Not Too Informative...I feel as though this book could have given more information about JK Rowling. Only about two of the chapters were about her life in general, the rest of the book was basically about the Harry Potter series and the fame the books are reciving. These other chapters really are of no use to people who want to learn about Rowling's life, it's basically about her writing. Maybe someone who hasn't read the Harry Potter books would find the entire book interesting. If you're a devoted fan, just skip it.

The Absolute BoreIf you have read "A woman of substance" do not, on any account read this. You will be totally disappointed.
Don't botherGood first half, disjointed second half, implausible conclusion.
Read it only to kill timeWell, it wasn't HORRIBLE. The ending was horrible, yes, and beginning was realllly hard to get into, but the middle was more than adequate. Not a book of substance by any means, but a book to read if you have time to kill and, well, need a book to read. But the ending is just awful. I hate books with bad endings. I mean, the whole mystery is solved in like 10 pages!!! I wanted her to develop it a little more, God, tell us what happens to Carly, how she reacts to the news that Denise's dead, develop the thing with Chris and Katie some more, how her run on Broadway goes and something I didnt realize until I read reviews on here -- you guys are right -- she completely forgets about all the English characters!! I wanted to know about them too. The LEAST she could do is put an epilogue at the end saying what happened to all the characters. I wouldn't reccomend this, but it wasn't terrible either. I did almost enjoy it in the middle. Really its only fault was a flat ending (and some unrealistic dialogue which you get used to after a while.)

One of the worst Beatle books ever. This book is so full of mistakes (as well as being poorly written and designed) it would be funny if I hadn't had to pay for it. Probably rushed out to take advantage of the Beatles' "new" success because of the "1" CD, this is one you should avoid.
Really BADI ran accross this book at a local book store and bought it for a Christmas gift. Being a first generation Beatles fan, I think I know a fair amount about the Fab Four. I found this book to be full of errors. A photo of Paul McCartney with Jane Asher is identified as Paul and Linda. Another picture is labeled as being of John and Yoko. Even a non-fan would be able to see that the people in the photograph are clearly NOT John and Yoko.
DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!

AwfulI'm terribly sorry for Dwayne McKee and his family. I was drawn to the book because my own son sustained a spinal cord injury at age 15 and I understand and empathize with the mother's anguish. However, I'm not going to finish the book. I've read half, but it's very poorly written, full of anger, and lacking in sensitivity and compassion. It's also lacking in depth and perspective. For example, in spite of her pain, the author doesn't seem to doubt her consistently negative interpretations of the behavior and facial expressions of the boy who shot her son and members of his family. If this book were about truth and justice, I'd be captured by it, but it's about revenge. It's a long-winded and poorly written indictment of someone who wasn't punished as the author thought he should be. I'm amazed it was published.

I can't believe this book! Please research the author. She has good words and shares her personal experiences, but I think taking avantage of others and controlling or manipulating others is not a way to triumph over tragedy. I don't want to critic someone who has experienced such tragedies in life and who has good words for others experiencing such things, but the author has harmed others in their times of need without concern about their feelings.

Disappointing BookI purchased this book as I thought it would be an exciting and informative read. Instead, it was disappointing in it's content & hard to follow due to the way it was written. There are many excellent shipwreck stories in Newfoundland...this is not one of them. A better read is "Shipwrecks of Newfoundland & Labrador" by Frank Galgay.

Too many unrelated personal things, pictures, etc. There were too many personal topics and photos not related to the subject of breast cancer. I did not need to see so many photos of the author's family and friends. It was easy to become confused about exactly what the main topic really was. Not enough emphasis on the emotional aspects surrounding this type of surgery.

full of inaccurate informationThis book was written for quick money I am sure. I read this book in the eighties it must be a re-release now. Speaking to Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, niether girl was interviewed. This book is all hear say and lies, even the names of the girls in photos are wrong, she identifies Cindy as Florence. Read Mary Wilsons two books or Cindys book that is being written now. Save your money!!!!

Infallibility, Fallibly AppraisedThe book attempts to redefine the catholic meaning of infallibility as taught at Vatican I in order to strike a balance of authority within the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, O'Gara's thesis rests on a flawed interpretation of the documents of Vatican II.The book is little more than a misguided attempt at reform meant to disproportionately empower the laity.
