Too Many Cooks-A Passover Parable

Clymers Impressive '84-'93 Ninja Service/ Repair ManualThis is at first glance an impressive book, measuring almost two inches thick. Upon delving into the myriad of information in the many chapters, the true worth of this publication was quickly revealed. This is 603 pages of highly detailed and instructive material. There are literally hundreds of photographs and detail drawings, giving even a first time mechanic a chance to see exactly how each part of the machine works, is disasembled, repaired and then reassembled. Step-by-step instructions are clearly listed, in a easy to read and interesting fashion. Numerous hints and how to tips make most of the jobs easier and further enhance the value of this publication.
Another nice feature are the areas that warn the reader about possibly dangerous repair procedures and how to avoid potential injury to mechanic or motorcycle. The book also lists any problems previous models have had and what the owner can do about them. For instance, upon first reading the book there was a warning in a side bar in the chapter on valves and valve adjustments. It informed the reader that certain ZX-900 Ninja owners could have bikes that had a factory recall. Specifically, certain bikes had valve spring retainers that could fail at high engine speeds, causing what the book termed 'catastrophic engine failure.' The book listed the serial numbers on the motor of the bikes that were affected. Unfortunately, mine was included and I'll have to pay for new retainers when the valves are adjusted. But, it's a small price to pay for something I had not known about that could of caused a loss of my life or someone elses. It was another perfect example of just how valuable this book is to those that buy, read and use it.
Overall, I don't see much that can be improved upon in this book. The text is easy to read, the pictures and diagrams are perfectly executed and the tips, how-to hints and reader warnings offer a wealth of assistance. There is a complex index and even a section in the back of the book with blank pages headed 'notes' at the top of each page. For those owners that want to perform their own service, repair and maintenance on their older Ninjas, this book is as important as any other accessory you could buy and was worth every penny. It earns five stars from me.

Five stars for a five stars writing crewAs the editor of MacHome Journal's free eZine, HotTips Weekly, I probably read more books about the Mac than most users.
It is a great credit to this work that it has become the ONE book stitting on my desk, ready for action. I consult it not only for what I do not know, but also to validate what I think I know.
It is clear, concise and well organized. When time comes to explain complex issues or find an elegant solution, it becomes the best friend you could ever have!

Review of Functionally Graded MaterialsEven though functionally graded materials have been utilized by people for hundreds of years, it is only lately that it has been realized that material advances may be made by bringing together the many materials disciplines that work on functionally graded materials. This book accomplishes such a unification.

Read the book - and I guarantee you will get ideas on how to create these relationships with your customers.
Best Business Book of the YearThis book puts together pieces of information that we know as customers and individuals who network with many others. This book helped me realize how much I have turned to others for information for all the important decisions I have been making whether it is for a purchase, a job, a healthcare decision or a place to eat. This book is a serious compilation of research that deserves reading by everyone interested in how humans have reacted to the information age, not just marketers. Some of the book is overstated, but it is easier to digest than all the other dozen or so books in this field I have read.
Rich Levin has been involved in the personal computer industry since 1979. he is a software developer, consultant and journalist. he is an internationally respected technology journalist and has written for CBS Radio, Windows Magazine, Business Week and PC world. He runs his own company called Levin Communications and hosts a weekly talk radio show.
The information is divided into four sections. Part one gives you the confidence to design your PC, sign onto the Internet and purchase your computer. Part Two shows you how to take charge of Windows, work with e-mail and sample the Windows Software Library. Part three explains the wonderful world of word processing. The last section describes methods for keeping your secrets safe.
The Computing Golden Rule is: Back-up. That means, save your information. I love that they say...."You're Smart. Your Computer is Stupid." With continually evolving technology you can't just memorize a few steps. This book will help you develop your deductive reasoning skills and coping mechanisms that guide the most experienced computer users.
If you enjoy a book filled with colorful boxes filled with information, funny characters which give you special signs to catch your attention or the inside scoop on secrets no one else is telling you...this is your book!
I thought the advice on page 59 should be taken very seriously, especially if you are building a Web site. I quote: "Choose your ISP (Internet Service Provider) partner with care-divorce can be messy and painful." Rich also discusses how you can safely buy items on the Web. There is also a list of Key actions, and I must say...when I learned about Ctrl+Alt+Delete...it saved me from having to reboot my computer when it freezes. On my computer, it gives me an option to shut down the item causing the problem and then I can go on working or open the program again. Word's Main Keystrokes are also explained in detail.
A simple glossary and easy-to-use index is included. What is a blocked sender list? What does "download" mean? What is Random Access Memory?
I can highly recommend this book for new and experienced users. Even after years of using Windows, I still have a lot to learn. I am so pleased I have this KISS book which is now going to take up a permanent place of honor on my desk! I think I will also buy one for my mother since I believe this book will save her hours of trying to figure out her new computer. Why don't they sell this book with every PC? They should!
