Race Your Way to Fitness is the most helpful and motivational resource I have ever seen for beginners like me. Jessica Nichols draws on her many personal experiences to share practical tips and honest advice on all aspects of starting and maintaining a walking/running/racing fitness program. She realistically explains the basic details of what to expect physically and emotionally, and therefore I was able to easily identify with her. This easy-to-read educational guide is dedicated to sharing the secrets of successful fitness and good health. It also offers valuable websites and other informative sources to refer to. This book is extremely motivational! Today, after 10 years of being a working mother with plenty of excuses for not exercising, I started my own personal walking/running program. My goal: better fitness and health, and yes perhaps my first race. I consider myself fortunate to have "Race Your Way to Fitness" as my personal trainer. I highly recommend it!

For those who would like to delve into the materials used for automobile manufacturing and especially racers and performance cars, this book is the top notch one. You don't only have the chance to know about the most exotic materials and their automotive use, but also you have the chance to know about materials themselves. The book is well structured, presenting you first all the notions required to know in order to undertstand what will follow and then it gives you all the metals, fibers and other materials used in automobile (and not only) manufacturing. It really is a complete insight making every one of its readers an almost expert. I enjoyed it a lot (being an amateur and self tought designer). My only suggestion to author and publisher: why not present a new, updated edition ?

Racing a Ghost Ship is an excellent book for children ages 9-16. Adults will also enjoy this inspiring story of a man with severe asthma who planned a sailing adventure that would demonstrate to children and adults that challenges should not stand in the way of dreams. This story is well written and illustrated with large full page color photos. A great book for families and classrooms.

This book details the ins and outs of becomming a weekend racer. An excelent reference & read. If you are interested in racing, and planning on starting, or interested in seeing what it takes to get into motorsports this is for you.

Great new 224 page book featuring nearly 700 full color, sharp, photos of every type of racing collectible. Enthusiasts will really appreciate the great variety of items covered, ranging from autographs, bean bag racers, cards and cereal boxes to magazines, medallions, model kits, and statues, steins, tickets and uniforms. There's plenty of text provided and thousands of item listings. If you collect car racing items, this is a must for your library.

This book explains how to hoist, tack, gybe, and dowse sails, and interprets the muttering and cursing emanating from the back of the boat. It doesn't dwell on sailing theory, navigation, tactics, rights of way, or any of that other confusing stuff. This book is the most single useful aid I have seen for enjoying sailboat racing. I encourage everyone who has ever been confused by contradictory instructions, advice, or exhortations to rush across to Amazon for a copy. I might even get a couple extra for on-board reading.

We were given a copy of the first printing of this book many years ago. As a visual and written essay about the inhabitants of the track, it is unmatched. Moments of joy are celebrated. Moments of defeat and pain are investigated. It captures the magic of the racetrack experience.

Book covers many chassis numbers for documentation. Good photographs and historical measurements. Author is not only a great writer, but a very nice guy. Met him at Brian Redman Internation Challenge 2000. Very friendly and helpful.

We understand that the correct title of this book will be "Racing Research, Researching Race."
