If you've ever wondered what it's really like to be a cop, "Music City Blues" provides the answer. From domestic disputes, DUI's, high-speed police pursuits and prostitution stings, the reader is introduced to a side of law enforcement not often seen by the public. Police can be both gruesome and glorious, and it's these moments of soul-wrenching tragedies and fist-pumping triumphs that bring the book to life.

I found this to be a very revealing insight into the life of police officers. Not being involved in law enforcement myself, I found it exciting and interesting to be "on the inside". The author has combined humor and tragedy to create an easy reading, informational story you are sure to enjoy.

I don't have children, but I found this in a children's asile in my local bookstore and I had to buy it! This is the book I have on my backyard picnic table right now and I read thru it daily and love it! It's NUMBER 1 on my list of books to read right now with summer here. The photos are wonderful; the small editorials are written so that anyone can understand them, and as an adult I don't see the "child -like" reading here, but rather a book that everyone can enjoy and learn from and all of Time Life Books are finely manufactured. For a book I'd rate them as "Excellent Quality" and suggest this along with the other's from this series would make a wonderful gift for children and adults alike. You'll learn alot about gardening, how to attract butterflies or hummingbirds to your backyard; wild flowering, A-Z, way too much to mention.

This book is beautifully designed and well organized. Full color photography enhances each page. It includes basic information on gardening with native plants, planning a garden, attracting birds, butterflies, and other wildlife to your yard. Photographs and desriptions of plants and trees, organized by geographic location, are accompanied by maps, field notes, tips, and drawings of animals prefered by each. Lots of references are included in the back. It may be geared more towards the layperson than the expert, but this book really opened my eyes to the possibilities of gardening. Gardening is not just picking pretty flowers anymore! Natural Gardening a joy to browse through and to read.

Very well written and illustrated. Bought a copy for my niece to have. Would like to see more books by Rose Marie.

I thoroughly enjoyed the format. Fun to read to little ones and informative tool to teach all the details of the interesting life of the bluebird. I had no idea about their social nature. The illustrations are delightful.

Really a great book. Mr Rose ability of writing in plain english without sacrifying the purity of legal language is unique. NetLaw is not an "how-to" book, but give reader a precise legal framework (that never become obsolete) of net-behavior main problems, useful both for professional and private people. We're waiting for the next edition, come on, Lance||

Although it's a few years old, NetLaw still does a great job outlining the various legal issues that affect Internet users and service providers.

Although most people will use this book as a reference, I really enjoyed reading it from cover to cover. Having done so, it makes a great reference.

This book tells the story of Pfaffenberger's search to develop test for puppies to determine which would ultimately become good guide dogs. There are pearls of wisdom throughout this book. I have not seen info on issues he brings up before. Understand this is a story of what he went through but he discusses the science of dog behavior at that time and where his work went wrong and where it went right. Did you know it is best that hunting breeds be allowed to hunt even if they will do work where , if they hunt, it would be a detriment to the work. Allowing the hunting dogs to hunt for a season increased their success rate in these breeds. One might think this was counter-intuitive, but Pfaffenberger provides info to the contrary. I recommend this book for people who want even more detailed info on puppy tests and producing great working dogs.

This is an excellent foundation book for anyone interested in dog behavior and/or training. This book explains how dog training/testing/methods came about as a result of the war dog effort, and how criteria was established for selecting dogs, inheritability factors, etc. It truly is a must for any serious dog trainer.

How Mr Jimmy Carter got involved in this noble humanitarian ministry is really an inspiring episode for anyone who believes that the hands that help are holier than the lips that pray!

The book is broken down into two parts. Part One is people and places. From A to Z you find out a small snippet of information about everyone associated with JFK or the assassination.

Part 2 has 18 sections of reference information. From books to singed articles to unsigned articles you won't be able to find a more complete listing than right here. The amount of information is amazing.

This book is not a novel or a research project, rather it is a handy reference book that everyone, from novice to expert researcher should have with them at all times.

If you are an old fan of Gil Scott-Heron, then you will really enjoy this book. It is a wonderful collection of his work.

I first encountered Mr. Whitmire's work nearly ten years ago when I read on of his articles on 3-D function points. From that time on I have followed his writing.

This book shows Mr. Whitmire at his finest: someone who thoroughly knows his subject and is willing to dig deeply into difficult topics and concepts. In this book he applies his keen intellect to classifying and explaining the body of knowledge devoted to object-oriented design measurement.

He starts by putting measurement into the context of software engineering. This is done with a thoroughness lays the foundation for the rest of the book. The section on the design process is excellent. If you are a highly technical project manager or involved in the estimation process you will find this section invaluable. The section on selecting measures finishes the first part of the book and arms you with enough information begin using O-O design measurement.

Part II of the book is not for the faint of heart, but is necessary reading if you truly want to understand object oriented design measurement (and the rest of the book). It is devoted to the technical foundations of design measurement, and gets into some interesting territory (well, I found it interesting - your mileage will vary). It starts with set theory and drills down into all of the related math. Be prepared to engage in deep thinking here. Your efforts will prepare you for the next section, which covers measurement theory in the same detail. If you make it through the math you will have passed a significant milestone and will be well on your way to understanding object oriented measurement. You will also find the section on the theory of objects to be easier reading, and you will also see objects in a completely different way. It is here (after plowing through the previous sections of the book) that I saw how I could apply this book to topics that on the surface had little to do with the author's original scope. For example, I saw immediate application of the principles in security; specifically, role based access controls and directory. This was reinforced in Section III, which covers design characteristics, complexity, coupling and completeness, and other essential characteristics.

Who will find this book useful? Architects and project estimators working on object-oriented projects are the primary audience. If you are in an organization that wants to achieve CMM level 4 or 5, then the technical foundations of design measurement will prove invaluable. If you are in a CMM level 4 or 5 organization then this book will also be of interest to members of the PMO (program management office) and SEPG (software engineering process group). I also believe that systems security professionals who are developing role based access controls and enterprise directory services designers would greatly benefit from this book.

Reading Mr. Whitmire's book helped me understand the need for utilizing newer technologies, and provided the ways to accomplish them and the measures to determine the effectiveness. It gave me the confidence I need to get off the mark and move on using the technologies he presents and explains so well. A must read for technicians as well as managers in software development.

As an occupational therapy student currently assigned to a physical dysfunction site, I have found this text to be the most valuable. I advise any student taking the NBCOT exam or begining a affilitation in physical dysfunction to purchase this text!!

OT for Physical Dysfunction proved to be indispensible both in school and in practice. This text has practice skills in assessment and treatment organized for use in problem-based and in evidence-based learning courses. Treatment principles are outlined with actual therapy techniques, sample documentation and specific information to treat different diagnoses with photos. Absolutely my most-used text.
