horsefeathers' mystery
In Horsefeathers' Mystery Scoop is boarding three race horses Jackson, Storm, and Melly. Scoop falls in love with Melly. Someone is trying to hurt the horses, one night Scoop finds one horse bleeding. Scoop finds her brother BC playing with a burnt stick and thinks he has been playing with matches. The end is very sad and I was surprised when I found out who was trying to hurt the horses.

A Hot Rod Thrill Ride...
Wow, did this book take me back. If you consider yourself a hot rod guru, how can you not have this book on your shelf. Ed Almquist (to whom the industry owes a great debt of gratitude) gives a first-hand account of the men and events that shaped hot rod history. Big Daddy Don Garlits writes a great Intro. And I noticed it was published by the Society of Automotive Engineers -- who better to publish a hot rod book?

It only took me about a week or two to get (even though it said something like four weeks). Hundreds of photos of the most memorable rods in American history. You should really see for yourself and let me know what you think.

A Great Book for Beginning Auto Restorers
This book doesn't go into great detail about specific marques or engines, and isn't heavy into technical drawings or comparisons, and won't tell you how to win at Palm Beach, but if you're weighing the pros and cons of buying and restoring a British sports car and want to know what you're in for, this is the book for you. The author walks the neophyte all the way from choosing the right car to maintaining his or her finished beauty, and doesn't pull many punches. It was the first book I bought after I got my '67 MGB GT, and I still refer to it, if only for the pleasant writing style and as food for the daydreams I still have about finding that '63 E-type.

Excellent
Being the motorsports fan that I am I needed no encouragement or instruction to watch motor racing, but the British Formula 1 champ brings the sport to life in this tremendous guide. The tips were spot on and I particularly liked his advice on what profanities to yell at the tv in the chapter "Who cares if he can't hear you?" As the author says, it's all about fun at the end of the day, so follow his advice and "Get a keg in, take a few beers on board and settle in and wait for some tosser to crash."

"The money was well spent."
The book I bought from you was a steal as far as I'm concerned. I had no real problem understanding it.Sometimes I'd get a little lost with details, but would just read it over. I truly enjoyed it and feel the money was well spent.

Excellence Exemplified
For those who have recently become interested in Porsche cars & their history, this book should be read to understand how their products & fame evolved over the years. In the early days, Huschke von Hanstein literally "put them on the map" with his press releases & dedicated innovative efforts to gain deserved attention for a fledgling Porsche KG.

For the many automotive enthusiasts who are knowledgeable in any degree about the history of Porsche, this book is an absolute "must-have". In contrast to some others, this book is packed with incredible photos, never published before to my knowledge. The photo of Damon Hill with "others" is wonderful ! The copy is a joy to read, detailed, accurate, & factual. It is full of trivia tid-bits, which will delight all readers. The English translation deserves special commendation.

There is no hype or fluff in this book. The comments & reminiscences are by the very best. The Huschke & Ursula charm, courtesy, & attention is shared by all who knew them.

Incidentally, this book is a bargain at twice the price.

An adventure yarn filled with terror and laughter
If there's even an ounce of salt water in your blood, Jourdanes inside look at the grueling Whitbread Round the World Race will make your heart beat faster and your spine tingle. I started reading the book one evening, and found that I couldn't put it down until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning. Chris Caswell Senior Editor, Yachting Magazine

Iditarod Curriculum - The Last Great Race to Nome
As a second grade teacher, I have been teaching my classes about the Iditarod Race for many years. Until recently, it has been difficult to find support for this wonderful unit of study. Shelley Gill has done a fabulous job of showing how this exciting race is the best example of integrated curriculum to be found. She covers ideas for all disciplines of study from mapping skills to science projects. She has captured the heart of the race and understands why teachers choose to teach the Iditarod. Her book will fill your classroom with wonderful hands-on ideas that are great fun to use and enrich the children's understanding of this exciting race.
