If you are a big fan of the king Richard Petty read this book. It tells a great story

This book is one of the few attempts to write seriously about stock car racing before NASCAR became a big TV draw. First class results.

He writes a well formated tale, belivably told and very interesting. This is the type of story that you fall into head first and come out feeling that the covers are too close together.

This book is a great reference for Ferrari racing history. It covers all of the great side stories that only the insiders knew about while they were going on. My personal favorite part was the section on Senna and his promise to join the team that was never upheld because his life was cut short. The only thing missing is the actual race results. If you need a book for that, I highly recommend The Complete Encyclopedia of Formula One. This book has everything you need to know about every team that ever existed, every circuit ever raced on, every points scoring driver, and the results of every race from the beginning of the championship to the end of 1999.

Is it more important to win a medal in sports competition or in life situations? I enjoyed learning about the different field day activities, but more than that I enjoyed find out why medals should really be given. This book is one that NEEDS to be shared with children. I wish I had had this for both myself and for my children.

Ken Bresalauer has been covering NASCAR and its memorabilia for more than 25 years, and in this book he gives readers the best of his experience. Furthermore, the photos are great - large, sharp and pertinent to the collectibles discussed. Buy this and Simon Moore's new book and you will have the best works written on Alfa Romeo since Griffith Borgesson's "Alfa Romeo Tradition" many years ago. Authoritatively written and including many photos previously never published,it is a highly entertaining read.

This is an amazing account of how NASCAR began and grew into the huge sport it is today. It is written in a very entertaining and informative way and the author has uncovered many details that are presented as sidebars. There are several in-depth interviews and wonderful photos from the days when they first raced on the beach at Daytona up to the modern era. Anyone interested in NASCAR racing should own this book.
