There is a man named named Sterling who lives with raccoons.
Sterling North and his family live in a place that has raccoons, a brook, a woods with big trees, foxes, and whippoorwills. Sterling and his family saw a mother raccoon named Moonlight with a bigger, duller child named Flora, and a smaller, darker, more shy child named Fauna. Moonlight taught her children important lessons like finding earthworms and eating wineberries. The book also has stories from other people who know raccoons.

A Sweet, Pretty Little Book!
This is a short, sturdy little board book with charming photographs of cats & kittens in various stages of slumber... each picture is accompanied by a single word relating to sleep ("quiet", "yawn", "peaceful", etc.) It would be ideal for toddlers between ages 1-2 (the text was technically too babyish for my almost-3-yr.-old, but he loves cats so much, it didn't matter!) The photos alone are worth collecting this book!

This is a charming book of outdoor adventures.
"Eric Sterling: Secret Agent" Smugglers on Grizzly Mountain, by Ernest Herndon, is a charming book for children aged 8-12. It is about three pre-teen special agents for Wildlife Special Investigations (WSI), who are assigned a case involving mushroom smugglers. The three children, Eric C., Erik K., and Erik's sister Sharon, are sent off to Alaska where they meet with Martin Bull who shows them what they are to do. After a brief overview of their case, the three are sent to climb Bear Ridge Mountain armed with camping supplies, a telescope, and bear mace. As soon as they reached the summit, the three detectives spotted the mushroom smugglers and radioed down to Mr. Bull. Mr. Bull told Eric to come back down the mountain first thing the next morning. As soon as Eric woke up, he packed up his supplies and headed down the mountain. After his long hike down the mountain, poor, tired Eric was greeted by an unfamiliar man who told him that there was an emergency and that Mr. Bull had to head home. However, Eric smelled something fishy, he knew something was not right. But I won't tell you what it is, you will have to read this book for yourself to know what the exciting ending is to this great book of outdoor expeditions.

A Great Read
This book is full of unique and puzzling short stories involving the "devils" of many cultures. My personal favorite, a story intitled 'Thus I Refute Beelzy' is one of the best short stories I have ever read. I would recomend this book to anyone and everyone, regardless of religion, for if nothing else the creative stories and inventive plots captured by the many excellent authors whose work is featured.

Sterling Service

Sterling Service is Sterling!!
Dothan Service League along with Wimmer Publishing has provided and excellent cookbook for the "ordinary cook" to present "extraordinary food". I would recommend that this book be a must for every kitchen, from the new bride to the great-grandmother who loves to cook. Many aspects of this cookbook separate it from others community or Jr. League books because it contains the must know "basics" of cooking such as the volume of common baking pans and measures and equivalents. Basing the chapters of the book on actual Sterling silver such as Strausborg(my wife's pattern), Old Master or Chantilly, this book includes beautiful pictures of the silver as well as how to care for it. The chapter Eloquence Extras also includes such simple things (or are they really simple) as making coffe in quantities of up to 100 servings, simple syrup for sweet tea, menu suggestions to include a Silver Anniversary Celebration for 50-75 guests along with favorites such as noodle kugel, tabbouleh, stuffed cabbage and mahmool (difficult to find these in a uniquely southern book). Buffet layouts, table settings, napkin folding and care of linen are also unique. I highly recommend this cookbook for everyone who spends any time in the kitchen.
