The Last Lap
The book I read was The Last Lap by William Campbell Gault. The genre weas fiction. I thought it was a great book. It had lots of action and kept me on the edge of my seat at all times. I can't wait to read more of his books. The book is about a kid that is about twenty-three years old. He starts racing cars at fairgrounds but he gets in a crash on the last lap and is knocked unconscious for twenty-three hours. Later when he wakes up he starts recing nascar (National Association of Stock Car Racing).he and his Uncle Luke love racing cars. His Uncle Luke races the first half of the race and then he races the other half. Icant tell you the end because if i did then you wouldn't want to read it. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes books with cars in it.

Laverda (Osprey Collectors Library)
Published in Hardcover by Osprey Pub Co (October, 1991)
Authors: Raymond Ainscoe and Tim Parker
Amazon base price: $39.95

The only comprehensive book on Laverda motorcycles!
Excellent book, with good photos by Tim Parker. It covers Laverdas short history completely, with a lot of detail about the early years. This etail is not avaialbe in any other book or magazine article. Because the book is (now) 6 years old is doesn't have any information on the new twins, but maybe Tim or Raymond might produce a second edition??!

Few comments on the Official Automobile Club D'Ouest book
This book is very good for the Photos and statistics of the races (1949-1973). For every year you can find (in 3 pages each) a brief comment on the race, partecipants, statistics, key facts, photos. The scoreboard of every year contains the position of each car hour by hour, final standings, retirements, accidents. You also have a history of the circuit, pilot comments and car manufacturer successes. It is sad I can't find the same book for the years 1974-1999 ! (anyone that can help me in finding it ?)

Informative and fun!
This book had me glued. I own a foundation bred stallion and did not know his dam's bloodlines. With each Legends book I read, I learn more of why my stud is the way he is! I have also learned how important research is in breeding quality animals and how they did it then and how it has effected now! An excellent series of books for anyone interested in their horses ancestry.

Window to Yesteryear
Through printing exact reproductions - many handwritten - of the fan mail to the Howard family and Seabiscuit in 1939-40, a unique glimpse into the lives and attitudes of America is shown. The content of the letters, notes, and poems is fascinating, and made moreso by being able to view it in the original format - including the stationery, stamps and envelopes.

It's a very enjoyable read. I loved it! Thanks, Ms. Howard, for sharing your family's collection with us.

Excellent insight from a mechanic who was there
Steve Matchett, now appearing on Speedvision's F1 TV coverage, was a mechanic for the Benetton F1 team during Michael Schumacher's rein. Steve can explain the most intricate technologies in an easy to read style. The book covers the exciting and not so exciting aspects of being a front-line mechanic for a top F1 team.

Little Vic
The book "Little Vic" was my lifetime favorite book, which is why I am trying to locate a copy of it. I was sorry to see it was out of print. I was a horse crazy girl in fourth grade (reading anything and everything horse related I could get my hands on) when I checked "Little Vic" out from my school library. This was the one book I fell in love with, and I guess I've never forgotten it. It has been many, many years since I read this book, so I don't remember alot of the details, but here's the general idea: The main character was a young jockey named Pony Rivers (who happened to be black and was not always welcome at the racetrack). The story follows an underdog horse named Little Vic and Pony Rivers - they meet and form a special bond. Just as things seem to be looking up for both Little Vic and Pony, they are separated and encounter some unpleasant experiences. Eventually they find each other again and......you'll have to find a copy and read it for yourself!

How 9 men attempted the longest singlehanded adventure.
This is the story of 9 men attempting the greatest adventure around the earth: solo circumnavigation non-stop. You will find excerpts from Moitessier`s Longue Route, Crowhurst`s last voyage...

It is a chronographical description of nine races, as each sailor was on a world of his own. Each boat has it`s own noises, it`s own history and all nine are well blended together.

An excellent book about the pionneers of solo sailing
