Garrett, a 5th grader at Boise-Eliot says:
This is a great book with Native American stories from all over America. It has many stories and about four sections with about five stories in each section. I have some Native American blood and this book has stories from my ancestors. You should really read this book.

The Indispensible Guide to Formula Super Vee
Despite its rather unique niche, this book proves to be an indispensible guide to Formula Super Vee racing. Schupack, still relativly active on motorsports scene today, has captured a snapshot in time.

The book, which is difficult if not impossible to find, is highly prized among racing afficianados.

The Ultimate Review Of Winston Cup
Greg Fielden set out in 1988 to chronicle the history of the Winston Cup Series. The result was the four-volume epic Forty Years of Stock Car Racing. Every individual race in the history of what began as the Grand National Series is reviewed in these four volumes, with informative race reports on the highlights of each event and full field rundowns.

The season reports are bracketed by overviews previewing each season, giving a big picture to the happenings within a season. These overviews help provide greater depth to understanding individual races.

When Volume Four was finished, it soon became clear that fans would want follow up accounts of subsequent seasons. Thus has come Forty Plus Four, a review of the 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 NASCAR seasons.

If there is a theme to this book, it is the zenith of Dale Earnhardt's career and the rise of Ernie Irvan. Davey Allison and Alan Kulwicki play major roles as well, most notably in 1992, but their deaths in 1993 robbed the sport of two great stars and helped Earnhardt and Irvan become near-unstoppable superstars.

There is superb photography throughout all five of Fielden's Forty Years epic. Among the best photos are of flags at half-staff at Pocono following Davey Allison's death, and of Neil Bonnett's subsequent tumble into the Talladega fencing.

Given the sheer volume of the task at hand, it stands to reason that Fielden would make some slips - he gets some race details wrong, notably when he says, in the 1992 AC Delco 500 at Pocono, that Allison tried to crowd off Darrell Waltrip off the Tunnel Turn, thus causing Davey's terrifying tumble toward Turn Three. He also has insufficient photos of such events as the 1993 Daytona 500 - his race recap is also absurdly bland and dull, doubly so considering that 500 was among the wildest and most exciting ever - and of the crash-torn 1993 Splitfire 500 at Dover Downs.

Nonetheless, this series is vital to any racefan's understanding of the sport.

most detailed book of Nascar ever compiled
I particularly enjoyed reading accounts of races I have attended and refreshing my memory. Also helps settle arguments with my friends over winners etc. I have the whole series up to 1993 and hope that he will produce a new book bringing it up to date.

Excellent, comprehensive coverage of topics
This is one of the best books on general sailing that I have ever read. It comes in second only to 'Sailing For Dummies' and that is just by a very slim margin. I have both books in my sailing library and between them, I have more than enough reference material to cover almost any sailing situation. This book should satisfy both beginning and experienced sailors alike. Good job...

Goodwood - A Dedication to Auto Racing
The Glory of Goodwood is a fabulous and essential book for any enthusiast of historic auto racing. This book, with its beautiful photographs, puts us in the paddock and onto the track with some of the greatest drivers and cars in the history of the sport. The book celebrates the beauty and art of auto racing, as well as its thrills and dangers. The images are rich and plentiful, but this is not simply a picture book. The essay (forwarded by Sterling Moss and The Earl of March) details 50 years of British auto racing at the Goodwood track and one man's fascination that evolved into a yearly cultural tradition dedicated to speed, the drivers, and their cars.

Go-Go-Go
What a delightful, exciting book! We got it for our six-year-old grandson who got into the spirit of competition of this story like nothing we've seen to date! His bike is his most prized possession and following the ups and downs of this amazing adventure just thrilled him! We watched the men's triathlon at the olympics together and he shouted Go-Go-Go all through it and he vowed he would be in a bike race one day, just like Maurice. The fabulous illustrations abound on every single page and David Goldin, the illustrator, has a special eye for touching humor. Even when we're not reading the book with our grandson we see him looking through it on his own, discovering more hilarious hidden gems. This book leaves you feeling uplifted and full of optimism, knowing anything is possible when you put your mind to it, even if the odds are stacked against you. Go-Go-Go leaves kids wanting to go-go-go for the gold!

Go: The Bettenhausen Story: The Race Against a Dream
The Bettenhausens have to be the most hard-luck racing family in the history of auto racing and the Indianpolis 500. Father Tony was killed at the Indianapolis 500. Merle lost part of an arm in a crash at Michigan and Tony (Jr.) was killed in an airplane crash (along with his wife Shirley and 2 other people). This book is in my auto racing memorabilia collection and it should be in yours as well.

Great history/photo book
This massive size hardbound book is one of the few vintage books on the history of Grand National Stock Car Racing. The photos in the book are spectacular. The book measures 12 1/2 inches tall and 9 1/4 inches wide. It is now out of print in any form and has become quite a sought after piece of stock car racing memorabilia.
