Excellent Text on Vi
This is the best Vi editor book. Having said that, I can no longer remcommend using vi, instead if you can switch to vim. Vim is the next generation of vi...There are loads of plugins etc. There is a Vim text, (not as good as this one but it has to cover more stuff) But if you can't get vim, and dread learning emacs. This is the vi book for you. It covers regular expressions as understood by vi, it has all the basic set commands, the buffer control etc. It was originally written for internal classes at HP, but since there wasn't any other good vi books they have allowed general publication. Thanks HP!

An essential book for beginners and seasoned vi users.
One of the few books on Vi that actually has good, simple, usable examples. It covers many of the lesser-known features, as well as the more popular and necessary commands. The book takes you quickly through the steps necessary to achieve the results you want. Definitely a must-have book for anyone, whether you are a beginner, or seasoned, experienced vi user.

No excuses to stop you following your dream
An easy read-not too daunting-compact in size and condensed information which doesn't allow the reader any excuse for procrastination. Encourages everyone to follow their dream and take 'Action' as the title suggests. Loved the quote from Mother Theresa...."Don't wait for leaders. Do it alone-person to person"

Do not let your pets pull the wool over your eyes
The wording of this book seems a little dated today. However the surprises are still there. The studies of animal I.Q. covered by Vance Packard will help dispel many notions of who is smart and who is dumb based of stereotyping and anthropomorphism.
My favorite case is the one of the cat that at precisely 7:45 on Monday nights would go down to on a sojourn that took it past a read light and he would wait for it to turn green then proceed to a particular window and watch ladies playing BINGO. I would receive no food or petting; so why how did he know it was Monday and why watch BIBGO?
Contents include:

Psychologists vs., "Dumb" Animals

Great book to teach children about following rules!
Barbie and several of her friends and fellow campers our going on a scavanger hunt. Barbie tells all the girls to stay with their partner at all times; to never go off by themselves. What will happen if one of them breaks the rules? This book is an excellent way to teach your preschooler about the importance of listening to what leaders say and doing as they are told. My 3 1/2 year old daughter picked up on this immediatly and a discussion followed the book about why rules are important. Very highly recommend!

Bubble Trouble (My First Hello Reader With Flash Cards!)
This is a perfect book for K. It is a book about how bubbles grow and then how they die (pop). Great fantasy book with color illustrations and would be recommended to a Kindergarten level. Review was written by a 5th grader.

Comet Crash
I would not like it if a comet crashed into the Pacific Ocean or anywhere else, I would be freaked out. This is probably the only book I've read that has this kind of danger. I would like to fire a missle to change it's course.

Gotta love this series!
Dear Readers, You have to love this series-Choose Your Own Adventure-Edward Packard was a genius for coming up with this series! The Bantam Books (not Skylark) are the best. Check out Space Hawks (1-6), The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1-8), and the regular titles in this great series (1-184 I think); I have about 110 already! Too bad they are hard-to-find now! E-mail to profprimbud@hotmail.com thanx!

The Complete Word on Older HP Calculators
This book is the definitive guide for those collecting or just interested in older HP calculators. Wlodek is considered the "grand-master" of the history of HP handheld calcs (though he's modest enough to deny that) and he has written a great reference on models from the first -- the HP-35 to models current to about 2002. He even talks about the HP-01 calculator watch. Wlodek includes complete descriptions, function details, variations, color & black & white photos, and even background history of all the models. Over 140 pages with tightly written information, charts, and photos. Great book!
