Another "must buy" for the Indy Racing League fan !
The 1998 Indy Review is a nice follow-up to the 1997 version. This book contains photos, highlights and statistics to every race in the 1998 IRL season. I felt the statistics sections were not as complete as the 1997 version, but it was not enough to take away a star. Another great book for Indy fans !

Another great book in the Rolling Thunder series!!
This book is another fine one in the Rolling Thunder series. It follows young "Rocket" Rob Wilder as he makes his first Winston Cup start after success in the Busch Grand National series, and also his first attempt to start the Daytona 500.

Rob Wilder is a young man who lives to race. "You ready, kid?" Rob smiled, "I was ready when I crawled out of the rack this morning."

I enjoyed this book every bit as much as the others. I see a bit of Jeff Gordon's influence on Rob's character in the book, as Rob is a clean-cut, clean-living young man who has a beautiful girlfriend, Christy. Christy's older sister, Michelle, is the marketing rep for Rob's sponsor, Ensoft, a software house. But... could Michelle also have taken a liking to the brash young driver, more than a professional interest?

Get the book and find out.....

A simply must-read!
This is without doubt the most gripping, insightful and authoritative read about drivers in Formula One. Written around a series of intimate, unguarded and in-depth interviews with drivers it affords the reader a real insight into the experience of driving the world's most beautiful race cars. The chapter about accidents contains some of the most descriptive, articulate work, but one needs to read the rest of the book to get the most from it. Not since Jackie Stewart first began to articulate the reality of a driver's life has this subject been tackled in such depth or with such effect. Having followed Formula One passionately for many years this book took me to a new depth of understanding.

SUNDAY HOUSEWIFE
For those like me that spend every sunday beside your man watching the race this is the book that should be on the coffee table. I found so much information and facts in this book. I didn't have to ask so many questions as to why they do this or why they do that. This is a very fact filled, informative book on many legends of Nascar. A really great buy that will have all Nascar fans wanting more.

International Motor Racing Guide: A Complete Reference from Formula One to Nascar

Absolutely priceless
It seems that Mr. Higham has spent years searching through dusty basements and smelly photo archives to assemble all of this information. If you're interesed in finding out who won what when, this is the book for you. A bit mind-numbing really, as there is so much information gathered here that it is overwhelming.

For the serious anorak, there is nothing like this volume!

Highly recommended.

I want to be Nick Mason!
Once you've read this book, while listening to the included soundtrack, you'll say the same thing "I WANT TO BE NICK MASON"!!! He owns and drives the cars in the book. I'll never be able to do that, but thanks to Nick, he's providing the next best thing with this book. If you enjoy Vintage Race Cars, BUY THIS BOOK! Put the disc in the stereo, crank it up, read along and be taken for a ride!!!

I love this book!!
This book really has it all. It gives you details about AJ Foyt's life and puts them into an emotioanl context that allows you to visit his world. On the other extreme it gives you a window into the world of this brave man who could not go fast enough. You get the feeling that you are really learning about the man himself. The relationship with his father is a beautiful one and if you are not careful can bring a tear to your eye. AJ Foyt certainly has 'the right stuff.'

Janet Guthrie: First Woman at Indy

Author: Ross Robert Olney
Amazon base price: $6.59
Used price: $2.69

The best of its kind
Although some five books about me, all for younger readers, were written back when I was having my fifteen minutes' worth, this is the best. It is accurate, well-written and comprehensive. I also gave Mr. Olney the use of some family photos not found elsewhere. My own autobiography, on offer by Sterling Lord of Sterling Lord Literistic in NY, awaits a publisher; but in the meantime, try this.
