, locate serial #s and establish manufacturing dates, figure out optional features, etc. I find I've referred to it far more often than I anticipated. It has been well worth the small price.

Not So FantasticI found this book to be quite disappointing, especially at its premium price. The poor translation and countless typos make me wonder if they had anyone proof-read the final draft before they printed the English edition. The photos are good but the text and choice of subject matter are questionable.
Striving for perfection - like the cars themselvesA cut-above the normal coffee-table automobile book, distinguished not only by beautiful photography, but also by some inspired prose (marred only by occasional translation errors and typos). Those familiar with the elaborate style of, for instance, Claus-Peter Becker in auto, motor und sport will recognize his writing even through the English translation. For those of us who grew up dreaming of Le Mans, and of the curious long-tailed cars which duelled through the night, the chapter on the 917 brings the brute force of it's 12-cylinder engine to life in your hands. Less impressive at first glance, but perhaps equally important to the success of Porsche as a marque is the story of the people behind the cars - engineers and drivers alike. I look forward to a revised edition of the book with a little less emphasis on the rich people who drive Porsches, the splendour of the German text recreated and one or two of the omissions (Speedster, 924 Carrera, 944/968; and drivers such as Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx) included.
fantastic bookas the name implies, this book is fantastic. it traces back the biography of Ferry Porsche close to 1889 and the history of Porsche as well. be aware that this book is a great centerpiece for people to thumb through, but only the true Porshe enthusiast will love it!

Quite nice for a Ferrari fanatic. This book is real cool. All the pictures are amazing! The only problem is, it's not new and it doesn't have formula 1 cars. It only features cars from the beginning till the F50. It's real cool though.
For the price of some magazines this hardback book ain't badThis book contains a brief insight into each of the Ferrari road cars produced between 1948 (166)- 1995 (F50). Each car is limited to two pages of history, photographs, and technical data.
The photograph quality is very good but not all that big in size. Technical info is minimal.
If you already own a few good Ferrari books, then I doubt this book has anything to offer you that you don't already know. Otherwise, considering price and photograph quality it is still appealing.
If you are just becoming interested in Ferrari road cars and want some basic info with pictures and not willing to spend alot of money, then this book is nice place to start.
Excellent ValueFerrari; The Legend is concerned only with Ferrari's road cars beginning with the 166 Inter and concluding with the F50. Each model receives two pages of beautiful photos and interesting commentary. The meanings of the numbers and letters in the name for each model, dates of production, and interesting facts are all included in the commentary. However, the photos alone (such as the two-page photo of the 512TR s/n 94516) are well worth the price of the book! Specifications, acceleration data and production figures are also given. Excellent value!

Terrific Mustang History BookThis book gives you a terific history lesson about the Mustang and all its variants. From 1964 1/2 to 1994 all Mustang's are covered with information on their production, engines, interiors and so forth. It also has terrific color pictures of the cars and pictures of the engines and other parts of the car(s). BUT, this is not a book for any specific type of Mustang(if that is what you want to learn about). This is only to give people a general overview of all Mustangs up to 1995. If you want to learn about Mustangs, I highly recommend this book.
A great book for the Mustang lover! If you are into Ford Mustangs you will love this book. Lots of great looking pictures and dialog about the original pony car. See what made the Mustang the success it was and continues to be.

How to customise your harley not with this bookBoring, Data out dated and he doesn't do anything not covered in a cheap how to do body work manual.
Frankly if you want to do body work your better off buying a 5 dollar book from the used bookstore.
Really disapointing

Custom HarleysIn all, this is a good book for anyone looking to customize a Harley. Numerous pictures and tips make the customizing process just a little bit easier as you see the finished product before you spend the big dollars on parts. This book is certainly worth the price for anyone not happy with just a "stock" bike.
Not Bad for a basic how-to manual! It wasn't boring to me! I've been around Harleys and other brands of cycles for over 25 years. Great book for the biker that wants basic info for custom work. It's a good book for young and old riders alike who dream about their "HOG". Good book for detailes and backyard Custom builders!

Lacks information on Mack trucks of the 1950 's eraI bought the book looking for information on the LTL and W 71 model Macks. There was very little info on the LTL and none on the W71. There was very little info on the H model. The book might be good for someone wanting some general knowledge on a wide variety of trucks.
Good coverage and one of the best sources availableAlbert Mroz does an excellent job in describing in both words and in black & white pictures the more than 1200 different American trucks and Commercial vehicles. This is a very useful research tool for the automotive historian. Details behind the manufacturer's products as well as the history behind the companies is very thorough. I would welcome a revised edition with added marques and additional historical information as well as a listing of production figures. This book should be in every auto historian and truck researcher's library.
Very comprehensive and through. While there are many factual errors in this book the author has dug out an incredible amount of information on some very obscure trucks. It is the best of the three commercial vehicle encyclopedias.

Sound advice for a Jag restorationThis is in my opinion a must have for any vintage Jag owner who considers rebuilding an XK engine in his own garage/shop instead of giving it away to a specialist. The book will most likely prevent you from making some unneccessary mistakes. However, I recommend this book as an addition to the original Jaguar shop manual and not as a replacement.
The section on the IRS is nice to have and was probably only added because the engine story didn't fill a whole book.
Books like this will give you way more bang for the buck than most of the coffee table books when it comes to restoring your old rust bucket.

Excellent reference on the XK engine, IRS and SU carbs.<BR>Excellent book on rebuilding the classic Jaguar XK engine in it's various permutations. Some history on the development as well. A real inside look at all of the internals of this engine. As a bonus, there is also a quick teardown and rebuild of much of the independent rear suspension unit. Covers everything except the actual rebuild of the differential. Also a bonus section on the SU carburettor. This book is required reading if you plan to do any of your own engine work. The photos are first rate, many in color. This is a collection of articles that previously appeared in Jaguar Quarterly (now Jaguar World) Magazine
